Fated to My Billionaire Husband

”I won’t eat anymore either; let’s rest for a bit and then leave.”

Li Mingxi quickly called over the waiter to clear away the food.

Li Mingxi used to love good food, even when she was full, she couldn’t bear to put down her chopsticks.

But now, she eats less than a cat during a meal.

And seeing food, it’s as if she’s seeing something she wants to avoid.

What’s wrong with her?

Xiao Lang’s heart sank.

”Do you want something to drink?” he asked.

Li Mingxi thought for a moment and nodded, ”Okay, I’d like some hawthorn juice.”

Xiao Lang ordered hawthorn juice for himself as well, and after taking a sip of the cold and sweet-sour juice, Li Mingxi felt much better.

”How long have you been like this?” Xiao Lang suddenly asked.

Li Mingxi looked up in surprise, ”What did you say?”

”How long have you been unable to eat?”

Li Mingxi laughed, ”I eat every day; who said I can’t eat?”

Xiao Lang’s expression was icy, ”I don’t think there’s any need for you to hide it; I can see for myself!”

Li Mingxi stubbornly refused to admit it, ”Really, no. It’s just that I haven’t been feeling well these past two days, so I can’t eat.”

”Perhaps I could visit your parents today,” Xiao Lang said out of nowhere.

”Why would you visit them?!” Li Mingxi was very puzzled.

Xiao Lang snorted, ”To tell them about your condition; I think they’ll naturally observe and judge.”

Li Mingxi was instantly furious, her anger turning into laughter.

”Who do you think you are? My business is none of your concern! How I am is none of your business, so you’d better not meddle in my life!”

Xiao Lang pressed his lips together, obviously angered by her words.

But Li Mingxi didn’t want to worry her parents, nor did she want to continue lingering with Xiao Lang.

She stood up and said lightly, ”I’ve finished eating, I have something to do, I’ll head out first!”

”Li Mingxi, do you have to ruin your body like this?!”

Xiao Lang’s voice sounded from behind.

Li Mingxi did not turn back; shortly after, she walked out of the hotel.

She didn’t want to be like this either, but she truly couldn’t eat...

Li Mingxi took a cab back home, just as her family was making tangyuan for a late-night snack.

Her mother asked her to have a bowl too. Li Mingxi smiled and said, ”Mom, I’ve just eaten, I’m very full.”

Her mother looked at her body and couldn’t help but complain.

”What’s happened to you lately? You’re getting skinnier. Starting tomorrow, you have to come home for meals.”

”Mom, did Xiao Lang call you?!” Li Mingxi immediately retorted.

Her mother was very perplexed, ”Why would Xiao Lang call me?”

”Nothing, I just ran into him on the road; he said he wanted to visit you. I thought you were making tangyuan to entertain him.”

Her mother now disliked Xiao Lang, ”He didn’t call me; you tell him not to come to our house!”

”Okay!”

”By the way, I’ve found a few nice candidates for you; take some time to meet them. I’m not pressuring you; it’s just that seeing more will help you find the right one.” Her mother’s face was gentle and kind as she spoke.

Li Mingxi found it difficult to reject her mother’s intentions.

”I understand, you can arrange it.”

”Then I’ll arrange it for you?”

”Mm.” Li Mingxi nodded, then walked upstairs.

Marriage and having children felt like a huge mountain, pressing down on Li Mingxi so hard that she could hardly breathe.

She walked wearily into her bedroom, suddenly feeling disheartened and as if life held no joy.

Just as she had this thought, a shiver ran through her, bringing her back to her senses.
