Peerless Medical Emperor

Before long, Xiaoluke Sanrō reported the exact news to Kojima Tetsumaro.

”Mr. Kojima, during the attack on the Mingyue Group office building, Kojima Hideko’s rope was cut. He fell and nearly died. He’s now being held in the Mingyue Group’s basement, but his life is not in immediate danger.”

Kojima Tetsumaro’s heart pounded when he heard this. He let out a long sigh and said, ”What else can I do? I have to go talk to Chen Qingdi and get my brother out.”

Kojima Tetsumaro knew that Chen Qingdi was an extremely cunning man; rescuing his brother would be no easy task. But he also knew that if he didn’t get his brother out, he would be too ashamed to face his supporters.

Kojima Tetsumaro was stopped by the head of security, Qian Laoliu, so he quickly explained his purpose.

”I’m here to have a chat with Mr. Chen about an acquaintance,” Kojima Tetsumaro said with a smile. ”My younger brother was being foolish and stirred up some trouble here, and he ended up getting caught. As his older brother, I have to see this through.”

Qian Laoliu frowned after listening. He didn’t know who this Kojima Tetsumaro was, but he knew that Chen Qingdi had been in a bad mood recently and had already driven away several others who had come looking for trouble.

”Wait a moment. I’ll call him and ask,” Qian Laoliu said, dialing Chen Qingdi’s number.

”Boss, there’s a man downstairs looking for you. He says he’s an acquaintance,” Qian Laoliu said. ”His name is Kojima Tetsumaro. He says his younger brother stirred up trouble here and got caught, and now he’s here to see it through.”

Chen Qingdi was silent for a moment, then said, ”Let him come up to my office. We’ll have a ’good talk’.”

Qian Laoliu hung up and said to Kojima Tetsumaro, ”The boss says you’re to go to his office to talk.”

Kojima Tetsumaro nodded, feeling a little nervous. He knew this Chen Qingdi wouldn’t be easy to deal with and that he would have to negotiate very carefully.

He followed Qian Laoliu to the door of Chen Qingdi’s office, where Qian Laoliu gestured for him to wait. Qian Laoliu knocked on the door and went inside.

After a moment, Qian Laoliu came out and said to Kojima Tetsumaro, ”The boss will see you now.”

Kojima Tetsumaro took a deep breath and walked into the office. He saw a middle-aged man sitting behind a large desk, looking very composed. This was Chen Qingdi.

”Have a seat,” Chen Qingdi said, pointing to the chair in front of his desk.

”Mr. Chen, I heard you’ve detained my younger brother, Kojima Hideko. I don’t know why you’ve done this, but I can tell you right now, if you’re hoping to get something out of me, you’ve come to the wrong person.”

Chen Qingdi sat in his office, looking at Kojima Tetsumaro. He chuckled and said, ”Mr. Kojima, your brother attacked my company. I just want to hold him and get some answers. If you’re willing to cooperate, perhaps I could consider letting him go.”

Kojima Tetsumaro’s brow furrowed. ”What are you saying? You want to use my brother to threaten me? Mr. Chen, aren’t you going too far?”

Chen Qingdi just smiled. ”Mr. Kojima, you’re not in a very good position right now. If you don’t cooperate, I can’t guarantee your brother won’t be harmed. However, if you can help me solve a few problems, I might consider letting him go.”

A surge of anger flared in Kojima Tetsumaro’s heart. He let out a long sigh and said, ”Fine, Mr. Chen. What do you want me to do?”

Hearing this, Chen Qingdi felt a surge of secret delight. He glanced at his watch and said, ”It’s getting late. I’d like to invite you to stay and have a few drinks with me. I wonder if you’d be willing?”

Kojima Tetsumaro hesitated for a moment. He knew Chen Qingdi was not a simple man. If he didn’t cooperate, his brother might be harmed. So, he nodded and said, ”Alright.”

It was a sunny and pleasant afternoon. At the Mingyue Group headquarters in Shanghai City Center, Chairman Chen Qingdi sat in his office, looking out at the bustling city below as he unhurriedly savored his Longjing tea.

He looked at Kojima Tetsumaro, who sat opposite him, and smiled faintly. ”Mr. Kojima,” he began, ”since you’ve deigned to grace me with your presence, let’s get straight to the point.”

Hearing this, Kojima Tetsumaro’s expression grew even more tense. He said hurriedly, ”Mr. Chen, my brother has angered you, and I hope you won’t hold it against him. He’s just a young man. I hope you can let him go.”

The smile vanished from Chen Qingdi’s face. He took a deep breath and said, ”This Kojima Hideko tried to assassinate me. Do you really think I’m such a pushover? Let’s talk price.”

Kojima Tetsumaro’s expression turned even uglier. He knew he had no way out and could only bite the bullet and continue, ”Mr. Chen, I know you’re the chairman of the Mingyue Group, and you must have many things to handle. But my brother truly didn’t do it on purpose. He just lost his head.”

At this, Chen Qingdi suddenly burst out laughing. He said, ”Alright, you want to get him out. Why don’t we first take a look at his current predicament?”

Kojima Tetsumaro’s heart instantly eased. He thought his negotiation had succeeded. He quickly said, ”Thank you, Mr. Chen.”

Chen Qingdi waved a hand, gesturing for him not to be so formal. He then added, ”You just wait here for a moment. I’ll go check on your brother.”

Kojima Tetsumaro nodded gratefully. Chen Qingdi stood up and left the office. When he returned, his expression was grim. He looked at Kojima Tetsumaro and said, ”Your brother has been sent to the hospital. His condition is very bad.”

Kojima Tetsumaro was instantly panic-stricken. He quickly asked, ”Mr. Chen, what happened to my brother?”

Chen Qingdi didn’t answer his question, continuing instead, ”You want to get him out? Fine. But you’ll need to pay a fee.”

Kojima Tetsumaro instantly understood Chen Qingdi’s meaning. He quickly asked, ”How much money?”

Chen Qingdi held up a finger. ”Ten million US Dollars.”

Kojima Tetsumaro was stunned by the figure.

He didn’t know how he could possibly raise that much money, but he also knew that if he didn’t agree to Chen Qingdi’s terms, his brother might be detained here forever.

After some thought, Kojima Tetsumaro ultimately agreed to Chen Qingdi’s terms. He said, ”Fine, I agree. I will raise the money as soon as possible.”

Hearing this, a satisfied smile spread across Chen Qingdi’s face. He waved a hand, dismissing Kojima Tetsumaro.
