Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 307: Chapter 305: Hagrid’s Request, Beast Repelling Charm

Due to what happened at the Dueling Club, for the next few days, no matter where Kael went, he would attract all kinds of attention.

The stone statue waving a giant axe left too deep an impression on them.

When many people mentioned the Dueling Club, the first thing they thought of was not Lockhart, who kept making a fool of himself, nor the various colorful spells, but that stone axe raised high.

This was also the first time they truly witnessed Kael’s strength...

How to put it... it was very straightforward. No wonder he was able to receive the Merlin Order Medal in his second year.

Compared to Kael, the other ”Merlin Order Medal” seemed much more ridiculous. Lockhart’s series of clumsy performances have become a joke in everyone’s eyes.

Additionally, Professor McGonagall heard about what happened at the Dueling Club from somewhere.

So, during a Transfiguration class, she uncharacteristically had Kael answer various questions, and every time he answered a question correctly, she would award Hufflepuff ten points.

By the end of the class, Kael had added sixty points for Hufflepuff... deducting the fifty points Snape took, there was still a gain of ten points.

Overall, the events at the Dueling Club did not impact Kael’s life much and even helped boost his fame a little.

But another person was not so fortunate.

Harry Potter.

According to Mikel and Ryan, after Kael and the others left, Snape called him and Malfoy up on stage again.

It’s unclear if Snape gave his house a private lesson, but Malfoy also knew Serpensortia.

Faced with the same black serpent, Harry’s way of handling it was not as smoothly done as Kael’s but unintentionally revealed his talent for Parseltongue.

This wasn’t a big deal by itself, but at this moment in time, it’s different.

Everyone knows the Chamber of Secrets was left by Salazar Slytherin, and Parseltongue is a famous skill of that founder.

Now, almost everyone considers Harry to be the so-called heir, believing it was him who tried to kill Filch and Professor Charity Burbage before.

But there are some who don’t think so...

”Harry Potter wants to use a monster to cleanse the school? Don’t be ridiculous.”

In the courtyard outside the castle, Fred said amusingly, ”Being able to speak Parseltongue doesn’t mean you’re Slytherin’s heir, let’s not forget he’s a Gryffindor.”

”Also, his best friend... That Granger, is a Muggle-born wizard,” George said, ”He surely wouldn’t want to kill his friend... We know Harry, he’d never do such a thing.”

”We trust it’s not him either.”

Kael said, ”Unfortunately, most people can’t see that and don’t believe what we say.”

”It’s really strange why Harry could speak Parseltongue.” Cedric asked with curiosity, ”I remember both his parents were Griffindors.”

”Who knows...”

And so they crossed the courtyard and came to Hagrid’s hut at the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

”Oh, Kael, you’re here.”

Hagrid was waiting at the door and greeted them warmly, but his smile faded quite a bit upon seeing Fred and George.

”I must warn you again...”

”The Forbidden Forest is dangerous, don’t even think about sneaking in!” Fred laughed and said, ”Hagrid, you’ve said that a hundred times already.”

”Plus, we haven’t been to the Forbidden Forest in a long time.” George added, ”The most we’ve done is looking for Kneazles a few times near the edge, all within the school rules.”

”It better be so.” Hagrid sighed with relief, ”I’m saying the school is already troublesome enough, don’t think about going into the Forbidden Forest.”

”But I’m still glad you could come to help... Come on in.”

Hagrid led everyone into the hut, where the six people, plus Hagrid, made the room feel a bit crowded.

Hagrid served a large plate of Rock Skin Cakes, and everyone took a piece but merely held it without eating.

After all, they had experienced the power of the Rock Skin Cakes and didn’t want to take it out on their teeth.

Seeing Hagrid bring out another plate of strangely colored sandwiches, Kael quickly asked, ”Hagrid, is there something you want us to help with?”

”I’d like you to help cast some spells around the chicken coop and the Forbidden Forest,”

Hagrid casually put the sandwiches aside and picked up a limp rooster from the shelf, ”It’s the second one that’s died this semester, with bite marks on the neck, possibly from a fox or vampire creature...”

Kael came over and looked at the rooster’s neck beside Hagrid.

The wounds were strange, seeming to have been torn, with no way to tell what bit it.

”The headmaster has already approved it.”

Hagrid said, ”Originally, I wanted to handle it myself or ask a professor for help, but they all have their things to do, so I could only ask you guys.”

Fifty years ago, while being expelled from Hogwarts, Hagrid’s wand was broken.

Although Dumbledore repaired it later, hiding it in that red umbrella, he still couldn’t use any spells openly.

That’s also why he sought out Kael... The location of the chicken coop is too conspicuous, and the spells there must seem reasonable.

There are also other places that require the same work, so the task might be a little large.

”Isn’t it just a Beast Repelling Spell, that’s easy, I’ve used it at home.” Fred casually pocketed the Rock Skin Cake and stepped outside.

”By the way, you said the chicken coop, and where else?”

”Oh, around the Forbidden Forest.”

”Thud...” Fred lost his balance and tumbled down the stone steps at the entrance.

”Hagrid...” He got up from the ground and said incredulously, ”Do you know how big the Forbidden Forest is?”

”Of course... I know.”

Hagrid scratched his hair, somewhat embarrassedly saying, ”You don’t need to cover the whole thing, just the areas facing the castle.”

Fred didn’t speak, just sighed softly. Even the area of the Forbidden Forest near the school is no small space.

He finally understood why the professors didn’t have time, with such a vast area, he wouldn’t have time either if he were a professor...

”As thanks, I can help you find a Kneazle.”

”Deal!” Fred and George nodded without hesitation.

”Oh, and you guys...” Hagrid looked at the others, ”If there’s anything you like, feel free to tell me.”

”I’m fine,” Kael replied. ”But Hagrid, why the sudden interest in casting Repelling Spells around the Forbidden Forest?”

Hagrid’s eyes turned evasive, ”Nothing... just worried the animals from the Forbidden Forest might come into the castle.”

Looking at him, Kael seemed to understand a bit.

It should be the news about the Chamber of Secrets that reminded Hagrid of the Eight-eyed Giant Spiders in the Forbidden Forest... He was expelled for this back in the day.

Adding repelling spells to the Forbidden Forest is likely to prevent them from emerging at this time.

But how to say it, this isn’t like Hagrid.

Based on Kael’s understanding of him, Hagrid wouldn’t do something so time-consuming and laborious... He often just trusted Aragog.

If everything wasn’t aligned correctly, and the way the Rock Skin Cakes were made remained unchanged, Kael would almost suspect the Hagrid in front of him was impersonated by someone using Polyjuice Potion.

”Hagrid, you should know.”

Stepping outside the hut, Kael said to Hagrid, ”The Beast Repelling Spell is actually a household spell, only effective against small animals like caterpillars, voles, and foxes... It can’t even affect goblins.”

”I know.” Hagrid nodded, ”But having it is better than nothing.”
