Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”I’m just glad you’re safe.”

Shao Ya whispered, relishing the feeling of leaning her full weight against him.

”I didn’t wait all this time just to hear an apology.”

”Alright, then I’ll give you something else worth waiting for.” With that, Su Zhi quietly pecked her on the cheek.

The girl immediately broke into a cheerful grin.

Su Zhi’s lips curved into a faint smile as he admired her happy, foolish grin.

Yu Bao looked like it wanted to say something but held back, sensing this was not the right time. It figured it would be better to just zip back to the Beast Taming Space. Shan Bao’s face was flushed, likely because it was already imagining the romantic scenes to come.

Meanwhile, Wu Bao looked thoughtful, nodding from time to time as if it were studying some profound piece of wisdom.

The fists of the surrounding Flying Shadow Alliance rescue team members clenched. They were all wondering if they should just let a tiger loose on him, or maybe just bury the kid right back where they found him...

”Hmm!?” The girl’s nose twitched as she suddenly grew alert.

”Huh!?” Su Zhi stared at her suddenly grim face, completely dumbfounded.

Shao Ya: ”Have you been drinking?”

Su Zhi: ”?”

’I did have a drink with Elder Jing...’

’Wait, how could she possibly smell that???’

”I was just bluffing to mess with you. Seeing your expression... you really drank, didn’t you?”

The girl’s nose crinkled and her brow shot up. She opened her mouth in a mock snarl. ”Where’d you drink? When? Who with? And did you do anything afterward? Spit it out, or there’ll be no tasty juice for you!”

Su Zhi: ”No, I...”

’I’m finished! Even if they bury me again, I’ll never be able to talk my way out of this!’

·

Fortunately, Shao Ya didn’t press the issue in the end.

After all, she was just joking. What could be more amusing than the sight of Su Zhi sweating bullets, at a complete loss for how to explain himself?

In any case, it was all over now. Su Zhi’s safe return was a huge weight off her mind, and Shen Chuqing could finally breathe a sigh of relief as well.

At the time, Shen Chuqing had been at the logistics point buying dinner for everyone. The moment she heard Su Zhi had been dug out, she had sprinted back to the scene. Seeing him and Shao Ya locked in an embrace, she pouted and quietly slipped away.

After calling his parents to report that he was safe, Su Zhi naturally didn’t forget about the guide who had looked out for him. He made a point of finding her to express his thanks, telling her she was actually a pretty great person.

In response, Shen Chuqing punched him and walked off, muttering under her breath.

Shao Ya, however, placed her hands on her hips in a victorious pose and waved goodbye with a giggle.

The Flying Shadow Alliance rescue team members had also breathed a collective sigh of relief the moment they dug him out.

Although Su Zhi wasn’t an official Alliance Member yet, the current members had heard Selena mention him nonstop. A few of Su Zhi’s more classic matches had even become topics for group discussions.

A few new recruits even idolized God Su, attempting to get their own Pet Beasts to learn some of his more outlandish Skills. Though they all invariably failed, it sparked signs of a revival in the long-stagnant atmosphere of bold experimentation.

Apparently, the Boya Alliance had also discussed Su Zhi at length and was even considering whether to expand their existing Skill combinations based on some of his ideas.

Had they rescued an outstanding young man?

No! They had rescued the future of the Flying Shadow Alliance!

Of course, the most tearfully overjoyed of all had to be Vice Alliance Leader Gou.

The high-priority target was safe. He could finally get this mission stamped as complete and report back to Alliance Leader Cui Que.

Then again, nobody remembered him being there. Perhaps his Beast Taming Talent had activated again...

”Welcome back~”

In a tent flying the Divine Strategy Alliance’s two-headed snake Alliance Flag, Luo Sen cracked a grin, revealing a mouthful of red teeth. He gave a little up-and-down wave, clearly thinking he looked cute.

”Um...”

Su Zhi hung his head and stuck his hands in his pockets, shrinking into himself. The sight made Shao Ya, who was standing beside him, struggle desperately to hold back her laughter.

He didn’t really want to be here. He also didn’t understand why a Divine Strategy Alliance tent was pitched in the camp of an earthquake relief force...

”All data related to the earthquake must be recorded by my Alliance. This is a time-consuming and laborious project. In fact, if you look through past records, you can see the Divine Strategy Alliance’s contributions.”

Luo Sen saw his confusion and explained leisurely.

”Besides, this wasn’t a simple earthquake. It also involves Restrictions and a Secret Realm from the Classical Era... wouldn’t you say, Su Zhi?”

Realization dawned on Shao Ya’s face. She looked at Su Zhi in surprise. ”We couldn’t find you before... was it because you were drawn into a Secret Realm? And you only just got out?”

”That’s right.” Su Zhi nodded.

’In fact, even if Luo Sen hadn’t come looking for him, he would’ve had to find time to seek out Luo Sen himself. With such a powerful backer available, how could he pass up the chance to latch on?’

Shao Ya blinked. ”Ooh, are you going to talk business now? Should I make myself scarce?”

”In principle, yes.”

Luo Sen joked, ”However, considering Su Zhi is still a minor, we’ll make an exception and let family stay to accompany him.”

”Alright! Thank you, Alliance Leader!” Shao Ya bounced on the spot.

Su Zhi watched her excitedly take a seat, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. He then collected his thoughts and recounted his experiences in the Secret Realm from start to finish, leaving out only the part about adding points.

Luo Sen nodded from time to time with great interest.

Shao Ya’s mouth hung slightly agape, completely captivated by the story.

So, the Secret Realm was inhabited, and it even had an Earthquake Beast she had never heard of. What surprised her even more was that the legendary historical figure, Elder Tuoba Jing, was actually inside the Secret Realm...

As Shao Ya listened, she felt like she had ants in her pants.

’Damn it! Why couldn’t I have been the one who was buried?!’

’Discussing the Dao of Beast Taming with a classical master... how cool is that?!’

”...Finally, I found myself back in the Current World, and then I was dug out.” Su Zhi at last finished his tale.

’Good grief. No wonder Dad’s such a slacker and refuses to use voice-to-text. If you’re not good at organizing your thoughts, it’s absolute torture.’
