Chapter 324: Chapter 25: Spiritual Ability

An explosion echoed, flames soared into the sky, and the rooftop where Li and Lilith were located collapsed, with a large amount of building debris falling as the two of them fell to the third floor.

”Cough, cough, cough.”

Smoke and dust swirled on the third floor as Lilith and Li constantly coughed.

”Didn’t you say the enemy’s main weapon was a knife? I was okay with the gun, but how can there be such a powerful bomb... Dammit!”

Another alchemy bomb was thrown into the room, and the two instinctively dived to the ground.

A few seconds later, the alchemy bomb didn’t explode, and Lilith, lying on the ground, raised her head in confusion.

At this moment, Lilith suddenly noticed that Li was quickly rushing toward the window, as if something terrifying was about to happen inside this building.

With just a moment’s thought, Lilith also got up and rushed toward the window.

With a crash, the window shattered, and both of them leaped out of the window, shards of glass flying everywhere.

In mid-air, Lilith’s gaze scanned the surroundings. Besides the fleeing, panicked civilians, she saw a man holding a long knife; this was the enemy.

Though in mid-air, Lilith was not without the power to fight back. The blood flowing from her wounds surged, and amazingly, Lilith could control her own blood, forming a blood-red longsword.

”Li, control him.”

Lilith shouted, and she and Li almost landed simultaneously.

Zee~!

The sound of metal wire tightening came, and as soon as Lilith landed, she felt severe pain from all over her body as if a sharp thin line had cut into her flesh.

Su Xiao’s left hand, wrapped in the scarlet bracer, grasped the Boundary Line, and after entangling the enemy, he gave it a fierce pull.

Splat, a large amount of blood gushed from Lilith’s body, cutting her into dozens of pieces.

Su Xiao frowned deeply; something felt off. There was no kill notification, and the amount of blood seemed excessive.

After Su Xiao charged out of the abandoned factory, he immediately headed towards the enemy-dense area.

Upon reaching the heavily populated area, he discovered something unusual. These Contractors were too weak, with inflated levels but not strong in power.

Although these Contractors weren’t that strong, they were exceptionally brave, turning their guns – including shotguns and AKs – on him recklessly.

Su Xiao spent 1 minute and 17 seconds to kill five people, which puzzled him. With such weak strength, how dared they provoke Bruno, a CP9 agent.

Thinking of it this way, the remaining two might be the main force, so Su Xiao used the Broken Elf to lock onto one person on the rooftop and used Gaze Shooting.

All six shots hit the enemy, causing them to collapse but without a kill notification. The Broken Elf had significantly increased attack power after +5, and hitting all six shots with Gaze Shooting raised damage by 40%. Even then, the enemy didn’t die, indicating they had considerable resistance.

With the enemy on high ground, Su Xiao didn’t charge directly into the three-story building but quickly approached it to throw an alchemy bomb upstairs.

Even after the alchemy bomb exploded, the enemies were still alive, falling to the third floor, so Su Xiao tossed another bomb on the first, second, and third floors, planning to blow up the building.

Before detonating the alchemy explosives, Su Xiao had anticipated that the enemy might escape through the window, so he arrived near the window close to the enemy’s location in advance, setting a trap on the predicted landing spot with the Boundary Line.

The situation was as Su Xiao predicted. After he threw an alchemy bomb on the third floor, the enemy did indeed jump out of the window. He decisively gave up exploding the alchemy bomb as it would have been a waste.

The enemy landed, Su Xiao tightened the Boundary Line. That was the whole process.

Zee~.

The Boundary Line recoiled back to the wire wheel as Su Xiao stared at the pile of dismembered parts not far away; he was sure that the woman wasn’t dead.

As for the other enemy beside, Su Xiao sensed they might be challenging to kill, so he decided to first eliminate one.

Blood surged on the ground, and Lilith’s dismembered parts gradually transformed into blood, eventually coalescing into a mass, with her long hair flowing.

The crimson blood surged. Seconds later, the blood formed into a human shape as Lilith stood up, her face even paler, panting heavily.

”Friend, there’s no bad blood between us. There’s no need to be so ruthless.”

Lilith exhaled softly.

”Why don’t we talk it over?”

Lilith slowly moved towards Li, who also edged over towards Lilith.

”There’s nothing to talk about. Your target is either Nico Robin or Bruno. Let’s settle it under the knife; there is no other option.”

Su Xiao approached the two with his knife.

”Don’t be so heartless. As long as you don’t kill me, I’m open to anything~.”

Lilith blinked, seeing this, Li clicking his tongue in disdain from the side, murmuring in a low voice: ”Such a shameless ability.”

Lilith’s mouth twitched, keeping a seductive smile on her face, whispering: ”If you can, go for it.”

Li stopped talking, not daring to approach Su Xiao. They currently had a strong urge, and that was to turn and run away.

The enemy was somewhat terrifying; they had been half-disabled before even seeing them, and Lilith even used her life-saving skill, ’Blood Transformation.’

”Hang in there; it’s best not to engage.”

”Shut up.”

Lilith twisted her body, beckoning Su Xiao with a finger.

”Come here.”

A scarlet light flashed in Su Xiao’s eyes, and simultaneously, Reincarnation Paradise issued a warning.

[Warning: Hunter is being mentally influenced. Intelligence attribute assessment in progress...]

[Assessment passed. It has been detected that the Hunter has a strong immunity to mental control capabilities, immune to this spiritual inducement.]

The pupil color that had turned scarlet in Su Xiao’s eyes gradually returned as he continued forward, seemingly controlled, but actually, he had resisted this induction skill, ready to break free from its effects at any time, yet he hadn’t done so.

Su Xiao gradually approached the enemy, five meters. Four meters, three meters.

”Put down the knife; it’s a hindrance.”

Lilith used her fingernail to cut open her palm, causing blood to surge rapidly, forming a dagger.

The scarlet light retreated from Su Xiao’s eyes as he stepped forward to Lilith, holding the Dragon Slash sideways, slashing at Lilith’s neck.

Lilith was stunned; she clearly saw the scarlet light in the enemy’s eyes. Even with a failed control, there should be a notification. Did the enemy avoid it? Failure had a prompt, but avoidance did not.

The long knife whined as it sliced through the air, leaving a white trace in mid-air.

In this crisis moment, Lilith raised her blood-red dagger to block Su Xiao’s swing.

Clang.

The dagger snapped in response, and the long knife directly slit towards Lilith’s throat.

Splat, the long knife sank into flesh, blood spurt out wildly.

Dragon Slash embedded into Lilith’s neck, cutting a third of her throat.

For some reason, Su Xiao’s body froze, the hilt gripped with a tearing sound.

Taking advantage of Su Xiao’s momentary pause, Lilith moved her body, the long knife exiting from her neck, with blood flowing down from the wound. Half of Lilith’s body was immediately dyed red with blood.

Lilith did not use this opportunity to attack Su Xiao; at this point, attacking Su Xiao was virtually ineffective.

Crack, crack.

Suddenly, a large area of cracks appeared in the air around Su Xiao, akin to shattered glass.

A transparent shield appeared around Su Xiao, entrapping him within.

With a crack, the shield shattered, and Su Xiao glanced towards the younger Contractor not far away, unsure if they were male or female; this was their ability.

”Run quickly; his power attribute is at least 30 points, hoping his agility isn’t high.”

Li dashed off, small legs running swiftly, turning to look at Su Xiao while running, only to catch sight of a rapidly approaching shadow.

”You’ve got to be kidding me; his agility attribute is also above 30 points!”

Tears welled up at the corners of Li’s eyes. ’She’ was still young and didn’t want to die yet.
