Chapter 346: Chapter 47: The Hero’s Grandson

Su Xiao suddenly showed up and immediately asked to leave Experimental Island.

Although Tina is Su Xiao’s secretary, she doesn’t have decision-making power. Her mission is to protect Su Xiao’s safety and prevent him from escaping.

Leaving Experimental Island is not something Tina can decide, so while she reports, she also has to keep Su Xiao calm.

”Mister Bai Ye, please wait for a moment. I’ll contact a ship first.”

Instead of contacting a ship, Tina is actually contacting Navy Headquarters.

”As soon as possible.”

Su Xiao stood at the door, seemingly with no intention of going back to the lab, his stance firm.

Tina took out a Telephone Worm and dialed, her gaze occasionally drifting toward Su Xiao.

The Telephone Worm was soon connected, and a powerful voice came through.

”This is Sengoku.”

Tina being able to contact Sengoku directly is closely related to her current position.

”Marshal Sengoku, here’s the situation...”

Tina explained the reason to Sengoku, who hesitated upon hearing Su Xiao’s desire to go to Enies Lobby.

Under normal circumstances, Sengoku wouldn’t refuse Su Xiao going to Enies Lobby. After all, Enies Lobby is a department under the World Government, and it wouldn’t be a problem for Su Xiao to go there, especially considering Su Xiao’s CP Department background.

But now, the situation at Enies Lobby is somewhat different. After capturing Nico Robin and Franky, the situation started to become unstable.

Sengoku tried several times to send troops to support Enies Lobby, but was always rejected by the CP Department. The Navy and the CP Department are not part of the same system. Although they cooperate and the Navy has small troops stationed at Enies Lobby, when it comes to their own territory issues, the CP Department won’t back down.

Unless Enies Lobby is completely breached, the CP Department won’t allow a large naval landing; small troops are already at the limit of their tolerance.

The Navy is the military arm of the World Government, and CP is the intelligence arm. Though both belong to the same power, they have two rulers.

”Enies Lobby is not an option. If you want to take a break, you can go to the East Sea or Shapodi Archipelago.”

Sengoku’s response made Tina’s face show difficulties; she didn’t dare to haggle with Sengoku, after all, Sengoku is the supreme commander of the Navy.

”Give me the Telephone Worm.”

Su Xiao was also aware of how much authority Tina had, and he wanted to talk to Sengoku directly.

Tina looked distressed; she was caught between two forces and couldn’t afford to offend either.

”Marshal Sengoku, Dr. Bai Ye wishes to speak with you.”

”Give him the Telephone Worm.”

Su Xiao took the Telephone Worm and didn’t bother with pleasantries with Sengoku. After his confrontation with Kizaru, his relations with the Navy were already strained, especially on the matter of the poison sac, where the Navy’s attitude was firm.

”Sengoku, I have no issue being used as hard labor for you, but why am I being restricted? Was Kizaru’s word just nonsense?”

Su Xiao’s tone was unyielding; continuously backing down would only make the Navy more aggressive. It was time to show his fangs.

”Kid, do you know who you’re talking to?”

Sengoku’s tone was also starting to turn unfriendly.

”Mister Sengoku, I have a question.”

Su Xiao’s tone suddenly turned amicable.

”Speak.”

”How did I end up from being a CP0 member to a Navy? Span was crucial, wasn’t he? And Zero, who recruited me, I’ve never even met.”

Zero, the special agent leader of CP0, never appeared after recruiting Su Xiao, not even a call, which is very abnormal.

”Want me to get Zero to talk?”

Sengoku remained silent.

”Or perhaps, is Zero a ghost? Perhaps he’s not even the leader of CP0, but a Navy man.”

Sengoku continued to remain silent.

”The Navy is really thoughtful, although I don’t know who the CP Department leader is, they probably aren’t happy right now.”

After a long while, Sengoku sighed.

”As Little He said, you’re a tough nut. What’s your purpose for going to Enies Lobby? Ancient weapons? Or do you want to join the CP Department?”

”Are you joking, Mister Sengoku? Who would want to join those agents? As for ancient weapons, I have no interest in ruling. Otherwise, with my ability to make bombs, I could easily form a force or establish a pirate group.”

Sengoku on the other end of the Telephone Worm nodded, acknowledging Su Xiao spoke the truth.

”Then what’s your purpose for going to Enies Lobby?”

