Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: I Want to Rely on Myself

From behind the trees downstairs, a tall and slender figure emerged. The man’s face was fair, and his delicate features carried a hint of youthful innocence.

Ye Sheng looked at the mother and daughter laughing in the distance, his eyes surging with turbulent thoughts. It turned out An Ran had been accepted into Nan’an University. He remembered she had told him that she would also aim to attend Nan’an University in the future, so they could be in the same city.

He raised his head and glanced at the small window on the 11th floor, which was An Ran’s bedroom. At this moment, it was pitch black inside.

Already asleep so early?

Ye Sheng dialed An Ran’s number again. After a long wait, the cold mechanical voice of a woman sounded again.

An Ran stared at her phone until the two words stopped flashing, then she picked up the phone, opened the missed call, and directly blocked the number just called.

She opened the door and saw that the living room was empty. Noticing that the light in the study was still on, An Ran walked over.

”Dad, are you busy?”

An Youcai looked up at An Ran, suddenly feeling a bit guilty.

”Ran, no, I’m not busy. Is there something you need?”

”Dad, I’ve decided. I’m going to work this vacation.”

”Work? What kind of work are you going to do?” An Youcai asked puzzledly. Just as he spoke, he seemed to realize something and quickly said, ”If you want to work, you can come directly to dad’s company. With dad taking care of you, you won’t be bullied there.”

”No, Dad. I want to venture out on my own. I’ve already been a burden to this family for 15 years, and I’m an adult now. From now on, I want to rely on myself.”

The An Family had raised her into adulthood, she couldn’t ask them for anything more. From now on, she had to rely on herself.

”Ran, what are you saying? Are you resenting dad?” An Youcai asked guiltily.

An Ran saw An Youcai’s expression and for a moment felt touched. She smiled to comfort him, ”No, Dad. I’m speaking from the heart. Mom has already told me about our family’s situation, and I understand. It’s not easy for you to raise three children. Don’t take it to heart. Just let me venture out on my own.”

An Youcai looked at An Ran for a moment and finally nodded, ”Alright. You have your ideals. If dad can’t help you realize them, then you will have to rely on yourself. However, if anything happens in the future, make sure to tell dad.”

”Thank you, Dad. But you need to explain it well to mom.”

An Ran naturally understood Sun Xuehui’s temperament. To let her go out, An Youcai needed to step in.

”Don’t worry. I’ll talk to your mom. Have you decided where to go?”

An Youcai knew that since An Ran wanted to venture out, it wouldn’t be in Pingxi.

”I’ve decided to go to Linjiang. It’s closer to Nan’an, and I can get to know the situation there sooner. If possible, I’ll leave tomorrow.”

Upon hearing this, An Youcai’s eyes darkened again before he finally said, ”I’ll talk to your mom when she returns. You go and pack things well, and let me know if you need anything.”

”Alright.”

Leaving An Youcai’s study, An Ran returned to her room, opened her phone, and after some thought, called Xiao Xiao.

Xiao Xiao was her only friend here, a child from a single-parent family. Maybe due to their similar fates, they got along well. Today, Xiao Xiao had already called and texted her numerous times.
