Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 717: Chapter 730: Wife, are you awake?

Mu Xingfeng!

The scene of the drug dealer raising the rocket launcher replayed before her eyes. An Ran subconsciously clenched her fists, realizing her hand was wrapped in a warm, large palm.

All the white surroundings and the faint smell of disinfectant in the air finally made her certain that she was in a hospital now.

The tiny movement in her palm startled the man leaning by the bedside awake.

Mu Xingfeng lifted his head. His eyes were not the least bit sleepy, with a sharp gaze like a leopard prowling in the night.

However, when he saw the girl on the bed, he hesitantly rubbed his eyes, his deep eyes full of incredulous joy. He stared unblinking at the girl on the bed, afraid that if he blinked, it would turn out to be just a hallucination.

Had his girl woken up?

Was he not dreaming?

Mu Xingfeng slowly reached out his hand, wanting to touch but not daring to, hovering it just above An Ran’s cheek.

An Ran looked at the powerful hand she remembered, now trembling slightly less than twenty centimeters from her. Sympathy surged uncontrollably in her heart.

The moment she fell into the water, Mu Xingfeng’s heart-wrenching shouts still echoed in her ears.

Had she scared him again?

Looking at the bloodshot eyes and the stubble emerging on his chin, she realized that she had never seen him so disheveled.

”Mu Xingfeng~”

The girl’s soft voice broke the silence between them, like a stone dropped into a still lake, creating ripples.

Mu Xingfeng’s hand finally descended, gently touching the girl’s smooth, jade-like face, slowly stroking it. His eyes reddened involuntarily, ”Honey, you’re awake?”

Guilt, self-blame, worry, heartache.

All these emotions converged into this one sentence.

However, the next moment, the girl’s gaze landed on his chin. Pouting her cherry blossom-like lips, she murmured, ”So ugly.”

Instantly, the deep emotion on Mu Xingfeng’s face cracked.

This brat, he had worried about her for so long, and the first thing she said when she saw him was to despise him.

Mu Xingfeng withdrew his hand, touched the stubble on his chin, and brought the small hand he had been holding to his chin, gently rubbing it, instantly eliciting a light laugh from the girl, ”No, it’s too prickly.”

Though still words of disdain, to Mu Xingfeng they were sweeter than any words of love. At this moment, he truly believed that his little wife had woken up.

”Honey, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere? I’ll call the doctor to check you out.”

As he spoke, Mu Xingfeng was about to get up, but An Ran grabbed him, ”Mu Xingfeng, I’m fine, really, except that my hand hurts a bit from your stubble. Don’t go, stay with me for a while, okay?”

Mu Xingfeng held her small hand back, gently kissing the back of the pricked hand, ”Honey, be good. You’ve been in a coma for four days. Let me call the doctor to check on you. After that, I’ll stay with you forever.”

Four days? An Ran didn’t expect that she had slept for four days. No wonder Mu Xingfeng looked so exhausted. Had he stayed by her side the whole time, without proper rest?

The doctor from the Imperial City was in the room next door, always on standby. Hearing Mu Xingfeng’s call, he quickly came over.

After checking all the devices connected to An Ran’s body and performing some simple tests on her, he finally comforted Mu Xingfeng, ”Congratulations, Young Master Mu, Miss An’s body is no longer in serious condition.”
