Chapter 1052: Chapter 54: 30 Seconds

The Iwagakure Jonin with a severed arm landed on the ground, his arm dropping with a thud beside him.

As soon as he landed, the Jonin held his lone arm in front of him with a kunai in hand. Losing an arm meant he couldn’t form seals, reducing his combat effectiveness by at least 70%.

However, the Jonin was proficient in Taijutsu, and as a Jonin, he remained calm even after losing an arm.

”Keep your distance, I’ll hold him off.”

The Jonin shouted, motivating the Chunins on the rooftop. His loss of an arm meant he couldn’t use Ninjutsu, making these Chunins the main fighting force.

Seven Chunins were left on the rooftop, but their mental fortitude was far inferior to the Jonin with the severed arm.

The Jonin’s roar shook the Chunins. Two of them immediately leaped off the rooftop, their backs to Su Xiao. Seeing this, the Jonin with the severed arm knew things had gone awry.

Clang.

Two pale blue blade auras flew from the edge of the Dragon Slash, straight towards the two Chunins.

One Chunin, upon hearing the piercing whistle, instinctively turned to look.

”Wind Escape?”

The Chunin was mid-air and had his back to Su Xiao, making it impossible to dodge the blade aura.

Clink.

Sparks flew. The Jonin with the severed arm appeared behind the Chunin, slicing the blade aura with his kunai.

With a tearing sound, the kunai was severed, and the mid-air Jonin with the severed arm kicked the nearby Chunin’s behind.

The Chunin landed headfirst, his face bruised and battered. He looked up in relief, only to see that his fellow Chunin, who had also jumped from the rooftop, lay on the ground severed in two.

Cold sweat rolled down the Chunin’s temple. If not for his Jonin leader saving him, he would have met the same fate.

The clash of metal could be heard on the rooftop. The newly landed Chunin looked up to see his five companions on the rooftop hurling ninja tools at the enemy.

The combat experience of these five Chunins was evidently richer. They understood not to turn their backs on the enemy, even when retreating, waiting for the opportune moment.

Su Xiao severed the incoming kunai and shurikens aimed at him. He could deflect the bullets of the Spider Queen, let alone these ninja tools.

Scanning his surroundings, Su Xiao, being on higher ground, could easily take in the entirety of the situation.

Obito was already holding down four Jonins and dozens of Chunins inside the village, while A Mu restrained two Jonins and several Chunins, frequently attempting to charge towards the civilian retreat. The Iwagakure had no choice but to send people to contain it.

Given the current situation, aside from the six Chunins and one Jonin around him, no one else would intercept Su Xiao in the short term. By dealing with these individuals, Su Xiao could enter the Underground Prison.

It wasn’t that he couldn’t enter the Underground Prison now, but if he didn’t deal with these Iwagakure ninjas, he risked being flanked if there were guards inside, thus being attacked from all sides.

”Deal with them in 30 seconds.”

Su Xiao stamped the ground, and a faint red aura spread out like a tide.

Whoosh~

The Jonin was the first to be swept by the faint red aura, his body stiffened, pain rippling within him—an effect of the release of breath.

Skill Effect 1 (Active): Releases one’s aura at high speed, dealing 100 damage + Willpower × 5 to enemies within 30 meters. This damage ignores armor/magic resistance/shield/equipment defense.

The passive effects of the release of breath had yet to be judged, when waves of blue-white pulse waves spread from Su Xiao as the center— a high-intensity electromagnetic pulse. Su Xiao acquired this ability through a piece of equipment he recently obtained.

”Destroyer”

Quality: Gold

Category: Belt (Black, high-tech product)

Equipment Effect 1: Destructive Shock (Active), releases an electronic destruction pulse in a 20-25 meter radius. It destroys the internal components of electronic devices, dealing 120 damage to enemies, with mechanical enemies suffering four times the damage.

...

The surrounding seven ninjas were clearly unfamiliar with the release of breath, nor did they know what an electromagnetic pulse was. But the tingling and numbness in their bodies told them something was wrong.

As the two waves of impact receded, the one-armed Jonin shook his head, and upon looking again in Su Xiao’s direction, he found Su Xiao had vanished.

In terms of strength and speed, Su Xiao far surpassed most ninjas—excluding those like the Raikage and Tsunade.

Buzz~

The sound of retracting metal wire came, and suddenly, the Jonin with the severed arm felt a numbness underfoot. Then, half of his foot bounced up, the numb sensation causing him to lose his balance and fall forward.

But the Jonin was not a pushover; a Jonin was a top-tier combatant in the Naruto World.

However, even Shadow Level ninjas perished at Su Xiao’s hands. How long could a Jonin hold out? The Chunins around him were unable to match Su Xiao’s speed, rendering Ninjutsu ineffective at hitting him.

”Earth Jutsu·Earth Array Wall.”

A Chunin smacked the ground with one hand. Despite his rich combat experience, he wasn’t particularly talented and hence remained a Chunin.

An earth wall rose behind the Jonin, blocking Su Xiao’s path. The Chunin hadn’t caught up with Su Xiao’s speed but merely guessed that Su Xiao might attack from behind—a lucky strike.

A flash of the blade, and the earth wall was instantly shattered. Su Xiao’s long knife slashed toward the neck of the Jonin with the severed arm.

Just as the blade was about to sever the Jonin’s head, Su Xiao suddenly stopped and leaped back.

Boom!

A fireball erupted—the Jonin with the severed arm, aware of his slim chances of survival, decisively detonated the Exploding Talismans he carried, intending to perish together with Su Xiao.

The explosion’s shockwave surged forward, and Su Xiao raised his left arm defensively, retreating with the blast’s force.

Su Xiao landed, the backward momentum causing him to skid a few meters.

The flames gradually dissipated into the air, the acrid smell of burnt flesh wafting over.

”Even that... didn’t hurt him.”

A Chunin spoke in a trembling voice, instinctively stepping back.

Su Xiao turned his head to look at the Chunins, raising his arm to strike the ground, dirt scattering widely.

”Earth Jutsu...”

A Chunin was just about to form seals when a light flashed at his neck, his vision swirling before dropping to the ground alongside his head.

Su Xiao used the flying dirt to obscure the vision of the Chunins, then capitalized on his speed to close in, and when it came to close combat, one could imagine the outcome against a Chunin proficient in close combat like Su Xiao.

Ten seconds later, Su Xiao pinned a Chunin to the ground underfoot, the Dragon Slash piercing through the Chunin’s throat. The Chunin, kneeling with both hands on the blade, gurgled blood as he looked up at Su Xiao.

Su Xiao pulled the Dragon Slash from the Chunin’s throat, and with a thud, the Chunin collapsed to the ground.

At that moment, Su Xiao suddenly turned his gaze to a nearby house, locking eyes with a young girl in the window. She shrank back, curling beneath the sill, hands covering her mouth as tears streamed uncontrollably. This was a terrified civilian who hadn’t managed to evacuate from Shuyan Village in time.
