Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

The arena erupted into an uproar. Almost no one had processed what had just happened.

It wasn’t until a dejected Shan Bao left the field that the audience finally caught on. A wave of discussion and cries of alarm followed, crashing down like a delayed tsunami.

“One of Su Zhi’s Pet Beasts was taken out just like that?”

“That was way too fast! I just got my phone out to record!”

“That was Rush Form! I can’t believe I got to see Alliance Leader Cui Que’s Cyan Bee in action in my lifetime! I’m tearing up!”

Rush Form was a dual Wind and Fighting Element Skill, one of the Cyan-striped Bee-eater’s Racial Skills. Though its name wasn’t well-known and the attack lacked any flashy special effects, the Skill’s Tier was a terrifying Low Level Commander.

By fusing Fighting and Wind Element Energy at a particle level, the Cyan-striped Bee-eater could grant its body immense explosive power and speed for a forward rush. Its peak velocity could even briefly approach the speed of light. Against this move, any enemy with weak Defense Power would be taken down in a single blow.

The Fighting Attribute was rather unique, as it was generally incompatible with other Attributes.

Most dual- or multi-attribute Pet Beasts that possessed this Attribute simply used it to enhance their bodies during physical combat to gain an advantage.

The Cyan-striped Bee-eater, however, entangled the Fighting and Wind Element Energy at a microscopic level. The resulting power was naturally far superior to ordinary Fighting moves, because on a conceptual level, this was practically an attack on the level of a Law!

In its fusion of these two Attributes, the Cyan-striped Bee-eater could be considered to be at the Grandmaster Level!

“By the way, what was the time limit again? Is that enough time?”

“One minute, right? It’s a bit short for a regular Pet Beast Battle, but for this one, I have a feeling they won’t even need the full minute.”

“That Flash Gold Sparrow was pretty good, too. It managed to dodge once before being taken out. The Cyan Bee might have been going easy on it, but that’s still impressive!”

“True. If it were my Sub-Pet out there, I’m not sure I could have done any better than Su Zhi…”

“Get real. You’re only Tier Four, and he’s Tier Five. There’s no ‘not sure’ about it.”

“Sigh, the gap between people is bigger than the one between humans and Pet Beasts. Some people are born in Rome, while I was born to be a beast of burden.”

“Are you kidding? That’s Captain Sai’s golden boy.”

“Captain Sai is a good guy, but my heart will always belong to Alliance Leader Cui Que!”

Even though the spectators were all Alliance Members, the sparring match was still incredibly entertaining for them. In fact, it was precisely because they were experts that they could appreciate the subtleties of the fight, rather than just seeing a simple one-hit knockout.

It was worth noting that while most of the crowd belonged to the Flying Shadow Alliance, the cheers for Cui Que were quite loud.

The Dark Alliance might not have a strong presence, but who could dislike a cool and aloof loli Alliance Leader in an all-black uniform?

“It seems I overestimated Su Zhi. No… I underestimated Cui Que.”

Shen Zechuan chuckled and stroked his white beard. “Alliance Leader Cui Que may be too busy with work to train, but she is an Alliance Leader, after all. Perhaps the gap between her and Su Zhi is still quite large.”

“…” Gou Yu fidgeted beside him, looking utterly dejected.

‘The Grand Alliance Leader probably didn’t mean anything by it,’ he thought, ‘but I can’t help but feel like I just got chewed out.’

‘If Su Zhi is still lacking by a lot, then what does that make me?’

“Incredible. As expected of Alliance Leader Cui Que’s Pet Beast!” Su Zhi was equally amazed on the field.

The moment the Cyan Bee’s beak touched Shan Bao’s chest, he had already accepted his defeat in the first round without a shred of hope.

Even though Shan Bao was known for its toughness, often leaving opponents of the Same Tier or even higher at a loss, Su Zhi knew with absolute certainty from the feedback of that one blow that Shan Bao could not have taken it.

Defeated in a single move. This was the power of the Alliance Leader Level.

What was even more terrifying was his opponent’s control. She had projected enough killing intent to make defeat feel certain, yet still held back her power, stopping at just the right moment.

“He’s out. The timer is paused,” Cui Que reminded him, her expression blank.

Of course, it wasn’t because she was cool and aloof, but because she was exhausted… Cui Que just wanted to get this sparring match over with, go back to work, and then get some sleep.

“Wu Bao, you’re up next!”

After a moment’s thought, a deep blue Light Array lit up beside Su Zhi again.

He planned to save Yu Bao for last, since its fighting style relied on observing its opponent. Given the enormous gap in power, Yu Bao would probably be taken out in a few moves, making observation impossible.

‘So what was the plan?’

‘Have it observe through the others.’

“Wuu!” Wu Bao landed with a flourish, looking as if the heavens themselves had bestowed a great mission upon this Black Fighting Emperor.

It had no idea this was the plan Su Zhi and Yu Bao had cooked up; it just thought Su Zhi was spoiling it by letting it go first.

‘Heh heh, he’s a pretty good guy!’

‘It’s a fight I’m guaranteed to lose in an instant, but who cares?’

‘The chance to fight a Four-star Pet Beast without any mortal danger is incredibly rare. I’ve got to make the most of it!’

“Wu Bao, focus! We can’t match our opponent’s power, so don’t look for a chance to counterattack. Just put everything you have into defending!”

Two seconds after Wu Bao landed, the Cyan Bee confirmed it was ready and once again beat its wings.

Su Zhi’s nerves tensed. “Here it comes!”

SWOOSH!

Just like before, the Cyan Bee’s figure blurred into a nearly invisible green shadow, arriving in front of Wu Bao in an instant.

But a moment before the Cyan Bee even moved, Wu Bao had already activated Perfect Block.

‘What do you do when your skill timing can’t keep up with your opponent’s rhythm?’

‘Simple. You just use it a move early.’

Its solid carapace vibrated at high speed, emitting a glossy black light. This was Wu Bao’s strongest Defense Skill at its current stage, sometimes even surpassing Shan Bao’s.
