Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

Chapter 454: Chapter 291: Battle of Breaking the Realm (Part 2)

A smile touched Clara’s lips. “That also includes dragging you all into this.

“Tuoba Jing was already getting suspicious. If I had let him rendezvous with the Flying Shadow Alliance reinforcements, all my previous efforts would have been wasted. So, letting him enter the Secret Realm was something I had no choice but to do.

“However… watching him struggle desperately against the Earthquake Beasts, trying so hard to protect those commoners, only to fail time and again because he simply wasn’t strong enough… what a pathetic sight! It’s been quite the diversion! HAHAHAHA!”

Tuoba Jing didn’t answer, but Su Zhi saw his fists clench tighter, the veins on his forearms bulging like coiled dragons.

“As for you, you’ve really kept me waiting.”

Clara looked at Su Zhi.

Or more precisely, at Yu Bao.

“The Radiant Gold Vein Opening Source Stone needs a Pet Beast with an extremely high Earth and Gold Element affinity to be fully activated. I, however, cannot do it. It must be a trap specifically designed by Emperor Heng to keep me imprisoned. For so many years, I’ve been searching for such a Pet Beast, but I’ve scoured this entire Secret Realm to no avail.

“Until you appeared near the village ruins with this mongrel.

“Even with an entire Secret Realm between us, I could still sense that one-of-a-kind Energy. Do you have any idea? The Energy he radiates is as conspicuous as a fresh sprout in the middle of a desert! I have no idea how a mongrel could develop the Gold Element, much less to this degree… but it doesn’t matter. I don’t care. He is the key to opening this cage—that’s all that matters to me.

“And just as I expected, after I dragged you into the Secret Realm, the Radiant Gold Vein Opening Source Stone, which had been dormant for so long, showed signs of activity again. Now that you’ve delved this deep, it’s become more active than ever!”

Yu Bao blinked, a question mark appearing above his head.

He had no idea he was so incredible.

Su Zhi said thoughtfully, “So that wasn’t a Restriction at all, but a trap you set…”

“Now you’re accusing me unfairly. It really was a Restriction set by Emperor Heng. But perhaps the Array failed due to its age, or perhaps there was a structural flaw I was able to exploit… Who’s to say?

“All you need to know is that from the moment you entered this Secret Realm, your defeat was a foregone conclusion. I will use the power of the source stone to shatter this realm and return to the Current World, and you will be turned to dust right along with it.”

Clara sauntered over to Tuoba Jing’s side.

“This Secret Realm is quite picturesque. In the Current World, it would be a famous scenic spot. There are Earthquake Beasts, yes, but with your capabilities, protecting yourself would be no trouble at all. Life is short—you should enjoy it. Why fight so hard for a group of strangers you’ve never met?”

“My life is sworn to my country; how can I shrink from duty for personal gain or fear of loss?”

Tuoba Jing met Clara’s gaze, his own surprisingly calm. A purple Beast Taming Light Array materialized around him, shining with increasing brightness.

“A beast wouldn’t understand.”

Stared at by that utterly placid gaze, Clara grew annoyed, her expression darkening.

“It’s one thing to be shackled by your status as a Beastmaster in the Current World, but to come to this Secret Realm and still spout the same old lines… you’re hopelessly dogmatic! These people have nothing to do with what you protect back in your world. So what if the Earthquake Beasts devour every last one of them? What does that have to do with you?”

“Because we are Beastmasters.”

Su Zhi took a step forward, and a deep blue Light Array ignited around him as well.

“And a Beastmaster is someone who stops people from being eaten.”

Clara’s expression instantly twisted into a snarl. “Fine! You’ve chosen the hard way!”

“…Clara!”

The swarm of Earthquake Beasts surrounding the two men opened their cavernous, bloody jaws.

Before those Earthquake Beasts could get close, a huge pillar of quicksand erupted from the ground, swirling to cover the center of their encirclement.

In the blink of an eye, several Quicksand Shields formed and converged under Yu Bao’s control, slamming with immense force into the surging Earthquake Beasts.

At the same time, the ground shifted subtly under the influence of the Earth Force Field. The multi-legged Earthquake Beasts faltered for a moment, then were sent flying by the powerful, heavy blows of the Quicksand Shields.

No longer holding back, Tuoba Jing summoned all three of his Pet Beasts at once.

The bloody battle had officially begun!

For a moment, the cavern was a whirlwind of flying gravel and choking dust. The dull thud of heavy footfalls, hysterical roars, and the sickening squelch of flesh being pierced mingled together, creating a fierce and chaotic symphony.

The Earthquake Beasts were repelled like a tide, only to surge forward again like a tide, endless and unceasing.

Tuoba Jing was a Tier Six Beastmaster, a full tier higher than Su Zhi, so he undoubtedly bore the brunt of the Earthquake Beasts’ fierce assault.

His three Pet Beasts coordinated meticulously, repelling the Earthquake Beasts’ attacks countless times and tearing their formations apart.

Profound Yellow used Skills like Earth Force Field and Yellow Earth Wall to interfere with and weaken the Earthquake Beasts, preventing them from leveraging their advantage in charging headlong into battle. Although the Yu Dian Farm Dog is a species that leans toward offense and defense, Profound Yellow was taking on more of a support role here.

Fuyue, meanwhile, relied on the inherent Fighting advantages of a Mud Rock Battle Bear, coordinating closely with Profound Yellow. Each time Profound Yellow restrained a group of Earthquake Beasts, Fuyue would charge in swiftly to topple them.

Zi Lu circled at a low altitude, providing cover. Although the cavern was somewhat narrow compared to the open sky, it didn’t affect her mobility.

Cyan bolts of lightning rained down, weaving through the swarm of Earthquake Beasts and blasting many with low Energy Values directly into scorched ash. The raging gales were not to be underestimated either; with Profound Yellow’s support, they could sometimes even overturn the Earthquake Beasts completely.

To counter the Earthquake Beasts’ specific traits, Tuoba Jing had long ago trained his three Pet Beasts in meticulously coordinated combination tactics.

However, this was ultimately just an optimization of skill combinations within their capabilities; the effect was limited. Especially when facing a virtually endless horde of Earthquake Beasts, the three Pet Beasts couldn’t possibly kill them all, no matter how bravely they fought.
