I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Excellent Effect! Recruitable Employee Types +2

Zhang Lin spent half the day dealing with his mom, finally taking her home before heading back to the farm.

Once he was sitting in the steel-paneled office, he pulled up Fu Yao’s WeChat and sent a message: ”Thank you for saving my life!”

”Just don’t forget your promise about letting me work there this summer, Mister!” Fu Yao replied quickly.

”I’ll definitely remember!” Zhang Lin promised. He hesitated for a moment before sending another message: ”There’s just one problem. After my mom met you, she decided she wants to make you pork trotter soup sometime and have me bring you over. This is getting complicated!”

”...” Fu Yao’s only reply was an ellipsis. Clearly, she hadn’t expected any further complications. A moment later, she sent another message: ”Might as well see it through to the end. Just give me a heads-up, Mister. Final exams are coming up, so I have to focus on studying. I might not always be free!”

’She’s a true friend!’ Zhang Lin could only marvel at how generous the young woman was.

With her help, at least he wouldn’t have to worry about handling his mom. Now, it was time to focus on his business.

He sat down at his desk and looked over the videos and photos he had taken that day.

Thanks to the [+1 Photogenic] attribute, the videos and photos were more than good enough for promotional material. The sense of framing and artistry in them was something even professional photographers shooting video ads online couldn’t replicate.

However, these videos alone weren’t enough.

When he used them for promotion, he would definitely need to edit in directions so people would know how to get from You City to the Flower Sea.

This meant he also needed to shoot a route video to splice in.

Of course, before that, he had to put up some obvious markers along the road near the farm, like colorful guide flags with ”Li Yuan Farm” written on them. This was a common and inexpensive method used by all tourist attractions.

After that, he would erect a three-meter-tall decorative rock sign at the entrance, engraved with the words ”Li Yuan Farm.”

Finally, he would hang up a huge promotional banner of the canola Flower Sea—five meters long and three meters wide—right next to the rock sign.

With a route video shot like this, it would be impossible for tourists to get lost or be unable to find the place.

Zhang Lin went directly to You City to take care of these matters.

As for the decorative rock sign, most stone material factories handled that kind of business. He found one and placed an order.

For the guide flags, any advertising studio could make them. He could also commission the promotional banner from them at the same time.

You City didn’t have any large advertising agencies, but there were plenty of smaller studios. The most famous among them was Millennium Advertising Studio, as they had participated in several of the county’s promotional projects for You City.

”Sir, may I have your last name?” a young female receptionist from the studio greeted him with a smile as he walked in.

”Zhang,” Zhang Lin said with a smile.

”Hello, Mr. Zhang!” the receptionist continued. ”We at Millennium Advertising handle all kinds of advertising jobs and offer wedding MC services!”

Zhang Lin stated his purpose. ”I need some guide flags for a scenic area and a large promotional banner, about five meters long by three meters wide.”

”Okay, please wait a moment, Mr. Zhang.” The receptionist invited him to sit in the waiting area, then went inside and came back out with a man. ”Mr. Lin, this is the Mr. Zhang I mentioned.”

Mr. Lin immediately greeted him enthusiastically. ”Hello, Mr. Zhang. I’m Lin Yao, the photographer for Millennium Advertising. Do you have any specific requirements for the promotional banner? Or would you need me to take the photos for it? Of course, if you already have suitable photos, we can use those directly.”

”I have the photos ready.” Zhang Lin took out his phone, found a photo he’d taken of Fu Yao standing in the Flower Sea, and handed it to him.

Although all the photos he took had the [+1 Photogenic] attribute, he liked this one the best. The young woman’s smile was so sweet, and it looked very lively against the beautiful scenery of the Flower Sea.

Lin Yao took the phone, planning to see if the photo was usable.

Many clients thought they had prepared excellent photos, but in the end, they were often barely satisfactory. The studio would usually shoot a new set themselves and have the client compare them to see the difference.

But when he saw the photo on Zhang Lin’s phone, he was stunned.

”Holy shit!” Lin Yao cursed after a moment. He couldn’t believe it. The photo on the phone had an incredibly strong sense of framing and composition, and even an artistic quality.

He was a photographer himself, so he knew that this kind of photo was not something an ordinary photographer could produce.

At least, *he* couldn’t take a shot like this. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be stuck running a studio in this small county town.

’This guy must have hired a master photographer.’

Zhang Lin understood his reaction and asked with a grin, ”So, Mr. Lin, what do you think? The photo’s usable, right?”

”Mr. Zhang, are you pulling my leg?” Lin Yao said hurriedly. ”You hired a master photographer for this shot; of course it’s usable! Let’s go inside to discuss the details, as well as your requirements for the guide flags.”

