Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 344: Chapter 285: Hoy’s Thoughts, Skeleton War King

According to the data previously compiled by Zong Shen, some informational insights can be analyzed.

Zombies and Sharp-toothed Worms account for almost 95.2% of the entire Burrow Monsters respawn population. Gargoyles make up about 4%, while Ghostly Demonesses account for 0.8%.

Therefore, Zombies and Sharp-toothed Worms are the real mainstays of the burrows, always leading the charge.

Analyzing based on this proportion, the massive burrow monster swarm is not as terrifying as imagined.

After all, even Burrow Zombies and Sharp-toothed Worms with strength increased to Level 6 are just weaklings.

However, with the cooperation of various monsters, these burrow monster swarms can easily sweep through general territories without any problem, just like this territory in front of us, the clash between both sides has just begun.

Once those seventy or eighty Gargoyles in the sky start moving, and the Ghostly Demonesses begin using their control skills, it signifies that the battle has officially started.

For now, it’s nothing more than a warm-up phase, with cannon fodder leading the way. However, even so, this Lord still looks as if facing a formidable enemy.

The defense and layout of his territory are quite commendable, especially the five-meter-wide ring-shaped moat, which plays a significant role, along with the hate value attraction mechanism. At this moment, the main attack direction of monsters is precisely a reserved entrance about three meters wide.

The entrance extends five or six meters on both sides, entirely isolated by obstacles and trenches. Monsters wanting to attack, restrained by the hate value setting, can only enter from the front end of the entrance.

This setup is very similar to Zong Shen’s tactic of blocking the passage at the burrow frontline, also using the monster’s hate value attraction mechanism to limit the terrain.

In this comparison, the distinctions among the Lords become even more pronounced.

Zhang Zihao’s territory cannot compare in any aspect to this one in front of us.

If Zong Shen had defended this territory yesterday afternoon, eliminating those tens of thousands of burrow monsters would have been even easier.

Zong Shen and his side have just undergone a night’s rest, their condition is at its peak.

They start slicing and strangling the burrow monsters from the rear like cutting grass.

Hoy, who joined the territory ever since purchasing from Zong Shen, just hasn’t pledged allegiance, hence doesn’t have the Lord Level authority.

At this moment, Hoy stands beside the Mages in the rear row, looking shockingly at the massive burrow monster swarm in front, watching Zong Shen leading the charge, spearheading the warriors and slicing into this monster swarm like a sharp knife.

The comparison and contrast in quantity easily bring about a visual shock.

”This... there are so many undead creatures here.”

”And some rare burrow creatures...”

”The Army of Alonwa Kingdom stands idly by?”

Hoy was very shocked, but also puzzled. Such a large-scale appearance of undead creatures and burrow creatures in the kingdom territory, yet neither the kingdom army nor local forces come to clear them?

Such situations occasionally occur on the continent, aside from the few undead resting places and the burrow creatures living underground all year round. Every few decades or every century, some sealed undead nests emerge, or burrow creatures inexplicably riot.

However, those undead nests and burrow tribes tend to scale from a few hundred to a thousand at most. After ravaging several villages, they would be exterminated by the kingdom army and knight order.

A burrow monster swarm of this scale in front of us is extremely rare and should have attracted the kingdom’s attention long ago.

Hoy finds it very confusing, not having sworn loyalty yet and no one discussing the burrow challenge with him, he knows little about the territory’s many affairs.

Yet this doesn’t stop him from observing Zong Shen and their battle. He has witnessed the Bang City Army of Gothic Castle engaging those roving bandits. A Bang City-level army mostly consists of Tier Two Warriors, with a few Tier Three Warriors and a single-digit number of Tier Four Warriors.

Generally, a place like Gothic Castle, located in the kingdom’s heartland, relatively peaceful and serene, has between three hundred to five hundred permanently stationed Bang City Army, sufficient to ensure the defense of the Bang City and its subordinate villages.

Larger Bang Cities have occasionally seven or eight hundred permanently stationed Bang City Army, but very few Bang Cities will have over a thousand permanently stationed Bang City Army. Of course, this does not include some strategically located Bang Cities on the borderlands or adjacent to certain alien races.

Those border Bang Cities are mostly strategic-level fortress cities, permanently stationing one thousand to three thousand-level Bang City Army, along with branches of the Kingdom Knight Order and various regional Knight Orders active in the borderlands.

The more Bang City Army present, the greater the burden on the affiliated Bang City. Aside from training costs, the military supplies, salaries, food consumption, and material consumption of the Bang City Army each month are not a small amount, all of which the Bang City must resolve on its own. The Giant City will only provide some assistance during recruitment and training.

Hoy deeply understands this. Though Gothic City State is peaceful, its defense expenditure is also significant. The annual tenancy tax may seem considerable, but one-third is needed to meet the Bang City Army’s expense, another third for repairing and building infrastructure inside and outside the Bang City and subordinate villages.

The remaining third is at the disposition of the Viscount, used for family expenses and providing salaries to servants, stewards, and managers like Hoy.

With this setup, income from tenancy tax basically leaves no surplus.
