Chapter 1183: Chapter 68: Take Care of Him First

In the real world, next to Su Xiao’s accessory store, inside the Wreath and Funeral Clothes Store.

The owner of this shop is named Ma Fatty, a Feng Shui Master, ’proficient’ in fortune telling, divination, astrology, in short, anything related to the metaphysical, he ’excels’ at it.

Of course, this isn’t the truth. Ma Fatty is best at trickery. He can guess what’s on a guest’s mind from their words and subtle expressions, making fortune telling quite simple.

Although Ma Fatty is a fraudster, he is a conscientious one. He never thinks his actions are honorable; it’s all just for the sake of living.

As a Feng Shui Master, Ma Fatty is very good at observing what others think, but today, he met the Waterloo of his life.

The outer door of the Wreath and Funeral Clothes Store is tightly locked, several yellow papers and a large amount of red sand scattered on the ground. Ma Fatty wasn’t performing some kind of ritual; he just couldn’t suppress his inner anger a few minutes ago.

”Where did you take my brother?”

Ma Fatty’s fists clenched, he roared, and punched the abdomen of a skinny man tied up like a bundle.

Bang.

His fist landed, causing the fat on Ma Fatty’s body to shake. A fine sweat covered his forehead.

The skinny man let out a low groan, almost causing the wooden chair he was tied to to topple over.

”Hehehe.”

The skinny man let out a dry laugh.

”You’re an interesting fatty. Black Skin took something he shouldn’t have. We tied him up just to avoid making a big deal of it. Didn’t get rid of him already, quite merciful. Oh, by the way, I’m hungry, go get me something to eat.”

The skinny man didn’t care about Ma Fatty because he knew the other didn’t dare to really harm him.

”You...”

The fat on Ma Fatty’s face trembled. He dared to beat someone up but wasn’t confident about harsh interrogations. He only saw those in movies, and doing it himself was out of the question, especially since his brother Black Skin was still in their hands. He dared not act rashly.

”Cousin, calm down.”

A girl wearing a light blue dress grabbed Ma Fatty’s arm. She was his cousin, who happened to visit today. Ma Fatty was originally going to invite her for a hot pot before this happened. He wanted to persuade her to leave, but she seemed fragile yet was surprisingly stubborn.

”This fatty doesn’t look like someone who can cook, woman, go get me something to eat. I haven’t eaten anything the whole day.”

The skinny man moved his neck, noticing that Ma Fatty wasn’t the type to kill, he became reckless.

The skinny man was a desperado. Initially, he was sent to capture Black Skin, but Black Skin carried an electric stick and used it, knocking him out cold.

Knowing things were bad, Black Skin immediately tried to escape the city but was intercepted by these people halfway through, leading to this kidnapping. As for what Black Skin took, it remained unknown. Black Skin was a gray market dealer of crossbows and electric sticks, among other dubious items.

Before inviting his cousin for hot pot, Ma Fatty had called his brother Black Skin; their shops were only separated by Su Xiao’s accessory store.

The kidnapped Black Skin couldn’t answer, and when Ma Fatty entered Black Skin’s store, he saw the skinny man lying on the ground. The fighting traces indicated that Black Skin was in trouble.

Hence, Ma Fatty bound the skinny man, leading to a scene of ’harsh interrogation’. Ma Fatty had punched the skinny man a few times and considered calling the police. However, one sentence from the skinny man dismissed that idea.

”If you don’t want your brother to die, untie me and turn on the air conditioner. It’s stifling.”

The skinny man smiled at Ma Fatty. Ma Fatty picked up the phone beside him and dialed a number he had called multiple times, yet no one answered.

”I warned you, didn’t I? No calling the police.”

The smile vanished from the skinny man’s face, dropping his eyelids.

Seeing the look in the skinny man’s eyes made Ma Fatty’s hand tremble. He had seen such a look before, allowing him to immediately determine that the skinny man had taken lives—a genuine desperado, unlike those small-time thugs who would cower after a beating.

Beep, beep, beep...

In the deathly silence of the room, the busy tone of the phone resonated in the ears of the three. The skinny man wasn’t as calm as he appeared; he feared Ma Fatty calling the police. He carried a few murders on his back, going in would mean never coming out.

”What’s the matter?”

A male voice came from the phone, and Ma Fatty took a deep breath.

”I’ve got trouble, do you have time?”

”Five minutes.”

The call was hung up. Ma Fatty looked at the skinny man, with even a hint of pity in his eyes.

”Cousin, did you hire help?”

The stubborn cousin tentatively asked.

”I called... a professional.”

Ma Fatty’s fists clenched, showing he was desperate.

The help Ma Fatty sought was, of course, Su Xiao. He couldn’t personally ask for it, only because he had no choice. The last time he tried going through the accessory store’s back door to find Su Xiao, he accidentally stepped on a landmine in the backyard!

Remembering that experience made Ma Fatty shiver even now.

Knock knock.

Hearing the knocking, Ma Fatty quickly stood up and hurried to open the door.

The shutter door rose. Bubu Wang walked into the shop first, followed by Su Xiao, who bent down to enter, holding chopsticks in one hand and a bowl of noodles in the other.

Su Xiao scanned the room, quickly focusing on the skinny man tied up tightly.

”So, what’s going on?”

Su Xiao sat on the couch opposite the skinny man, calmly continuing to eat his noodles.

The cousin never took her eyes off Su Xiao. Her thoughts were whether this casually dressed guy, eating noodles, could really be reliable.

Ma Fatty explained the situation in detail, and Su Xiao quickly understood. He glanced a few times at the skinny man, who wasn’t a Contractor. Judging from the faintly imperceptible bloody aura, he was merely a desperado.

”Got it, let’s deal with him first.”

Su Xiao put down the bowl of noodles, stood, and walked toward the skinny man.

”You...”

The skinny man instinctively leaned back, only sensing something off about Su Xiao, but he couldn’t pinpoint what exactly.

As their eyes met, the skinny man’s pupils widened, rapidly contracting. His long career as a desperado honed his instincts; gazing into Su Xiao’s eyes felt like staring into the abyss, making his scalp tingle and legs weak.

”Black Skin is tied up in the West Suburb. If you kill me, he will be... forever...”

Buzz～

A thin thread, barely visible, cut into the skinny man’s neck. Blood seeped from the cut, his face flushing quickly, and his eyes filled with blood.

”Wait, wait, I’ll tell you... everything.”

The skinny man’s voice turned hoarse as he struggled intensely, tied firmly to the chair.

”I don’t need you to say anything.”

Su Xiao took out his phone and dialed a number.
