I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 11: Chapter 11: I Can Never Eat Enough of This

However, making the Japanese farmers who grow Sunshine Rose grapes cry their eyes out was certainly not something he could accomplish right now. That was for the future.

After all, he could only wholesale 500 jin of Sunshine Rose grapes from the game each day, which wouldn’t have the slightest impact on them. It wouldn’t even affect a county-level city like You City.

Right now, his priority was simply to sell these 500 jin of Sunshine Rose grapes.

The first person Zhang Lin thought of was Lin Tuo. Their collaboration these past few days had been very pleasant. Lin Tuo knew the peaches were a new, confidential trial product from Li Yuan Farm, and he never pried for more information. Had it been someone else, they might have tried to pump the deliveryman, Liu De, for details.

This left a great impression on him, which was why Lin Tuo was the first person to come to mind.

Someone so discreet was an ideal business partner.

Zhang Lin immediately put three bunches of Sunshine Rose grapes into a bag, then rode his scooter to the outskirts of the South Market.

Arriving at Lin Xiaotuo’s Fruit Supermarket again, he found that Lin Tuo had cleared out all the other fruit in the shop. Most of the shelves were gone, with only three remaining in the most prominent spot. These shelves held only one type of fruit: peaches. It was as if the place had become a specialty peach shop.

”President Zhang!” Lin Tuo was just seeing a customer out when he turned and saw Zhang Lin getting off his scooter with a bag. He immediately rushed forward with a warm welcome. ”President Zhang, why didn’t you give me a heads-up that you were coming?”

How could he not be enthusiastic?

Over the past five days, the 5,000 jin of peaches had sold like crazy. There wasn’t a person in the neighborhood who hadn’t heard of Li Yuan Farm’s peaches.

Naturally, with a profit margin of 6 yuan per jin, he was making a killing.

This President Zhang standing before him was his personal God of Wealth; he felt like he should be building a shrine to him.

After all, he knew one thing very clearly: if the man could wholesale the peaches to him, he could just as easily wholesale them to someone else.

With their taste and texture, there were no worries about sales. It was safe to say that anyone who got their hands on these peaches could make money.

”President Zhang, please, come in and sit. I’ll make you some tea!” Lin Tuo invited Zhang Lin even more politely to a tea table, pouring him a cup as he began to brew a fresh pot.

In Min Province, the tea culture is very strong. Many prestigious business negotiations are conducted over a tea table, unlike in other places where you have to engage in cutthroat battles over alcohol. That’s why in many parts of Min Province, even small street-side shops will have a tea table set up to seem more proper.

Zhang Lin could sense Lin Tuo’s attempt to curry favor. He picked up his teacup, took a sip, and then asked, ”Boss Lin, we’ve been working together for several days now. I trust there haven’t been any problems with the peach sales?”

Hearing this, Lin Tuo perked up and said excitedly, ”President Zhang, you have no idea. Your farm’s peaches are incredibly popular! Many customers now are just picking up pre-orders from the day before. I’m certain that if your peaches were marketed on a larger scale, they would completely sweep the market. I was just wondering, President Zhang, if you might be able to wholesale a bit more to me each day?”

”If I wholesaled more to you, could you sell them?” Zhang Lin asked with a smile.

”Of course! I have my ways!” Lin Tuo said immediately.

Zhang Lin knew Lin Tuo was a man with ideas, but unfortunately, he only had 1,000 jin of peaches per day. He could only smile and say, ”Boss Lin, you know this is a confidential trial product. The quantity won’t be increasing. I can only provide 1,000 jin of peaches a day. Any more than that, and my hands are tied.”

”That’s a real shame.” Lin Tuo could only sigh in regret, but he was tactful enough not to press the issue.

Seeing this, Zhang Lin smiled again and began his pitch for the Sunshine Rose grapes. ”Boss Lin, our farm also has a type of Sunshine Rose grape that will be on trial sale. It’s also in a confidential phase, and the quantity won’t be very large either. Boss Lin, have a taste.”