They then discussed some details and smoothly signed a contract.

When all was said and done, the total cost was over ten thousand yuan. Naturally, the bulk of the expense was for the decorative rock sign.

「Three days passed in the blink of an eye.」

Zhang Lin woke up early and checked his upgrade information:

Upgrade Requirements: 1. 20 workers (10/20)! 2. Earn 1,000,000 in profit (448,494/1,000,000)! 3. Develop 50 mu of agricultural land (520/500)! 4. Plant more than 10 types of agricultural products, with each type covering no less than 5 mu (3/10).

Yesterday afternoon, Liu De and his team had finished paving the main paths in the canola Flower Sea and had begun planting other agricultural products, completing the planting requirements for two new types of crops.

So, the requirement to plant ten types of crops on five mu of land each was actually very easy to complete.

Next, he opened the procurement market and spent 8,000 to purchase the 1,000 jin of water honey peaches and 500 jin of Sunshine Rose grapes allocated to Lin Tuo. Then he washed up and went out for breakfast.

The previous evening, both Millennium Advertising Studio and the stone factory had completed their deliveries. He needed to go film the route video later.

”Lin, I made you some coix seed porridge today. Come and try it,” Lin Yan called out when she saw him.

”Okay, Mom!” Zhang Lin replied with a smile.

After seeing the farm, his mom was much more relaxed, and she smiled a lot more.

’That’s a good thing.’

After breakfast, he got on his scooter and headed to the farm. This time, to shoot the route video, he took the entrance by the canola Flower Sea.

He got on the national highway and drove along. As he neared Li Yuan Farm, he could already see colorful flags fluttering in the wind on the side of the road, each one bearing the name ”Li Yuan Farm.”

The appearance of these guide flags indicated that the entrance to Li Yuan Farm was close.

He drove a little further and, at a fork in the road, saw the three-meter-tall decorative rock sign. Engraved in the middle were the three large, red words: ”Li Yuan Farm.”

Of course, the most stunning sight was the five-meter-long, three-meter-wide promotional banner next to the rock sign.

Passing vehicles could see the promotional image at a single glance. Moreover, because the photo had been made into this banner, it still retained the [+1 Photogenic] attribute. It looked incredibly artistic and possessed a strange, captivating allure.

Zhang Lin started filming the video, getting a close-up shot of the promotional banner.

As he put his phone away, he noticed a Maybach had pulled over beside him.

He looked over and saw a well-dressed, distinguished-looking middle-aged couple get out of the car. They were looking curiously at the huge promotional banner.

”Honey, it’s a canola Flower Sea. It looks beautiful,” the woman said, her face full of surprise.

”Sir, we were just passing by. Is there really a canola Flower Sea in there?” the man asked Zhang Lin politely.

He was also very surprised, because the promotional photo was so beautiful it was like a work of art, full of atmosphere.

’This has to be the work of a master photographer, right?’

He had been to many farms, even high-end ones, but none of them were extravagant enough to use a master photographer’s work for a roadside advertisement.

Therefore, the couple was very eager to go see this canola Flower Sea.

Zhang Lin pointed to a sign nearby. ”I’m very sorry, sir, but the canola Flower Sea isn’t open yet.”

There was a sign posted there that read, ”Flower Sea Temporarily Closed.”

He had put it up specifically because he was worried that passing cars would be drawn in by the banner and drive into the farm, just as this couple had stopped.

He had even set up a roadblock to block the entrance.

”That’s a real shame,” the middle-aged woman sighed, clearly disappointed.

The middle-aged man, however, smiled and said to Zhang Lin, ”Sir, are you with Li Yuan Farm?”

”Yes,” Zhang Lin nodded.

The middle-aged man immediately spoke. ”Sir, my name is Chen Shengfei. My wife is very fond of canola flower seas. Would it be possible to add you on WeChat? Please let us know when the Flower Sea opens. Ming City isn’t far from here, so we can come over then.”

”No problem,” Zhang Lin said with a smile, taking out his phone to add him on WeChat.

After Chen Shengfei and his wife left, the smile on Zhang Lin’s face grew wider. This was proof of just how effective the promotional banner, which still retained its [+1 Photogenic] attribute, really was.

Otherwise, the couple wouldn’t have gone out of their way to stop and even add him on WeChat.

Just then, his attention was subconsciously drawn to a series of notifications that appeared in the game interface in his mind:

[Congratulations, you have successfully built an agricultural-style service center for the viewing garden. You have triggered +2 recruitable employee types related to the service center!]
