Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

The principle behind it was to use pure Dark Element Energy to envelop the body, allowing the user to achieve a state that closely resembled a real shadow.

While in this state, the Cyan-striped Bee-eater couldn’t attack, but its speed reached the absolute limit, making it difficult for any attack to lock onto or hit it.

After all, what can hit a shadow?

This not only gave the lightweight Cyan-striped Bee-eater the ability to protect itself against high-intensity attacks, but it also created the perfect opportunity for it to launch a defensive counterattack.

Few Pet Beasts could maintain wide-area suppression indefinitely. The moment they showed the slightest sign of fatigue, the Cyan-striped Bee-eater could strike in an instant!

”Yu Bao, don’t panic!”

Su Zhi said in a low voice, ”She’s only entered a shadow-like state. At her core, she’s still a Pet Beast with a physical body. She’s not invincible!”

’That’s right, not invincible.’

’As long as the attacks are frequent enough and the covering fire is saturated enough, it’s possible to land a hit here and there.’

’But in a match with such a huge power gap, does that even matter?’

Cyan Bee couldn’t deny it.

Yu Bao tried to bombard her with the Sandstorm Iron Shattering Array, but thanks to the evasive effect of the Shadow Energy, only a tiny amount of grit managed to hit her—to say nothing of the fact she had already dodged most of the attack with her high-speed movement.

’An attack that weak doesn’t even count as a tickle.’

’Looks like Yu Bao has finally run out of tricks...’

’Wait, no!’

Having been tricked before, Cyan Bee was quick to grow alert when she noticed two inconspicuous metal spheres near Yu Bao.

’He isn’t just bombarding me with the Sandstorm Iron Shattering Array. He’s also extracting the metal particles from it—that’s how he’s been slowly forming those two spheres.’

’What is he trying to do?’

Cyan Bee’s question was soon answered.

The next moment, the two spheres began to circle slowly, their immense magnetism directly altering the local magnetic field!

Cyan Bee felt her head BUZZ. It was as if she’d had a belly full of strong liquor; she couldn’t fly steadily and nearly fell to the ground.

’So nauseous... I want to puke! BLEGH!!’

The spectating Alliance Members were also at a loss, but humans are far less sensitive to magnetic fields than some avian Exotic Beasts. At most, they felt slightly dizzy.

However, when they saw the compasses on their phones malfunctioning, most of the Alliance Members figured out what was going on.

”Holy shit! So Yu Bao’s two spheres are for controlling the magnetic field?”

”Some kind of Magnetic King... Is that thing really just some mutt??”

”Damn, this is the first time I’ve ever seen Cyan Bee look so pathetic!”

”...CHIRP!” Cyan Bee shook her head, flying into a rage out of humiliation, but it was no use.

Ghost Shadow Evasion could protect her from most physical and Energy attacks, but it couldn’t negate the effects of the magnetic field. As long as she remained in this Space, she couldn’t escape the fundamental laws of physics.

In truth, Yu Bao hadn’t expected this either.

Learning Strong Magnetic Control had just been a side project, mostly because he thought magnets would be fun to mess around with. He never imagined it would be so effective in a real fight—it was even having a significant effect on a higher-tiered Pet Beast!

This was a rare opportunity. Yu Bao immediately went on the offensive, unleashing Sandstorm, Quicksand Shield, and Furious Sand Blade all at once.

Cyan Bee struggled to dodge. While she held her own thanks to her excellent ability to recover, she found it difficult to mount a counterattack.

”CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP!”

Cyan Bee was getting desperate. She stopped clashing head-on with Yu Bao and instead shot high into the sky, escaping the magnetic field’s range of control.

Then, she locked onto Yu Bao’s position and dove down to strike at top speed.

However, their struggle had already taken up too much time...

”BEEP—”

”CHIRP!”

The instant before Cyan Bee’s sharp beak could touch Yu Bao’s throat, Shen Zechuan’s hand moved even faster, stopping the stopwatch.

[Assignable Attribute Points (Yu Bao): 0.35...0.38]

The minute was up. Su Zhi’s side was victorious.

Yu Bao had held on until the very end, for a full forty-six seconds.

Cyan Bee had attacked a total of five times, but ultimately failed to defeat Yu Bao within the time limit.

In this cross-tier sparring match, the victory went to Su Zhi’s Envoy’s Pet!
