Chapter 539: Chapter 225: Traitorous King of Yan! Zhao Feng Hates Traitors Most! Orders Total Annihilation!

Zhao Feng raised his hand, his eyes carrying an unprecedented seriousness.

The act of the King of Yan.

A betrayal of the Huaxia People.

Once it spreads, it will be reviled by the world.

It’s known that throughout history, those who betray their people will be scorned by their own and deemed a traitor.

”The whole army, array in formation.”

”Prepare to attack.”

Zhao Feng instructed.

He then spurred his horse and charged towards Ji City.

”The entire army, heed the order.”

”Prepare for battle.”

Zhang Han immediately issued the command.

Atop the tower of Ji City.

Watching the Qin Army arraying themselves.

All the defending soldiers on Ji City wore solemn expressions.

After the Yan State Border Army was mobilized, the garrison was almost entirely composed of frontier soldiers, powerful in combat and seasoned veterans of battles against foreign tribes.

The King of Yan naturally relied on them to hold the line.

”General Gongsun.”

”A Qin Cavalryman has arrived.”

The Imperial Guard Commander said to the border army’s Main General, Gongsun Guang.

”It should be a call to surrender; there’s no need to panic.” Gongsun Guang said in a deep voice.

The Imperial Guard Commander also nodded, saying no more.

Although the King of Yan appointed him as the defense commander, he didn’t boast many military accomplishments and wasn’t perfected in leading troops, so he greatly relied on Gongsun Guang next to him.

Very soon.

Zhao Feng rode up to the front of the city.

”Who is the Main General atop the city?”

Zhao Feng shouted in a cold voice.

Gongsun Guang looked towards the Imperial Guard Commander beside him.

”General Gongsun.”

”Though the Great King appointed me to oversee the defense, the defense is manned entirely by frontier troops. You can inquire what this Qin General intends.” the Imperial Guard Commander immediately said.

Gongsun Guang nodded, then stepped forward, addressing Zhao Feng below the city: ”I am Gongsun Guang.”

”I, Commandant of the Wu’an Military Camp, Shangjiangjun Zhao Feng of Qin.”

Zhao Feng lifted his head and spoke in a deep voice.

”Zhao Feng.”

”You...”

At hearing this name.

Gongsun Guang, the Imperial Guard Commander, and all the defending soldiers on the city wall were shocked.

They didn’t expect Zhao Feng to dare be so bold as to come alone below the city.

If a volley of arrows were shot, it would be a certain death situation.

”I’ve long admired General Zhao Feng’s name.”

”However, if General Zhao has come to persuade surrender, it’s unnecessary.”

”Though our Yan is weak, under the royal decree, we will not surrender,” Gongsun Guang said solemnly.

”Today I come here to speak of one matter only.”

”If, after hearing it, you still choose to be loyal to the King of Yan, then after we break the city, not a single soldier shall be spared.”

Zhao Feng said coldly, with an unprecedented chilling sharpness in his voice.

Gongsun Guang’s expression remained unchanged, but he was inwardly shocked and hurriedly said: ”During battles, emissaries are not to be killed. Speak of your business, Shangjiangjun.”

”The King of Yan has forgotten the ancestors, allied with foreign tribes.”

”Now, the foreign tribes have already moved south into Yan’s territory.”

”Are you aware of this?”

Zhao Feng shouted coldly, with True Qi enhancing his voice, making it heard across most of the city wall.

”What?”

Gongsun Guang’s face changed, as did the Imperial Guard Commander beside him.

”Impossible.”

”My King would never be so foolish.”

”Foreign tribes are like wolves; My King would never ally with foreign tribes.”

”Shangjiangjun Zhao Feng, cease your nonsense,” Gongsun Guang said, full of disbelief.

”This is intelligence from our Qin spies, see for yourself.”

Zhao Feng couldn’t be bothered to say more.

He directly took out the secret report, crumpled it up, and tossed it towards the city wall.

The secret report landed beside Gongsun Guang.

The latter hurriedly picked it up and looked at it.

As he read the secret report.

Gongsun Guang’s face turned deathly pale.

Before his eyes.

Was only one sentence: ”The Donghu army has moved south, no troops guarding the Yan Border, Xiangping on the Yan Border has fallen to the foreign tribes, a massacre, very few survivors.”

”No, this can’t be.”

”How could the King ally with foreign tribes?”

”When the king redeployed the troops, he said, our frontier troops will withdraw first, followed by other forces to guard the border.”

”How could this happen?” Gongsun Guang was trembling all over, as if he had lost his soul.

He was originally from Xiangping; although he had family held as hostages in Ji City, he also had many family members in Xiangping.

The Imperial Guard Commander beside him took a peek, and his face was equally pale.

”The King of Yan allied with foreign tribes, intending to use their power to resist our Qin.”

”This is why he removed the border troops,” Zhao Feng said coldly.

Gongsun Guang lifted his head dejectedly, his eyes bloodshot, staring at Zhao Feng: ”General Zhao, is this... true?”

”Though in warfare, deception is not to be shunned.”

”But this time, Qin’s troops already stand before Ji City, we can break the city in a day’s time, hardly enough to use such a ruse.”

”I suppose you, being Yan’s frontier defenders, know the ferocity of the foreign tribes, each moment wasted means more innocent people in Yan’s northern frontier will fall to foreign slaughter.”

”Though there are divisions in Shenzhou, all are Huaxia.”

”I am here to persuade a surrender for the sake of the Huaxia People.”

”Of course.”

”Regardless of whether you believe it, I will withdraw and immediately launch an assault.”

”At that time.”

”Not a single Yan soldier will be spared.”

Zhao Feng lifted his head, eyes releasing a cold and sharp killing intent.

In conflicts between nations, it might be possible to spare surrendered troops.

But if there’s no grand principle of ethnical unity, Zhao Feng would be merciless.

Because they don’t deserve to live.

Zhao Feng looked again at the Yan Border Army soldiers atop the city wall with complex emotions.

Then loudly said: ”Soldiers of the Yan Border Army, the King of Yan has allied with foreign tribes, betraying our people, disloyal and unrighteous. If you still choose to serve such a traitor, I, Zhao Feng, swear, upon breaking the city, not a single Yan soldier will be spared.”

After saying this.

Zhao Feng didn’t pay attention to the vastly changed expressions of the Yan soldiers on the city wall.

He spurred his horse to turn away, leaving one last statement: ”In half a stick of incense’s time, I will lead the army to attack the city!”

”At that time.”

”No rest until death.”
