Chapter 533: Chapter 223: Colluding with Foreign Tribes? Qin, Ying Zheng’s Satisfaction!

”If we request the Donghu to dispatch troops, can they truly hold off the Qin?”

Seeing Sima Lin, the King of Yan immediately asked with a tone of anxiety.

At this point in time,

it seemed as if the countdown to the nation’s demise had already begun.

The King of Yan ultimately abandoned the bottom line in his heart, seeking to collude with foreign tribes to use them to protect his Yan from extinction.

”The battle strength of the Donghu is something Great King is surely aware of.”

”As long as they are willing to send troops, the Qin can certainly be repelled.” Sima Lin responded immediately.

”But the Qin Army numbers three hundred thousand, perhaps even more could be mobilized. How many troops can the Donghu muster?” the King of Yan promptly asked.

”Although the Donghu population is not as large as our Yan, their entire tribe is capable of combat. Once war breaks out, the Donghu can easily mobilize four to five hundred thousand troops.”

”At present, the strength of the Donghu surpasses that of the Xiongnu.” Sima Lin replied quickly.

”What cost must we pay to induce the Donghu to dispatch their troops?” the King of Yan asked instantly.

”This...I have been to the Donghu and met the King of Donghu.”

”To get them to dispatch troops, perhaps we must cede land,” Sima Lin tentatively suggested.

Upon hearing this!

The King of Yan hesitated not a moment, stood directly and approached Sima Lin.

”Sima, my beloved minister.”

”I command you to secretly go to the Donghu State, negotiate with the King of Donghu on my behalf, and agree to anything within the means of my Yan.”

”Of course.”

”All conditions will apply only after the Donghu aids us in repelling the Qin Army.” The King of Yan quickly added.

Upon hearing this.

A gleam of joy flashed in Sima Lin’s eyes, but he swiftly suppressed it. His face blossomed into an expression of excitement as he knelt and bowed to the King of Yan: ”Thank you for your trust, Great King. I will not disappoint you.”

”However.”

”Since Great King has decided to seek aid from the Donghu.”

”The seventy thousand frontier soldiers stationed at the border can be redeployed to defend Ji City, thereby buying more time for defense,” Sima Lin proposed.

In response,

The King of Yan pondered briefly, then nodded: ”You’re right.”

”Redeploying these forces will make the capital even safer, and the Donghu’s reinforcements will be able to mobilize more swiftly in the future.”

”I will issue you an order to command the generals guarding the frontier to quickly lead their troops back to Ji City.”

Sima Lin immediately accepted the order: ”I accept the decree.”

Once Sima Lin had retired,

the King of Yan’s eyes flickered with a hint of struggle.

”Ancestors of the Yan through the ages.”

”Now that the nation is on the brink of destruction, I truly have no other way.”

”If not for the sake of preserving the country, I would never collude with foreign tribes.”

”I do not wish to become a prisoner of the Qin, to be at its mercy.”

”As long as the nation can be preserved, I am willing to pay any price.” In his heart, the King of Yan encouraged himself.

He could even foresee the infamous reputation he would bear once the Donghu army marched into Yan, collaborating with foreign tribes, traitor to the Huaxia people, even being infamous for eternity.

But the King of Yan cared not.

As long as the nation could be preserved, as long as power remained in his grasp, it was all worthwhile.

His gaze shifted!

Qin, Xianyang City.

On the throne, Ying Zheng looked upon the battle report in his hand, a gentle smile on his face.

”Zhao Gao.”

After reading, Ying Zheng passed the battle report to Zhao Gao beside him.

”Yes.”

Zhao Gao respectfully took up the battle report, turned around, and faced the full assembly of civil and military officials, declaring loudly: ”Military Sima of Wu’an Camp Kuaipu reports!”

”Recently, the Wu’an Military Camp’s troops approached Yuyang.”

”Yan Shangjiangjun Qing Qin, Yan Shangjiangjun Yue Cheng commanded an army of three hundred thousand to defend this city.”

”Shangjiangjun, after consideration, decided that an all-out assault, though capable of breaching the city, would result in heavy losses for Wu’an Camp, so he sent someone into the city to win over Yan Shangjiangjun Yue Cheng.”

”In truth, using recruitment as a guise, strategy as the foundation.”

”Yue Cheng feigned allegiance, willing to cooperate from the inside and open the city in submission, when in fact he intended to lure our army into an ambush.”

”When Shangjiangjun sent people to recruit Yue Cheng, he saw through Yue Cheng’s intentions, turning the plot on its head, and directly dispatched his cavalry main camp to charge into Yuyang’s East City, killing as they went.”

”During the assault, Shangjiangjun personally led the main forces to attack Yuyang’s West City, capturing it in one bold stroke.”

”After three days of fierce fighting, they successfully seized Yuyang’s outer city, trapping the remaining Yan Army within Yuyang’s Inner City.”

”With the Yan Army besieged, Shangjiangjun ordered psychological tactics to undermine the Yan Army’s morale, and by the fourth day, Yan Shangjiangjun Qing Qin surrendered with his troops. After surrendering, Qing Qin took his own life before Shangjiangjun, who ordered a respectful burial.”

”With minimal losses, they captured more than 300,000 Yan Army soldiers.”

”The great victory at Yuyang.”

Zhao Gao’s voice resonated throughout the entire court.

With such war achievements announced,

the entire court fell into a hushed silence.

All were stunned by this military accomplishment.

And Ying Zheng, quite pleased with this development, glanced around, visibly delighted.