”Can’t I go looking for a girl? You’ve heard of Kalifa, right?”

Sengoku fell silent.

”What? Looking for a girl?”

”Yes, you can investigate my relationship with Kalifa. We’ve done everything except pin her to the bed, haha.”

Though Sengoku didn’t understand the ”haha” part, he knew what ”pin her to the bed” meant.

Sengoku chuckled wryly; it turns out he was going to see a woman.

It’s no wonder Sengoku would have such suspicions. It’s not that Sengoku’s intelligence is lacking, but contractors’ objectives tend to be peculiar.

The goals of ordinary people are nothing more than love, hate, greed, and desire, whereas a contractor’s goal is to complete the task, survive, and become stronger.

Sengoku being able to guess Su Xiao’s true purpose would be unusual, akin to an internal leak among the contractors.

Su Xiao has never heard of a contractor collaborating with story characters to betray Reincarnation Paradise.

That wouldn’t be merely seeking death, but inviting it with open arms.

”Isn’t Tina prettier than Kalifa? With such a secretary by your side, you still want to search for other women.”

Su Xiao was startled; this Marshal Sengoku was quite the character.

”Ahem, not my type.”

”Hahaha, just joking, take Tina with you. She can ensure your safety.”

”Of course, no problem.”

The Telephone Worm was disconnected, and in the Navy Headquarters’ Fleet Admiral office, Sengoku’s face didn’t look good.

Click, click... The sound of chewing came through.

”Sengoku, what on earth does this kid want?”

Garp asked while munching on Canned Crab, with Kuzan sitting on the sofa beside him.

”Either Nico Robin or ancient weapons, or perhaps just going to Enies Lobby is his aim; he seems really eager to reach Enies Lobby.”

Sengoku tapped his desk lightly, his expression serious.

”And yet you let him go?”

”Why not?” Sengoku had his thoughts clear; the Fleet Admiral’s intelligence cannot be underestimated.

Garp stopped chewing Canned Crab, sensing his old friend might have figured something out.

”Enies Lobby isn’t under our jurisdiction. If he wants to cause a scene, let him, as long as he doesn’t die there. The agents at Enies Lobby could use some shaking up; they’re reaching, extending their claws farther. Plus, Zero’s identity can’t be openly revealed, or the CP Department would be left without an excuse.

Vega Punk was recruited by Zero, and now with Bai Ye, that guy from CP must be at the limit of his patience. Have Zero retract; let Kuzan handle this issue.”

Kuzan, who was dozing off, removed his mask.

”Me? That wouldn’t be appropriate, considering earlier events...”

Sengoku suddenly remembered something, nodding.

”Then let Garp go. Retracting Zero might be tricky. I once promised to let him leave the CP Department alive; now it’s time to fulfill that promise.”

Garp didn’t say anything, pouring all the Canned Crab from the bag into his mouth, crunching.

”Can it lead to direct conflict?”

”If it’s you... it can.”

Garp nodded and left.

Sengoku sat behind the Fleet Admiral’s desk, his eyes flickering.

”It seems Nico Robin might not be safeguarded.”

”Hmm?” Kuzan felt a little surprised.

”A group of pirates is heading toward Enies Lobby.”

It seems like Sengoku finds that pirate group quite troublesome.

”The group isn’t strong～.”

”Not strong, but none of the Vice Admirals we send can capture them, and even the Admirals might be unreliable.”

Kuzan laughed brightly, and Sengoku sighed; personal debts are the hardest to repay.

”The captain of that pirate group is Garp’s grandson.”

Upon hearing Sengoku’s words, Kuzan was not surprised; he knew this matter earlier.

”And the Vice Admiral responsible for receiving Nico Robin at the Gates of Justice is a former subordinate of Garp.”

Kuzan no longer replied, cold sweat pouring down because he too had previously let the Straw Hat Pirates go once.

Kuzan was once a direct subordinate of Garp, learning Conqueror’s Haki from him, and Garp always promoted him wherever possible. Garp used his reputation to pave Kuzan’s way to becoming an Admiral. At the time, the World Government opposed Kuzan becoming an Admiral, but Garp defended him resolutely.

Without Garp, Kuzan wouldn’t be the Naval Admiral he is today, although Kuzan’s own strength is undoubtedly formidable.

Kuzan couldn’t possibly kill the only grandson of his former mentor, which would contradict his own sense of justice.
