Transmigrating Into a Book, the Villain Becomes the White Moonlight!

91: Chapter 91 Why Did You Throw Me Away?”Ah?”

Mu Xue swayed slightly from the pat, her eyes a bit dazed as she looked up, trying to focus through a thin mist.

Only then did Su Bai belatedly realize: Mu Xue wasn’t not drunk; rather, her signs of being drunk weren’t the usual flushed face.

Her complexion was just slightly pale, and her eyes had lost their usual sharp focus, becoming slow.

Seemingly normal, her consciousness might have actually been wobbly and departed for quite some time.

Her gaze dully followed the direction of her best friend’s finger, finally landing on Su Bai’s face.

She stared for a few seconds, as if trying to discern some blurry image.

Then, she suddenly stood up.

Her movements were a bit sluggish, her body swaying slightly, but she stubbornly walked around half the table to Su Bai’s side.

Under Su Bai’s slightly surprised gaze, she extended both hands, palms cool, and precisely pinched the soft flesh on both sides of his cheeks, like a child playing with clay, even gently pulling outwards as if confirming the sensation.

Su Bai was completely bewildered by this sudden, almost childish action. His body instinctively stiffened, and a rare hint of helplessness flickered in his eyes.

He almost instinctively looked around, seeking a rescue or at least a witness—Zhou Feng had already helped another visibly unwell girl out for some fresh air, he didn’t know when;

The Fatty and The girl he was hugging were head-to-head, arguing red-faced and spitting about the ultimate philosophical question of whether baijiu or beer was more challenging, completely oblivious to him.

In the entire boisterous private room, no one noticed Mu Xue’s unusually intimate and strange behavior.

”You look...”

Mu Xue tilted her head, leaning very close. Her breath carried a faint scent of alcohol mixed with her inherent sweet fragrance. Her eyes were hazy as she examined Su Bai’s somewhat distorted face, her voice slurred, ”You look like someone...”

Deep in her eyes, a fierce emotion seemed to surge beneath the mist, with a faint glimmer of tears.

”You’re drunk, aren’t you?” Su Bai finally found his voice, his tone attempting to maintain its usual calmness, but with an underlying tension.

He raised his hand, wanting to gently pull down her hands that were pinching his face.

However, the moment he spoke, Mu Xue’s movements abruptly froze.

Her hands, pinching his cheeks, stiffened there. Her hazy eyes seemed to be pierced by his words, becoming suddenly clear for an instant, staring directly into Su Bai’s close-up eyes.

Immediately after, without warning, large tears streamed unhindered from her eyes, rolling down her fair cheeks.

She didn’t make a sound, only shed tears silently. Then, as if losing all strength to support herself, her forehead heavily and submissively rested against Su Bai’s chest, and a muffled, heavily nasal, and broken sobbing voice emerged:

”Why did you... abandon me...”

These words were like a stone, smashing into the calm lake Su Bai tried to maintain in his heart.

His raised hand hung in mid-air; he couldn’t make a pushing motion. In the end, it just rested somewhat stiffly and futilely on her slightly trembling, slender shoulder, his fingertips feeling the warmth of her skin beneath the fabric.

”Hey, don’t cry...” he said dryly, his voice softening.

He wanted to push away this soft, trembling body, to cut off this troublesome entanglement, but his hand seemed to have a will of its own, merely resting there loosely.

”Who says no?! Beer fills you up too much, it’s boring! If you’re a man, go for baijiu! Let’s continue!”

Next to them, The Fatty and The girl’s argument suddenly escalated. They wobbled to their feet, haphazardly grabbed their jackets, and headed out of the private room, seemingly intending to buy baijiu immediately to decide the victor.

Seeing this, Su Bai immediately wanted to call out to The Fatty.

But he had just opened his mouth when the two, arm in arm and bickering, pulled open the door and walked out, their footsteps and arguments quickly disappearing down the corridor.

”Bang.”

The private room door gently bounced back and closed.

In an instant, the world seemed to be muted.

There was only the faint gurgling of the hotpot broth bubbling on the induction cooker, the soft hum of the air conditioner, and... Mu Xue’s uncontrollable, intermittent sobs in his arms.

She seemed to be vaguely repeating something, her voice muffled against Su Bai’s clothes, turning into a series of indistinct, tear-filled mumbles.

In the entire spacious private room, only a rambling, tearful girl and a stiff-bodied, frowning Su Bai, feeling helpless for the first time, remained.

...

Early morning.

Consciousness was like sinking to the bottom of murky water, slowly surfacing.

The first senses to return were a burning thirst in her throat and lips that felt stuck together.

Mu Xue frowned, her heavy eyelids extremely difficult to lift.

Her blurry vision gradually cleared: an unfamiliar ceiling... no, not entirely unfamiliar.

The simple yet expensive lines of the chandelier, the faint lingering scent of a specific fragrance in the air.

She suddenly sat up from the soft bed, her heart pounding in her chest, bringing a slight dizziness.

She looked around.

The room was spacious, decorated with understated luxury, every detail exuding an expensive yet unpretentious quality.

The huge floor-to-ceiling windows were completely covered by thick blackout curtains, allowing only a few fringes of golden light to seep through.

This environment... felt very familiar.

She had been here, more than once.

This was a suite in the top-tier hotel owned by Su Bai’s family, and it was also where she had stayed for over two years.

Fragments of memory began to piece together uncontrollably, accompanied by the dull ache and blurriness of a hangover: Last night... dinner with her best friend and her roommates... met Su Bai... he was back... drinking... a lot of alcohol...

The chain of memory abruptly broke and blurred at a certain point.

She only remembered the last clear frame: Su Bai tilting his head, saying something to his roommate called The Fatty, a slight smile on his lips, the light falling on the side of his face... then, a void of ambiguous darkness.

She instinctively threw back the covers.

She was naked, like a rabbit that had been stripped of its fur, not wearing a stitch.

Her skin made contact with the cool air, causing a tiny shiver.

At the same time, the clear sound of running water came from the direction of the bathroom, trickling, and then abruptly stopped.

Did we sleep together?

Or not?

This thought pierced her muddled brain.

She almost held her breath, carefully and very slightly moved her legs, feeling her body’s feedback.

Sore?

No.

Unusual pain or discomfort?

Apparently... none either.

Aside from the headache and dry throat from the hangover, the rest of her body felt almost normal.

No way?

Mu Xue’s mind was in a mess.

She and he hadn’t had any physical contact for over two years, so long that she had almost forgotten what it truly felt like the morning after a real intimate encounter.
