Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Li Mingxi snapped back to reality, trying to look spirited.

”Mom, I’m fine.”

”Don’t drink that much alcohol from now on, it’s really bad for your health.”

”Was it Li Qian who brought me back yesterday?” Li Mingxi couldn’t help asking.

Li’s mother nodded, ”Was it him who brought you back? Did you go drinking with him? Mingxi, didn’t you say you were going to spend last night with Xiao Lang? Why wasn’t it Xiao Lang who brought you back?”

Li Mingxi lowered her voice, ”I never said I would spend it with Xiao Lang.”

”What do you mean by that?” Li’s mother suddenly noticed something was wrong, ”What happened between you and Xiao Lang? And what’s going on with you and Li Qian?”

”Mom, I’m sorry...” As soon as Li Mingxi said this, she immediately rushed into the bathroom and shut the door.

Li’s mother froze for a moment, feeling a bad premonition.

However, she soon calmed down, deciding to interrogate Li Mingxi properly later.

...

Li Mingxi took a shower, brushed her teeth, washed her face, and finally came out wrapped in a bathrobe.

She found her mother still in her room.

Li’s mother was sitting on her bed, and when she saw her come out, she stood up and said, ”Mingxi, you better tell me clearly, what exactly is going on with you guys?”

”...” Li Mingxi didn’t know how to start.

The more she acted like this, the more anxious Li’s mother became.

”Say something, are you trying to drive me crazy?”

”Mom, can you please stop asking?”

”How can I not ask? You’re about to get married, and now you’re like this. How can I not be concerned about you, how can I not be anxious?”

Li Mingxi pursed her lips, deciding to have a proper talk with her mother.

”Mom, I will not marry Xiao Lang. I don’t want to choose him, so please stop tying me to him. Also, I will get married, don’t worry, I will definitely find someone to marry... just, please give me some time, okay?”

Li’s mother widened her eyes in shock, ”Why won’t you be with Xiao Lang? Did you guys have a fight or something?”

”No, I didn’t fight with him, I just never thought of marrying him.” Li Mingxi said blandly, ”All along, it was you and others who were satisfied with Xiao Lang, but I don’t want to be with him, it’s that simple.”

Li’s mother raised her hand, wanting to hit her a couple of times, but couldn’t bring herself to do it.

”What’s wrong with Xiao Lang? Why won’t you choose him?”

”He’s great everywhere.”

”Then why won’t you choose him?! Mingxi, now is not the time to be willful! Xiao Lang is a good person, he loves you, marrying him is your best choice. Can you please be rational? Mom won’t harm you, you’ll only find happiness if you marry him!”

Li’s mother was very anxious, she almost wanted to pry open Li Mingxi’s head to see what she was thinking.

Li Mingxi clutched the bathrobe in front of her chest, holding back the spasms in her heart, and said.

”Mom, the truth is I simply don’t want to get married... But since you all want me to, I will find someone to marry...”

”You...” Li’s mother was shocked speechless.

Li Mingxi dared not look at her mother’s expression, ”Mom, I’m sorry, let me be in charge of my own life. Don’t worry, I will find someone to marry, but that’s all I can do. Don’t tell Grandma about this, I’m afraid she can’t handle it...”

”Aren’t you afraid I can’t handle it?!” Li’s mother asked painfully.

”Mom, I’m sorry, I’m in so much pain right now, my head is a mess, can you let me calm down for a few days?”

Li’s mother did not want to let her go so easily.
