I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Game-Produced Farming Equipment

Developing the planned 500-mu rapeseed Flower Sea would be a lengthy process, and when it eventually opened to the public, it would be difficult to synchronize the blooming periods.

When Liu De returned with his men after their shift, he reported to Zhang Lin, ”Boss, we’ve cleared over 100 mu for the rapeseed Flower Sea. Besides the gaps we left during planting, it’s time to start creating the first major pathway.”

If the 500-mu rapeseed Flower Sea was to be opened to the public, tourists would need to be able to walk among the flowers to appreciate them.

The gaps left during planting were not wide enough, serving only as narrow footpaths. They certainly wouldn’t be sufficient for large crowds and could only help to manage the flow of traffic.

Therefore, they needed to create several main avenues through the 500-mu area. These avenues would divide the Flower Sea into a few distinct sections.

Conveniently, a road in that area already connected to the national highway. The main avenues of the Flower Sea could eventually link up with it.

But creating these main avenues would take up a significant amount of time.

’So, just Liu De and his team aren’t nearly enough. I really need to hire more employees.’

’Of course, apart from the need for more labor, I also want to claim the milestone reward for hiring ten employees.’

’Maybe it’ll increase my wholesale quota. If not, a special seed reward, like the one for the rapeseed, would be fine too.’

’I have six employees now. Hiring four more would be just right, and it would complete the ten-employee milestone.’

’That way, three of them can join Liu De’s three-man team to work on the rapeseed Flower Sea. If I buy another used tiller, we can maintain a steady pace of development each day.’

’The last one can help Guo Zhen build the irrigation system. Including the two people already with him, that makes a team of three, which should be enough to handle the construction.’

’Once they finish the irrigation system in a few days, they can also help Liu De’s crew develop the land for the rapeseed.’

’At this rate, we should be able to get the entire 500-mu rapeseed Flower Sea ready in just over ten days.’

’By then, the rapeseed planted in the first few days will have started to bloom.’

’That will be more than forty mu, which is plenty to start filming promotional videos and preparing for the Flower Sea’s opening.’

’By the time the tourists start arriving in large numbers, the rapeseed in the other sections should also be blooming sequentially.’

A clear plan had formed in Zhang Lin’s mind.

’There’s just one problem to solve now. The prefab building only has nine dorm rooms. Since six are already taken, that leaves only three.’

’Fortunately, the rooms are big enough for two people. For future hires, I can just assign two to a room.’

With that in mind, Zhang Lin gave an order to Liu De, ”Liu De, four more employees are on their way. We’re short on dorm rooms for now, so have everyone double up, two people to a room!”

”Okay, Boss!” Liu De immediately nodded.

’Employees recruited from the game had another great quality besides being diligent: they did exactly what their boss told them to do.’

The moment Zhang Lin finished his order, Liu De and the other five men sprang into action. They were already heading upstairs, moving their personal belongings to automatically double up in the rooms.

This way, the six of them only occupied three rooms, which suddenly freed up six empty ones.

’Such considerate employees.’

Zhang Lin entered the prefab building and pulled up the game’s recruitment market in his mind. He tapped the ”Recruit” button four times in succession, and a game notification immediately rang out:

[Congratulations, you have spent 30,000 yuan to recruit 4 ordinary farmhands. Employment term: one month. The ordinary farmhands are now materializing...]

”Account ending in *** paid 30,000 yuan. Current balance: 149,494.52 yuan.”

The next moment, just as before, four orbs of light appeared in front of him, accompanied by the notification tone. Four contracts simultaneously materialized from the light and settled on the desk.

”Boss!” the four newly materialized, game-recruited employees called out in unison, their voices filled with respect.

Zhang Lin, however, quickly turned his attention to the game in his mind, because the notification for the ten-employee milestone reward had just appeared.

[Congratulations, you have completed the ”Recruit 10 Employees” milestone! You have received a milestone reward: New Model Tiller Voucher x2! Redeemable in the Procurement Market!]

Zhang Lin was taken aback by this milestone reward.

’It wasn’t an increase to the wholesale quota or more seeds, but some kind of tiller voucher.’

