Chapter 308: Chapter 9: The Special Agent Who Came Knocking

The enemy fell into the water, Su Xiao quickly ran to the edge of the canal and dipped his head into the sea.

His vision turned a deep blue, the underwater area beneath the City of Seven Seas was filled with abandoned buildings, the terrain was intricate, and there was a considerable number of schools of fish.

In the somewhat dim seawater, Su Xiao saw the distant figure of the Cowboy Hat Man, swimming with a very peculiar style, clutching his lower abdomen with one hand, both legs moving slightly as he swam away.

Su Xiao was about to plunge his whole body into the sea when a searing pain flared up all over his body, the wounds burning intensely upon contact with the seawater, which was like pouring salt on the wounds, especially as his gunshot wounds were quite deep.

Su Xiao was in so much pain that his vision darkened for a moment, he forced himself to concentrate and took out the Broken Elf, submerging his upper body into the sea, he shot at the Cowboy Hat Man several times.

Bang, bang, bang.

The sound of gunfire was very muffled underwater, and then something unexpected happened to Su Xiao, the bullets stopped after traveling a few meters through the seawater and gradually sank to the seabed.

Not willing to accept this, Su Xiao fired three more shots at the Cowboy Hat Man, but the situation was still the same as before, the bullets lost their momentum after a few meters and sank to the ocean floor.

This puzzled him greatly, relating it to the resistance in water, perhaps this was the outcome when firing underwater, he learned something new, that you can’t fire guns underwater; otherwise the water resistance will stop the bullets after a few meters, but bullets shot from above water remain powerful.

The Cowboy Hat Man’s figure disappeared; escaping through the maze-like underwater structures was all too easy, which was why Su Xiao didn’t pursue.

It wasn’t all bad news though, today he managed to repel the Cowboy Hat Man, so he wouldn’t reappear in the City of Seven Seas anytime soon, otherwise, Su Xiao would continue to hunt him down.

Su Xiao couldn’t sense things underwater, but if the opponent surfaced, he would sense the blue steel shadow energy in the opponent’s body, allowing him to pursue relentlessly.

Closing his eyes to sense, no blue steel shadow energy appeared in the vicinity; it seemed the Cowboy Hat Man was swimming in the sea, and the seawater distorted Su Xiao’s detection of the blue steel shadow energy.

Confirming the enemy had fled far, Su Xiao sat down on the ground with a splash; he was reaching his limit and couldn’t withstand a few more shots.

The explosion noise earlier had attracted the attention of local residents, some notified the city government, which quickly tasked the Galley-La Company to send over personnel, as it was responsible for the City of Seven Seas’ security.

Such a massive explosion in the City of Seven Seas prompted Iceberg to arrive with two people in tow, one was Galley-La Company’s shipwright Barry, and the other was Secretary Kalifa.

Barry was dressed like a typical shipwright, nothing special, but his combat strength wasn’t weak, as the original story had him fight using ropes.

The other person’s identity was more peculiar, which was Kalifa. Kalifa had long golden hair tied up, wearing colored lens glasses, her office attire was extremely seductive.

Being a secretary wasn’t Kalifa’s real identity, she was a member of the World Government Secret Organization CP9.

CP9 is an intelligence organization directly under the World Government, primarily responsible for assassination, enemy rear destruction, intelligence stealing, and other confidential missions.

As a member of CP9, Kalifa’s combat strength was average within CP9’s internal hierarchy, of course, this was among CP9’s ranks, but in the City of Seven Seas, against people like Barry, Kalifa would finish them in less than three minutes.

Iceberg and the others were followed by a large group of shipwrights, who dispersed quickly to scout the area.

Iceberg walked up to Su Xiao, looking at him covered in gunshot wounds.

”What happened?”

Iceberg didn’t look too happy, Su Xiao had just arrived in the City of Seven Seas for a day, and such a massive explosion occurred.

”A group of pirates infiltrated here from the inner harbor, trying to tow away that ship.”

