Chapter 338: Chapter 334: The One-Armed Wolf

Xu Wenfeng’s speed was so fast, it exceeded Su Changxing’s expectations. It was considered top-tier among Tier Nine, even faster than he had run back then.

This was the advantage brought by position.

”They haven’t gone far, just up ahead.”

Xu Wenfeng looked towards the ruins ahead, sensing that the Bone Spirit marker was nearby, and its movement wasn’t fast, which was strange.

The head by Su Changxing’s ear said softly, ”Sigh, it seems like there’s no one else around here, could this kid be bluffing you?”

Su Changxing frowned. He didn’t think Xu Wenfeng would lie to him, but he couldn’t figure out what was wrong.

Xu Wenfeng stopped, a surprised look on his face, looking forward: ”Brother Su, look at that, my Bone Spirit marker is on that.”

A bloodied arm hung from the dead, blackened tree branch, with fresh blood dripping down, soaking into the loose soil.

”Is this Geng Yong’s arm? Did Geng Yong find it?”

Su Changxing’s lips curved into a smile: ”Interesting. I didn’t expect him to have such courage, to rather lose an arm than face me? Am I that scary?”

Geng Yong seemed overly terrified of him.

Xu Wenfeng shivered and said, ”It’s normal for him to be scared of you, Brother Su... but why do I feel that tree is strange, like it’s still alive?”

Su Changxing also sensed the oddness of this tree, making people feel uncomfortable, as if invisible eyes were watching them from it.

The severed arm on the tree began to shrivel and age visibly, the dripping blood stopped, forming something like a mummy.

Blood patterns appeared on the dead wood, mingling with specks of golden light, as if flesh and blood were gradually expanding.

”Retreat!”

Realizing something was wrong, Su Changxing shouted a warning and backed away.

Xu Wenfeng was startled, immediately turning to run, his chest heaving as if he had seen something terrifying.

”Boom~”

Su Changxing pulled the trigger, shooting at the blackened tree.

The bullet flew from the muzzle, creating golden flashes as it rubbed against the air, like moving through water, facing immense resistance, its speed drastically reduced, falling to the ground before reaching the tree.

The phone vibrated.

[Side Quest: Destroy the Seed]

[Reward: Greatly Enhance Extraordinary Power]

Destroy the seed again?

Is this thing’s target the seed?

Without further thought, Su Changxing turned and ran, only to see Geng Yong, covered in blood, holding his severed arm, blocking the way.

His eyes were bloodshot, as if he hadn’t slept for days and nights.

”Did you kill everyone else?”

Su Changxing’s eyes were filled with sharpness, noticing more than one person’s blood on Geng Yong, and there were several Extraordinary among those Geng Yong had taken.

”Hahaha...”

Geng Yong showed a strange expression, seeming to suppress a laugh, his emotions extremely complex, loudly saying:

”My dear leader! What do you think? Anyway, they weren’t worth your pity, so easily swayed by me. They have only themselves to blame.”

Su Changxing licked his lips, looked back at the black tree, and laughed: ”I didn’t see you being such a character before. But what is that thing? Do you know what you’re really attached to?”

At this moment, Geng Yong’s presence was like a sinister wolf, exuding the aura of a predator, ruthless, cold-blooded, selfish.

He bared his fangs, laughing loudly:

”It’s too late for games now. We’ve come this far, let’s tear off the pretense. I have no retreat.”

”I’m still sorry, but the world is like this now. I must find a way out for myself, otherwise one day the world will abandon me... Your incredible speed scares me; we’re not in the same world.”

As he spoke, he became extremely agitated, veins popping from his neck, his eyes occasionally emitting golden light.

The surrounding light gradually dimmed, as if refracted by something, with golden patterns on the ground, like words containing some meaning.

Geng Yong turned to the paused Xu Wenfeng, casually waved, and said:

”Lao Qi, this has nothing to do with you, go ahead, I’ll let you go. I won’t hold your little trick against you.”

Xu Wenfeng’s forehead was sweating, internally conflicted.

To leave or not was a question.

They were ranked based on who became an Extraordinary first. He was the last, so ranked seventh, Geng Yong second, Zhu Wenwu first.

His relationship with Geng Yong was relatively good, knowing each other before becoming Extraordinary.

He took a deep breath, slowly said: ”I won’t leave. I’m different from you. The leader saved my life, even if I die here, it won’t be a loss.”

At that moment, he felt that everyone was untrustworthy, from Geng Wanchun to Geng Yong, full of calculations, only Su Changxing seemed reliable.

”Well said! But you better just run.”

Su Changxing raised his gun, fired several shots at Geng Yong, then turned to run in another direction, not planning to face Geng Yong head-on.

Geng Yong’s current strength was unknown to him, ”True Knowledge” seemed stuck in these golden lights, like a machine aging.

The phone vibrated repeatedly, like a morning alarm, annoying.

[Destroy the Seed?]

...

”You won’t escape today, you’ll die here, haha, I should thank you for the opportunity.”

Geng Yong laughed maniacally, eyes flashing familiar golden light, a black arm, like a dried tree branch, growing from his severed arm.

Su Changxing looked back and saw Geng Yong closing the distance with even greater speed.

No!

He had slowed down.

He noticed it wasn’t Geng Yong who sped up; he himself had slowed down, his movements becoming sluggish, on a normal human level.

The surroundings became completely dark, the distance pitch black, if not for the rocks on the ground, it felt like another place.

As if a giant hand covered the sky.

”I’ve won!”

Geng Yong’s bloodied face showed a smile, his desiccated arm turned claw reached for his chest, incredibly slow, moving frame by frame like a PowerPoint presentation.

Yet Su Changxing couldn’t dodge, moving even slower, forced to watch, as if crushed by a mighty force.

Blood shot like an arrow, an arm flew high into the sky.
