Chapter 1151: Chapter 36: Troublesome Ability

The metal treasure chest hit the ground, and in this approximately seven-meter-wide tunnel, Winnessa and the others began to move towards one side of the wall. A few seconds later, they stood in a line with their backs against the wall, in perfect sync.

The reason they did this was to make every effort to have Su Xiao confront the catwoman, leading to a duel. That way, they would have a chance to escape, and perhaps even snatch away that metal treasure chest? That would be perfect, no, the most perfect scenario would be both sides fighting to the death, and in the end, they would scoop up the loot, which would include the treasure chest dropped by the catwoman + a high-quality Crimson Card + a metal treasure chest.

Ever since Su Xiao jumped into the tunnel, the eyes of catwoman Nefertiti had been fixed on him.

”Who are you?”

The muscles in catwoman’s legs swiftly bulged, becoming tightly knotted.

”...”

Su Xiao kept silent, simply tossing the Duke of Extinction at A Mu, as the Dragon Slash, still in its sheath, appeared in his hand.

Clang.

The Dragon Slash was unsheathed, Su Xiao’s long knife pointing diagonally at the ground as he approached the catwoman, neither hurried nor slow.

”I’m in a bit of a rush, so let’s end this in two blows.”

Just as Su Xiao finished speaking, there was a loud boom in front of him; the catwoman had leapt towards him.

The catwoman’s arms stretched parallel to her body, her fingertips unusually sharp, like a wild cat pouncing on its prey, agile and nimble.

Su Xiao quickened his steps, suddenly disappearing from where he stood. Witnessing this, three of the contractors became very excited.

”This might be a chance...”

Clang, clang, clang...

The crisp sound of cleaving came, fast, so fast that the eye could barely capture it.

Two sharp fingernails flew off as the catwoman leapt back, landing in a half-crouched position. The muscles in her face twitched, as if she were enduring intense pain.

Blood dripped from the fingertips of Su Xiao’s left hand. On his left arm was a particularly wide wound, caused by the catwoman’s tail lashing him; he was not used to fighting enemies with tails.

The tip of the Dragon Slash flicked up a segment about five centimeters long, which was the tip of the catwoman’s tail.

Although the catwoman wasn’t as powerful as the Ant King, she was certainly not easy to deal with; her intuition was incredibly keen.

After one exchange, Su Xiao confirmed one thing: dealing with the catwoman required caution. A slight carelessness could very well cost him his life.

In terms of raw strength, Su Xiao had the upper hand over the catwoman, but unfortunately, the current terrain was more advantageous for the catwoman. The surrounding walls and ceiling could all become her springboards, making it difficult to track her movements.

The catwoman, crouched on the ground, shifted her gaze to the few Contractors who were about to seize the opportunity to slip away; she planned to utilize these people to force Su Xiao into making a mistake.

Bang!

A depression appeared beneath the catwoman; she disappeared in an instant, reappearing among the Contractors. Three of them were jolted from their dreams of escape.

Su Xiao stepped forward, closing the distance to about three meters.

Though the catwoman wasn’t sure if Su Xiao would be cautious because of the people around, it was worth a try.

Unfortunately, Su Xiao and these Contractors didn’t know each other; if these people escaped, he wouldn’t stop them. If they became hostages, he wouldn’t hesitate.

”Source of Brute Force.”

A melee contractor intended to attack the catwoman, but his strength was only at the third-tier early-stage, much lower than the catwoman’s.

The catwoman ignored the contractor’s attack, grabbing his head with one hand and using him as a shield in front of her.

Clang.

The long knife sliced through, and the contractor trying to attack Su Xiao to save himself met his end.

In the tunnel, no one was innocent. These contractors appeared here in pursuit of interests and power, so they should be prepared for the risk of sudden death. If Su Xiao were to die here, he wouldn’t blame anyone. Wanting to obtain something inevitably involves risk.

Su Xiao and the catwoman clashed amidst the Contractors, and the outcome was predictable.

Blood splattered as the catwoman crushed the skull of the last remaining female contractor and hurled her body toward Su Xiao, intending to use a mass of blood to obscure his vision, this being the last survivor of the team.

minute and 06 seconds after the fight began, the small adventure group was annihilated, with most dying at the hands of the catwoman. She constantly used the bodies of the deceased to obscure Su Xiao’s view, hoping to seize an opportunity.

The female contractor’s body flew towards Su Xiao, who sliced to his right.

The blade whistled as it split the air, severing a few strands of white hair.

The catwoman’s body curled up, her keen instincts allowing her to evade Su Xiao’s cleave, directly lunging at Su Xiao.

If she managed to engage in close combat, the catwoman’s advantage would multiply several times over, for she fought with her body, not a weapon.

The catwoman’s face twisted into a cruel smile as one of her arms bulged with muscle, thicker than her leg, reaching straight for Su Xiao’s throat.

At this moment, Su Xiao’s long knife had just completed its swing, which the catwoman evaded, leaving him between attacks.

Facing the catwoman who was within a meter, Su Xiao’s knee bent, intending to push her back. Unfortunately, her hand was only a few inches away from his throat.

If the catwoman’s grip locked around his throat, it would inflict significant damage, and the subsequent chain of attacks would heavily injure Su Xiao, ending the battle prematurely.

”I’ve won.”

The catwoman’s hand brushed against Su Xiao’s skin, her fingers curling, preparing to grip tightly.

The expected sensation of crushing bone didn’t occur in the catwoman’s hand; first, a look of astonishment crossed her face, then her pupils rapidly contracted.

A sense of danger emanated from behind the catwoman as she maintained her lunging posture, signifying the attack originated from above.

Above the catwoman, Su Xiao’s long knife reversed in his grip, poised for a backhand thrust.

Slash.

The long knife pierced straight through the catwoman’s chest, puncturing her heart without resistance. Su Xiao chose not to decapitate her, knowing it wouldn’t immediately neutralize her combat ability and could pose a risk of counterattack.

The Dragon Slaying Thrust pinned the catwoman to the ground. Due to her forward momentum, the blade sliced through her chest, continuing down to her abdomen.

The catwoman coughed up a large mouthful of blood, her pupils trembling with disbelief, unable to comprehend how Su Xiao had vanished so suddenly.

”Specialization Nature?”

Boom!

Su Xiao stomped on the catwoman’s face, driving her upper body into the stone slab.

He withdrew the long knife, ready to sever the catwoman’s head once more.

Slash, blood sprayed several meters high as the catwoman’s body convulsed, her hands clawed before going limp.

Although Su Xiao successfully decapitated the catwoman and pierced her heart, he didn’t stop cleaving.

Just as he raised his blade, the catwoman, whose upper body was embedded in the ground, suddenly sprang back to life. Her hands slapped the ground, propelling her backward.

The catwoman was still alive? To be precise, given the Mosaic ant’s formidable life energy, even decapitation and a pierced heart wouldn’t lead to immediate death, especially considering the catwoman’s unique Telekinesis Ability.

The headless catwoman stood nearby, holding her own head. Behind her loomed a red apparition, its hands threaded with many strings attached to the catwoman, like a marionette enabling her continued combat.

This Nen Ability was called Black Dance Imagination, and if given time, the catwoman could even use this power to sew her head and heart back together, effectively ’reviving’ on the spot.
