Transmigrating Into a Book, the Villain Becomes the White Moonlight!

97: Chapter 97 The CEO is Keeping a Young Lover”My... what?” Su Bai was truly surprised this time, his brows furrowing. ”You’re an economics major, and you’ve come to manage my game company? Lin Wan, don’t you dare run it into the ground. I’m still counting on it to produce something playable.”

Lin Wan seemed to have anticipated his reaction. She lightly crossed her arms over her chest, her posture becoming a bit more businesslike as she explained, ”I’m only responsible for some daily operational decisions and project direction suggestions. Final approvals and major matters still require Uncle Su’s confirmation and signature. Essentially, I’m more like a high-level executor and liaison.”

She paused and added, ”Of course, since you’re back, in theory, matters that require the owner’s decision-making should be reported to you from now on.”

”Oh, that’s more like it.” Hearing her say this, Su Bai’s brow immediately smoothed out, and he even nodded in satisfaction.

With his own old man keeping watch behind the scenes, he was completely at ease.

He didn’t care how much money the company made; the Su Family wasn’t lacking in that department anyway.

What he truly feared was Lin Wan messing around and ruining the game projects he was looking forward to, or making the company atmosphere a mess, leaving him without even a place to occasionally hang out and check out new games for fun.

As long as the games could be made normally and his old man handled the other troublesome matters, that was fine.

The two of them stepped into the top-floor CEO’s office.

The interior style was minimalist and sharp, with cold-toned decor and huge floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the cityscape. There wasn’t a single redundant decoration, which indeed fit Lin Wan’s consistently cold aesthetic.

On the large solid wood desk, several thick stacks of documents were neatly piled.

Su Bai didn’t stand on ceremony. He walked straight to the high-backed leather chair that clearly belonged to the boss and plopped down, the leather seat making a slight creaking sound under his weight.

He leaned back and casually pulled a folder from the top, flipping through it nonchalantly.

Lin Wan walked over to a small refreshment station and asked, ”Tea or coffee?”

”Mineral water is fine.” Su Bai didn’t even look up.

He hadn’t reached the age or mindset where he needed to show off his taste by sipping tea or rely on caffeine for energy; simple and direct was best.

Lin Wan said nothing. She took a paper cup from beside the water dispenser, filled it with warm water, walked back, and placed it gently by Su Bai’s hand.

Then, she naturally stood to one side of the executive chair, leaning in slightly. Her gaze fell on the document Su Bai was flipping through as she prompted in a steady voice, ”You’re looking at last month’s operational and financial summary. This month’s preliminary report is inside that stack with the blue cover below.”

Su Bai followed her words, flipped down, and pulled one out.

Lin Wan stayed by his side, explaining the key projects and recent trends based on the data and items in the document with clear logic and concise language.

She bent over slightly, her finger occasionally tapping the paper.

Sunlight spilled in from the side, outlining her focused profile.

If one ignored the complex background between the two, this scene really looked like a capable secretary reporting to a new boss, even faintly exuding an indescribable harmony and... chemistry?

*Knock, knock.*

Two symbolic soft sounds; the office door was already open.

A young girl wearing a well-fitted professional skirt suit, stiletto heels, and black stockings leaned in. She held a document and spoke in a crisp voice, ”President Lin, there’s an urgent approval form here that needs your sign...”

Her words came to an abrupt halt.

The girl’s eyes widened slightly, looking at the scene inside the office with disbelief—the usually cold and unapproachable President Lin was currently leaning over, her posture even bordering on submissive as she stood by the large executive chair, whispering something to the stranger, an excessively handsome young man sitting in it.

And that man was lazily leaning back in President Lin’s seat, casually flipping through documents.

The visual impact of this scene was quite strong.

”...nature.” The girl finished the last word, her voice dropping low.

”Just leave it on the desk.” Lin Wan straightened up and turned to look at the girl at the door. Her expression remained unchanged, and her voice returned to its usual professional calm.

”Oh, oh! Okay!” The girl seemed to snap out of it and hurriedly walked in, placing the document on an empty spot on the desk. However, her eyes couldn’t help but steal glances back and forth between Su Bai and Lin Wan, full of curiosity and gossipy inquiry.

”Is there anything else?” Lin Wan’s voice rang out again, a shade deeper than before, carrying a touch of the seriousness typical of a workplace.

”Uh... and, there’s more,” the girl jolted, immediately withdrawing her wandering gaze and staring at the corner of the desk to report, ”At ten-thirty, Project Department Two has a meeting regarding next quarter’s promotion plan that requires your attendance.”

”Understood,” Lin Wan replied.

”Then I’ll head out first, President Lin.” The girl felt like she’d been granted a reprieve. She didn’t dare look again and almost tiptoed as she quickly and quietly exited the office, gently closing the door behind her.

The moment the door shut, her slightly hurried footsteps could still be heard fading away.

”There’s a man in the CEO’s office! He’s super young and incredibly handsome! He was sitting right there in the boss’s chair, and President Lin was actually standing next to him giving a report!”

”Did you hear? President Lin has a young hunk hidden in her office, and she even has to stand while serving him!”

”Latest news! A pretty boy living off a woman has arrived in President Lin’s office. He’s putting on such airs, making President Lin stand while talking!”

...

The breakroom, the corners of the corridors, private chat windows on internal communication software... the news was like a drop of ink in clear water, rapidly blooming, distorting, and spreading.

Every node of transmission naturally added its own imagination and exaggeration. From standing to report to standing to serve, and then to being a pretty boy living off a woman, the wings of gossip flew further and further into the realm of the absurd, yet successfully ignited the entire company’s hidden topic for the morning.

Inside the office, completely different from the rumored tension or ambiguity, the atmosphere was one of almost boring pragmatism.

Su Bai closed the thick monthly report in his hand and casually tossed it back onto the mountain of documents on the desk.

From the data, various indicators were stable, and some sectors even showed growth that exceeded his previous estimates.

He looked up at Lin Wan, who was standing nearby, and asked in a normal tone, ”How many people are in the company in total now?”

Lin Wan thought for a moment and replied, ”Counting all functional departments, various project groups, and outsourced support teams... added together, there are nearly a thousand people. The core R&D department alone has no fewer than four hundred.”

Her answer was precise; she clearly knew these figures like the back of her hand.

The scale of Su Bai’s game company was even larger than he had imagined.

There were quite a few projects being developed simultaneously, but very few had actually been pushed to the market.

This wasn’t due to low efficiency, but rather the strategy Su Bai had set from the beginning—bombarding the market with a large number of new games at the same time would only scatter player attention and company resources. It was better to refine them meticulously and release them one by one, steadily building the reputation and user loyalty of the Su Corporation Games brand.
