Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 14: Chapter 18 Saving Someone (2)

Coming to the woman’s side, Mu Xingfeng said, ”Give me your hand, I’ll help you down.”

The woman looked warily at Mu Xingfeng, then at the life jacket on him, and shook her head.

Mu Xingfeng understood her meaning, took off his life jacket, and helped the woman put it on.

”Feel safe now? Give me your hand, I’ll help you down,” Mu Xingfeng repeated.

The woman pointed to the rope on Mu Xingfeng’s body and said matter-of-factly, ”Can you give me the rope too? I can’t swim, and if I go into the water, you can pull me along easier. Anyway, your teammate said you’re a great swimmer, so it shouldn’t make much difference for you without the rope.”

Mu Xingfeng didn’t say anything, and began untying the rope from his body.

Liu Hu saw everything clearly from the tree. He understood Mu Xingfeng giving the life jacket to the woman, but now he was untying the rope from himself too.

”Captain, this isn’t right...” Liu Hu shouted instinctively.

”I’m fine.” Mu Xingfeng interrupted Liu Hu, tying the rope around the woman’s waist.

With the life jacket and the rope, the woman felt more reassured and finally took Mu Xingfeng’s hand, allowing him to help her down.

”Alright, you can let go now,” Liu Hu shouted from below.

The woman glanced at Liu Hu below and let go, but as soon as her feet touched the water, the icy river water stung her legs, eliciting a scream of fear from her, and she reached out to grab Mu Xingfeng’s hand again.

But she was already falling, and instead of grabbing his hand, she grabbed his ankle.

After letting go of the woman’s hand, Mu Xingfeng was about to adjust his body when the woman grabbed his ankle. Since his weight was on that foot, he lost control and fell down.

Unfortunately, a dead branch on the tree scratched his back, igniting a burning pain as he fell into the water with a splash...

After the woman fell into the water, she was pleasantly surprised to find that the life jacket prevented her from choking on water. She didn’t care about what she had just grabbed, and paddled towards Liu Hu, ”Quick, take me to the shore.”

Liu Hu was staring at the spot where Mu Xingfeng fell. A vortex was rapidly forming there, sucking Mu Xingfeng in.

”Captain—” Liu Hu yelled and swam towards the spot.

”Hey—, young man, I’m here, hurry and take me to the shore.”

The woman grabbed the rope behind Liu Hu and wouldn’t let go.

”Get the hell off me!”

Liu Hu roared in anger, untied the rope from himself, and swam towards where Mu Xingfeng disappeared.

On the shore, Lin Junyang saw everything from a distance, and without a second thought, jumped into the water as he saw Mu Xingfeng fall.

”Hey, what’s with you guys? Is this how you rescue people?”

The woman kept babbling on, tugging at her rope. When she saw Lin Junyang swimming over, she was elated again, ”Comrade, comrade, quickly pull me up.”

Without even glancing at her, Lin Junyang dove straight into the water.

He saw clearly that on the dead branch hung pieces of Captain Mu’s torn clothing with bloodstains on them. His boss was injured. If he had just fallen into the water, with his boss’s swimming skills, there would still be a chance. But... he was injured.

Lin Junyang didn’t dare think any further, he just wanted to find Mu Xingfeng as soon as possible...
