Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 185: Chapter 197: The Second Eldest’s Girlfriend

”You’re awake, Xingfeng? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?” Lin Ruonan sat up straight, her eyes bright as she looked at Mu Xingfeng, unable to hide her joy.

Mu Xingfeng didn’t speak, but looked at his hand that was still being held.

Lin Ruonan then realized that she had been holding his hand all this time without letting go. She awkwardly withdrew her hand and tidied the strands of hair near her ear.

”I’ll go call the doctor.”

She had admired Mu Xingfeng for so many years. How could she not know about his habits? He had a mild case of germaphobia; if it weren’t for the mission, he wouldn’t like women getting too close to him.

The doctor came to check and the results were very good. Mu Xingfeng’s various indicators had returned to normal. Even the director couldn’t help but sigh, ”As expected of Young Master Mu. If it were an average person, with the bullet so close to the heart and delayed for so long, they probably wouldn’t have survived.”

Not long after, the Mu family members and Gu Haoyu’s brothers also arrived. Mu Xingfeng had already been transferred to a regular ward. The doctor explained Mu Xingfeng’s condition to them, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief after hearing it.

”Xingfeng, mom made some chicken soup for you. Would you like to drink a little?” He Yushu placed the thermos on the cabinet by the bed.

”Auntie, let me do it.” Lin Ruonan took the soup bowl, poured a bowl of chicken soup, and brought it to Mu Xingfeng’s bed.

”I’ll drink it later.” Mu Xingfeng was still very weak at this moment and naturally needed someone to feed him. He didn’t want to trouble Lin Ruonan.

As if seeing through his thoughts, Lin Ruonan lowered her eyes, ”Xingfeng, don’t think too much. You took this bullet for me. Please let me take care of you for a few days to make me feel better, okay?”

Lin Ruonan’s words were sincere, without too much emotion. It only made people feel that she was doing this purely to repay him for taking the bullet.

He Yushu had always thought that Ruonan was a good girl, steady and generous. Both families were noble, and with the same profession as her son, they should have more in common.

This time, hearing that Mu Xingfeng took the bullet for her, after her initial worry, she felt a bit of comfort. It seemed that her son had feelings for Ruonan.

Moreover, seeing Lin Ruonan taking care of Mu Xingfeng day and night these past few days, He Yushu was even more certain that the two had a chance. It’s just that both of them had cold personalities and weren’t good at expressing themselves.

”Xingfeng, you need someone to take care of you now. If you have someone in mind, let your dad send for them.”

”Yeah, little brother, didn’t you say you had a girlfriend the last time? Should we bring her over to take care of you for a few days? I also want to see the kind of girl that made this iron tree blossom,” Mu Wanxin teased as she remembered the matter from a while ago at her mother’s words.

”What girlfriend? How come I haven’t heard about it?” Chen Yankun also stuck his head over, curiously looking at Mu Xingfeng.

Lin Ruonan’s body slightly stiffened when she heard Mu Wanxin’s words, and her complexion turned paler.

Gu Haoyu frowned slightly, moving unobtrusively closer to Lin Ruonan, ”Second Brother’s girlfriend? I haven’t heard about it either. Junyang, did you know?”

Lin Junyang chuckled dryly, having just noticed that the face of the person on the hospital bed had already darkened. Recently, Boss Mu and Tuzi seemed to be having a disagreement. Asking him about this matter now, how could he dare to reveal anything?

”How would I know if Second Brother has a girlfriend? I don’t know... don’t know.”