As he spoke, he opened the bag he was carrying, revealing the three bunches of Sunshine Rose grapes inside.

Lin Tuo looked at the Sunshine Rose grapes and subconsciously picked one up and popped it into his mouth.

Just one grape was all it took for his eyes to light up.

Having been in the fruit industry for so long, he’d eaten his fair share of Sunshine Rose grapes. He used to sell them and would taste-test every shipment. But none of those Sunshine Rose grapes had ever tasted this good.

Even the ones imported from Japan couldn’t hold a candle to this flavor.

He was certain these were on the exact same level as the peaches. And just like the peaches, there would be no trouble selling them.

These two fruits alone were enough to show how incredible Li Yuan Farm was.

’I have to latch onto this connection.’

He immediately asked the question that was foremost on his mind: ”President Zhang, what’s the wholesale price for these Sunshine Rose grapes? And how many jin can I wholesale?”

Zhang Lin explained, ”Boss Lin, the wholesale price for these Sunshine Rose grapes is 40 yuan per jin, and the quantity is only 500 jin. However, since this is the second product, the profit margin won’t be as generous. After wholesaling, you can only mark up the retail price by 10%. Is that a problem?”

’This was also a price I had calculated. A 10% increase on 40 yuan is still within the safety limits of the high-price memorandum rule!’

”No problem at all! I’ll follow your arrangements,” Lin Tuo immediately replied with the utmost respect, his face beaming with joy.

After all, this was an unexpected blessing.

He knew these Sunshine Rose grapes would also sell like crazy. At a wholesale price of 40 yuan per jin, a 10% profit margin still meant 4 yuan.

For a fruit that was guaranteed to sell, a 4-yuan profit was already extremely high.

”Excuse me, could you weigh some peaches for me?” a clear, crisp voice called out.

The voice sounded familiar to Zhang Lin. He glanced over subconsciously, and his eyes lit up. It was the high school girl from before.

But it was Sunday, so she obviously didn’t have class. She wasn’t wearing a school uniform, but a simple pair of jeans and a plain white T-shirt. Yet, as the saying goes, a beautiful person looks good in anything.

The simple outfit made her look even more pure and beautiful. It was enough to make one’s heart skip a beat.

’If I were still in high school,’ he thought, ’I’d probably be impulsively chasing after her, just like I chased my first love back in my freshman year.’

’Unfortunately, I’m 26 years old now, and she’s clearly not yet 16. The flutter in my heart will have to remain just that—a flutter!’

”Mister, you’re here too!” The girl was a little surprised to see Zhang Lin. She greeted him politely, ”I went to your usual spot to buy peaches, but you weren’t there. I thought you had stopped selling them.”

Zhang Lin smiled. ”Well now, it looks like you’re a big fan of our peaches.”

The girl nodded, a little bashfully. ”Mhm, they’re absolutely delicious!”

”Then you have to try these Sunshine Rose grapes!” Zhang Lin said with a laugh, offering the bunch to her.

The girl seemed a little embarrassed but didn’t refuse. She picked a grape, popped it in her mouth to taste, and her face immediately lit up with surprise. ”Mister, how can these Sunshine Rose grapes be so delicious?”

”It’s a new variety our farm developed. You can’t buy them anywhere else. Good, right?” Seeing the girl’s surprised expression, Zhang Lin felt a little smug.

’Of course they are. Wholesaled from the game, with Delicious +1, Sweetness +1, Texture +1. My supply is one of a kind.’

”Mhm, they’re amazing!” the girl nodded affirmatively. After swallowing the first one, she couldn’t help but grab a second, and then a third...

It was her first time eating Sunshine Rose grapes this good, and she lost control for a moment. After eating more than ten in a row, she finally caught herself, and her pretty face flushed bright red. ”Mister, how much are these Sunshine Rose grapes? I want to buy some!”