Su Xiao sat on the ground, pointing to a relatively intact ship in the ship graveyard.

”Someone else trying to steal a ship? How many exactly?”

”Three people, I injured two before they jumped into the sea and fled.”

The large bloodstains and battle marks on the ground were the best proof, Su Xiao was now a member of the Galley-La Company; after discovering the ship thieves and driving them away, Iceberg couldn’t keep probing, as that would chill the hearts of other subordinates.

If you help the boss do things and he just keeps questioning you, nobody would want to follow such a leader.

Iceberg pondered for a while, considering Su Xiao had just arrived in the City of Seven Seas for only one day, it was unlikely he had personal enemies, ruling out the possibility of personal revenge.

”You worked hard, Kalifa, help Mister Bai Ye urgently treat his wounds, he’s losing blood.”

Kalifa walked up gracefully, the click-clack of her high heels on the ground resounded. Upon seeing Su Xiao’s gun wounds, Kalifa’s pupils contracted; he was so severely injured yet not dead, and remained composed, which made her wary.

Upon hearing Iceberg request Kalifa to help treat his wounds, Su Xiao’s heart raced in alarm; Kalifa was an agent who could poison him while treating his wounds.

”Thank you, Mr. Iceberg, these are just minor injuries; I can handle them myself.”

”Mister Bai Ye, please don’t move, you are severely wounded.”

Kalifa pressed down Su Xiao’s shoulder, his face turned uglier, this woman was certainly up to no good, as he sensed a faint killing intent.

Noticing Iceberg had walked away, Su Xiao whispered into Kalifa’s ear: ”Eager to treat my wounds?”

Warm air blew on Kalifa’s earlobe, making her expression visibly uneasy.

”You’re sexually harassing me.”

With a ripping sound, as she spoke, Kalifa tore off Su Xiao’s tattered shirt, exposing ten gunshot wounds on his chest and back.

”Mister Bai Ye, don’t move, I’ll help you treat the wounds now.”

Kalifa’s voice was soft and gentle, seemingly like a kind nurse, yet a tiny glass vial slipped out of her sleeve at that moment, Kalifa’s body suddenly stiffened.

”What are you doing?” Kalifa’s tone was harsh, lacking her previous gentleness.

”What did I do?”

Su Xiao looked at Kalifa’s right hand with a faint smile; her hand was frozen in mid-air.

”Is it not rude to treat a lady like this?”

Despite her unfriendly tone, Kalifa dared not move, unbeknownst to her, a thin metallic line had appeared in her sleeve, snaking into her clothes, coiling around the skin of her chest and abdomen, its chilling sharpness all too clear to Kalifa.

”Continue ’treating’ my wounds, could that bottle in your hand be a family secret recipe?”

Su Xiao had silently bound Kalifa with the Boundary Line, ready to teach her a lesson she’d never forget if she dared to play tricks, a gentle tug on the Boundary Line would not only slit her throat but also reduce her cup size rapidly; less than three seconds and she’d resemble an airplane runway.

”Who are you?” Kalifa’s slender fingers dug into the bullet wound on Su Xiao’s back, forcefully digging out a bullet.

”A wandering swordsman, with an interest in killing, so don’t provoke me, ssi—.”

Su Xiao grimaced in pain, Kalifa did that on purpose, he immediately tightened the Boundary Line, Kalifa’s face blushed, her body quivering slightly, her breath a little heightened.

”Dig bullets from my wounds with your fingers again, and I’ll string you up like sausage.”

Since his strength was exposed, Su Xiao didn’t mind other exposure too; if he didn’t keep Kalifa in check, this agent would surely poison him, CP9’s agents remove all strong recruits within the Galley-La Company, left him no choice but this now.

Even if he didn’t expose himself, the Special Trio wouldn’t let him off.

Su Xiao looked at the flushed Kalifa, enduring even in this situation; she seemed more afraid of exposure than he was.

Even better was he had taken Kalifa hostage, never had he thought taking a CP9 agent hostage could be this simple.
