Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 182: Chapter 194: Emergency Surgery

Mu Wanxin took a step forward and supported her mother’s trembling arm, ”Mom, don’t be like this, if Xingfeng is here, he will be fine.”

As she spoke, the medical staff had already transported the injured down, and He Yushu broke free from her husband and daughter and rushed over.

”Xingfeng, Xingfeng, open your eyes and look at mom!”

On the hospital bed, Mu Xingfeng was covered in blood, his cold and beautiful face pale, his sexy thin lips devoid of color, eyes tightly closed, with an oxygen mask covering most of his face, showing no response to He Yushu’s cries.

”How is the patient now?” The director of the Military General Hospital asked the accompanying doctor.

”The patient has a gunshot wound to the chest, very close to the heart. It has been three hours since the injury, severe blood loss, we have performed a transfusion, but the bullet is still inside,” the accompanying doctor said concisely.

The director nodded in understanding, ”Minister Mu, we need to operate immediately.”

Mu Zhenzong helped He Yushu up, nodded to the director, ”Please do your best.”

The director quickly led the medical staff to transport the injured to the top floor operating room, which was equipped with the most advanced medical equipment in the Empire.

Mu Zhenzong and Mu Wanxin supported He Yushu, following the medical staff, disappearing down the hallway in an instant.

It wasn’t until the medical staff escorted Mu Xingfeng away that Lin Ruonan staggered off the plane, losing her balance and falling forward.

Gu Haoyu caught her in his arms.

At this moment, Lin Ruonan was dressed in tattered clothing, with dried, dark bloodstains all over. Her soft short hair was messy, her face smeared with blood, sweat, and undried tears, and her eyes empty and lifeless.

In Gu Haoyu’s impression, Lin Ruonan always paid attention to her appearance, elegance and poise being her trademarks. He had never seen her in such a disheveled state, and her swollen eyes from crying made his heart tighten painfully.

He knew that Mu Xingfeng and Lin Ruonan were on a mission together, both top members of their team, but he hadn’t expected the mission to be so perilous.

”Ruonan, don’t worry, now that Xingfeng is here, he will be saved, he will be fine.” Gu Haoyu’s deep and resonant voice said with certainty, comforting Lin Ruonan and also reassuring himself.

Lin Ruonan lifted her head in a daze, her empty eyes gradually focusing. Upon seeing the person in front of her, she threw herself into Gu Haoyu’s arms and started crying.

”Brother, it’s my fault, Xingfeng got hurt saving me. If it weren’t for me, Xingfeng wouldn’t be like this.”

”What on earth happened?” Chen Yankun couldn’t help but ask.

They all knew Mu Xingfeng’s capabilities well, having attended the same school. They couldn’t understand how he got injured so severely this time.

”Enough, don’t ask now. Let’s first go and see how Xingfeng is doing,” Gu Haoyu interrupted Chen Yankun, knowing that the person’s condition was the priority at this moment.

”How are you? Are you hurt? Should we get someone to send you back to rest first?” Gu Haoyu looked at Lin Ruonan covered in bloodstains, knowing she hadn’t had a moment to care for herself amidst everything.

Lin Ruonan shook her head, ”I’m fine, I want to wait until Xingfeng comes out.”

Thinking of the moment Mu Xingfeng used his body to shield her from the bullet, Lin Ruonan’s eyes reddened again. If time could be turned back, she would rather have taken the bullet herself.

At the door of the operating room, Mu Zhenzong’s family and leaders from Nan’an who had rushed over quietly stood by. Lin Junyang, seeing Lin Ruonan, hurried over.