’Did the game system somehow know I was planning to buy another tiller?’

’The thing is, I can just buy a tiller in the real world. Used ones are dirt cheap. Who needs a reward like this?’

’Just a 500-jin increase to my wholesale quota would generate enough daily profit to buy a brand new tiller every single day.’

’This reward is kind of lame.’

’Still, this shows that the Procurement Market doesn’t just offer fruit and seeds. It can also provide other agricultural equipment.’

’Besides, it was still two free tillers. Every little bit helps.’

He immediately opened the Procurement Market and, sure enough, saw the information for the tiller.

1. New Model Tiller (Quality 2). Temporarily restricted from purchase. Please use a New Model Tiller Voucher to redeem.

”Huh!” Zhang Lin did a double-take when he saw the words ”Quality 2.”

’The peaches, Sunshine Rose grapes, and rapeseed seeds were all Quality 1, and they were already far superior to anything in the real world.’

’So a Quality 2 tiller... It must be something extraordinary, right?’

With that thought, Zhang Lin immediately tapped twice, selecting ”Redeem.”

[Congratulations on using the Small Crawler-type Tiller Voucher! You have obtained New Model Tiller (Quality 2) x2. They have been materialized and placed in your warehouse.]

After receiving the notification, Zhang Lin stood up. He looked at the four new employees still standing respectfully to the side, led them out of the prefab building, and handed them over to Liu De. Then, he made his way to the warehouse.

Sure enough, two brand-new tillers were sitting inside the warehouse, thoughtfully filled to the brim with fuel.

When he touched one of them, a panel of information immediately appeared:

[Small Crawler-type Tiller: Quality 2]

[This is a special tiller produced by the game. Its performance far exceeds that of real-world tillers. Special Attribute: Tilling Efficiency +2!]

[Restriction: The special attribute is only effective within the farm’s boundaries. Outside the farm, it is merely a tiller with fairly good performance.]

’The attribute boost is applied in the best possible way. With Tilling Efficiency +2, its performance must far surpass any real-world machine, right?’

He suddenly felt a surge of anticipation.

It was just a shame that it was already getting dark.

He would have to go home for now and test it tomorrow.

「Early the next morning」

Zhang Lin followed his usual routine, first procuring 1,000 jin of peaches, 500 jin of Sunshine Rose grapes, and 10 jin of rapeseed seeds before heading straight to the farm.

Liu De and his men were already loading the goods. With four extra people, the loading process was much faster.

By the time he arrived, the 1,000 jin of peaches and 500 jin of Sunshine Rose grapes had long been loaded. In fact, Liu De and two of the men had already departed to make the delivery.

Seeing this, he also procured the other 500 jin of peaches, which were for Zhang Dong.

They could be delivered once Liu De returned.

Zhang Lin then assigned tasks to the four employees he had hired the day before. He sent one to help build the reservoir, then instructed the other three to take one of the new tillers and head to the rapeseed fields.

When one of the farmhands started up the tiller and began working, Zhang Lin was astonished.

The speed at which it tore through the earth was incredible, far faster than the old second-hand machine. But the crucial part was that as it tilled, the game’s machine didn’t just move faster—it also partially turned over the soil, bringing debris and weeds straight to the surface.

This meant the workers who followed only needed to sweep the surface clean, which also boosted their efficiency.

In just a short time, the tiller had already left the two farmhands trailing it far behind. This was a level of efficiency no real-world machine could match.

When the day was over, he checked the amount of land tilled and was completely shocked.

Total area developed: 178 mu!

Yesterday, the total was 118 mu.

They had cleared 60 mu of land in a single day.

With the old second-hand tiller, even when Liu De’s three-man team didn’t have to waste time on watering, their maximum daily output was only 15 mu.

Even if he had hired three more people and bought another real-world tiller, their maximum output would only have been 30 mu per day.

But now, using the tiller from the game, they had cleared 60 mu in one day.

That was double the efficiency!

’So this is the efficiency of game-produced machinery?’

At this rate, they could prepare the entire 500-mu rapeseed Flower Sea in less than a week.
