Fated to My Billionaire Husband

But just giving up on her like this, he couldn’t do it...

She had already occupied his heart, his soul. Giving her up, what would be left of his world?

”Xiao Lang, please respect me, okay?” Li Mingxi suddenly pleaded.

She had already asked him; what else could he do?

Should he really bind her to him so she couldn’t leave him?

Not to mention that doing so wouldn’t win Li Mingxi’s heart, he couldn’t bear to harm her like that.

Xiao Lang didn’t know how much strength it took to finally speak: ”Tomorrow is your birthday. After seven in the evening, I’ll be waiting for you at the Wanderer’s Restaurant, and I’ll formally propose to you.

I don’t care about our future, I don’t mind; I just want to seize the present.

If you figure things out, come find me. If you don’t come... I’ll let go of you and won’t pester you anymore.”

After saying this, Xiao Lang suddenly got up and walked towards the door.

He opened the door, stepped out, then closed it again.

Li Mingxi stood there motionless in shock—

Finally, was she going to completely break off with him?

She should have been relieved, yet her heart was clogged with unease, deeply uncomfortable.

...

Li Mingxi didn’t stay long at Xiao Lang’s place before returning to her own house.

Lying in bed, her mind echoed with Xiao Lang’s words.

He was giving her one last chance; he shouldn’t have given her the last chance.

Would it be bad to just break off like that?

Why make her struggle and suffer for another day?

Yet her decision would not change.

No matter how many chances Xiao Lang gave her, she would not change her decision.

Doing that would only hurt himself...

Li Mingxi felt very uncomfortable; that night, she suffered from insomnia.

Similarly, Xiao Lang also suffered from insomnia.

...

The next day, Li Mingxi opened her eyes and woke up to find the sun already up.

Just as she was about to get out of bed, she heard her phone ringing.

It was her mother calling, and Li Mingxi propped herself up and answered the call.

”Hello, Mom, what’s up?”

”Don’t go to work today; come home,” her mother’s tone was not to be refused.

Li Mingxi didn’t ask much: ”Alright, I understand.”

She got up, went to the bathroom to freshen up, only to find her eyes were red and swollen.

Did she cry last night?!

Li Mingxi firmly refused to admit that she cried.

After freshening up, she got some ice to reduce the swelling, and it took quite a while for her eyes to return to normal.

After getting everything ready, Li Mingxi exited and couldn’t help but glance towards Xiao Lang’s door.

Xiao Lang’s door was closed, not knowing if he was home or not.

Li Mingxi looked for a while before heading to the elevator to go home.

...

Back at home, walking into the living room, she found everyone was there, even Li Mingchen!

Such a rare guest...

Li Mingxi smiled and said, ”What, is today a special day or something? Everyone’s here.”

Smiling, she walked over and sat down leaning against Grandma Li.

Grandma Li smiled and said, ”Isn’t it your birthday today? Did you forget your own birthday?”

”Are you planning to celebrate my birthday?”

”Of course, we should celebrate.” Grandma Li nodded.

Li Mingchen teased, ”How many times do you turn 35 in a lifetime? Of course, we must celebrate.”

Li Mingxi grabbed a throw pillow and tossed it at him; Li Mingchen caught it with a laugh, and their mother helplessly gave her son a look.

”Knowing that your sister is getting older, why do you intentionally provoke her?”
