Chapter 1192: Chapter 7: Coincidence

Holy Sodding Kingdom and Undead Empire border, Wall of God, Lumas Snowfield Area.

On a giant ice wall, a hundred meters high and over a dozen meters wide, there was a large group of soldiers wearing cold-resistant clothes roaring. They stood in a line on the ice wall, operating thousands of heavy crossbows in unison.

Crash!

The tensioned crossbow strings were released, shattering huge swathes of snowflakes falling from the sky. A crossbow arrow, entirely made of metal and at least three meters long, was shot out. It clearly wasn’t meant for dealing with humans.

The metal crossbow arrow tore through the air, almost instantly reaching the base of the ice wall, piercing through a humanoid creature’s body without any obstruction.

With a crack, the upper body of the humanoid creature exploded, and pale green blood splattered. Its lower body stumbled forward a few steps before collapsing on the ground.

At the base of the ice wall, countless humanoid creatures charged toward the ice wall. Their skin was ghastly pale, almost identical in appearance to humans, but their eyes were all green, a sinister green that sent chills down anyone’s spine when stared at. They... were the Undead Clan.

The number of the Undead Clan was vast, but they were not cannon fodder. On the contrary, they were all clad in refined armor, their weapons were gleaming, and their charging formation was clearly a well-trained army.

”For the King!”

”For the King!”

Tens of thousands of the Undead Clan roared as they charged at the ice wall. They were not emotionless creatures. On the contrary, the undead were a bit stubborn; once they set their minds on something, they would do it no matter the cost.

Nobody knew why the Undead Clan was obsessed with attacking the Wall of God. It was known that the territory they occupied was far more prosperous than that of the Holy Sodding Kingdom. Apart from the harsh climate, their resources completely outmatched those of the Holy Sodding Kingdom’s territory.

Of course, the Undead Clan did exploit their territory. Before the Wall of God appeared, the Undead army completely outperformed the human army, thanks to their more advanced forging technology and superior military training.

The undead were intelligent. According to the human sages (sages: similar to researchers), the intelligence of the undead was very high, with creativity even surpassing that of humans.

Such a high-IQ race being obsessed with attacking an easily defended stronghold was something incomprehensible.

The human soldiers didn’t understand, and their officers didn’t either, but they knew one thing: they must never let the undead breach the Wall of God.

Boom, boom, boom...

The tundra shook as tens of thousands of undead reached the base of the ice wall. The outer side of the ice wall was nearly vertical, and its hundred-meter surface was smooth as a mirror, making the climbing difficulty extremely high.

Swoosh, swoosh...

Metal crossbow arrows rained down from the sky, piercing thousands of undead into skewers, pinning them to the frozen ground.

Once the undead reached the base of the ice wall, they extended their arms horizontally and yanked backward.

Clang, clang, clang...

Hook-blade arms popped out of the undead’s metal armguards, and they leaped up almost simultaneously, hooking the ice wall with the blades on their arms.

A series of crisp sounds followed. Due to the wall’s extreme hardness, most of the undead failed, with only a few succeeding.

They began to climb, and although many undead fell during the climb, hundreds still managed to ascend.

”Here they come again. These ice skins are really stubborn.”

A soldier on the ice wall spat. Ice skins were what they called the undead.

”Stop talking and switch to explosive arrows. If those undead climb up, we’ll lose many brothers again.”

The ’explosive arrows’ referred to by the soldier were actually special metal crossbow arrows that completely split apart after firing. A three-meter-long metal crossbow arrow would split into at least a hundred pieces. However, the ’split arrows’ were expensive, only used when the undead climbed the Wall of God.

Thud, thud, thud...

The urgent sound of war drums spread across the ice wall. Upon hearing it, all the soldiers took cover behind the protruded short wall at the edge of the ice wall, almost an instinctual action.

Packed black dots fell from the sky. Upon closer inspection, these black dots were about one meter long black spires, covered with black spiral patterns, and they had incredible penetration power. This was the long-range method of the undead army, a weapon known as ’Death Spin,’ though its human-translated name was ’Black Dusk Rain.’

With a crack, ice shards flew as a black spire pierced into the ice wall, and the flying shards struck a soldier’s face, with beads of blood seeping from his face, showing the strength of these black spires.

’Black Dusk Rain’ was a terrifying long-range weapon. Its only weak point was the long time required to reload. Knowing this, the human soldiers immediately left their cover and rained metal crossbow arrows onto the undead below.

”Someone fell off the wall!!”

A thunderous shout spread across the ice wall. Normally, a soldier falling off in this brutal war wouldn’t be a significant issue.

That was not the case. Once a soldier fell from the ice wall, nearby soldiers would immediately use crossbows to shoot the fallen soldier, aiding their comrade to reduce suffering, as being captured alive by the undead was too terrifying, a fate that intelligent beings shouldn’t endure.

Dozens of crossbows aimed at the fallen ’soldier’.

”Commander!”

Hundreds of soldiers roared at the ice wall’s edge. The one falling was an officer with a significant rank.

A young soldier swallowed, not shouting like the others, knowing that the officer had jumped down voluntarily.

Whoosh!

Blue and white flames surged from the fallen commander’s body, and the crossbowmen targeting him immediately aimed elsewhere, leaving the fallen commander alone since he was a Holy Warrior.

With a boom, the commander hit the ground, melting the surrounding snow and revealing the damp ground, but the water in the soil evaporated from the heat, causing the nearby hundred meters of earth to crack.

”Must rise to higher ranks quickly; it should be bustling at the Royal Capital.”

The ’commander’ surveyed his surroundings, the flames on him driving the undead away.

”A pity; only I entered the original world this time, and none of the others in the group had entry qualifications.”

With a snap of his fingers, the fire around him expanded outward in a ring.

The blue and white fire ring swept over the bodies of the undead, instantly turning them to ashes. The temperature of this blue-white flame couldn’t simply be described as terrifying.

On the ice wall, a Contractor with a soldier identity was observing below, swallowing when he saw the piles of ashes below, realizing he wouldn’t last a round in combat against the person below the ice wall.

”As expected of the number two in Blood Gate, Huang Yan, a horrifying guy.”

The salted fish contractor withdrew, planning to change battlefields as staying here was too dangerous.

Huang Yan entered the World of Xiya not to seek revenge on Su Xiao, but through sheer coincidence.

Su Xiao didn’t know Huang Yan was in this world, nor did Huang Yan know about Su Xiao’s presence. Should they meet, it would undoubtedly be a life-and-death battle.

Blade and flame, the 11th ranked in the Third-tier Arena VS the 2nd ranked in the Third-tier Arena; Su Xiao only reached rank 11 because his stay in Reincarnation Paradise only allowed him to reach that rank, while Huang Yan could only make it to rank 2.
