Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Under the sunlight.

A ship sails across the endless sea.

The distinctive bird-headed bow, and the hull adorned with vine-like relief patterns.

The most eye-catching feature is a large tree growing on the deck of this ship.

Crystals and gemstones, reflecting various colors under the sunlight, hang from the tree.

Interestingly, the deck is also covered with a layer of grass. Upon closer inspection, it is evident that the grass is genuinely growing from the deck.

Alka stands at the helm, gazing at the boundless sea ahead.

A small flag with a red Cross Star Mark is inserted into the ship’s wheel.

This is the Guiding Banner of the Southern Cross Island, directing everyone towards the Southern Cross Island.

”How long will we sail this time to reach our destination?” Lucilia, sitting on Alka’s shoulder, asked.

Hearing this, Alka thought for a moment and replied, ”According to our previous calculations, plus the current speed boost of the Sound of Dawn, it should take three to four months.”

”Does it really take that long?”

”It’s already quite fast, and that’s only to reach the Broken Sea Region; to get to Southern Cross Island, it might take an additional half a month,” Alka said, considering that they were quite far from Gemini Island to the Southern Cross Island.

Although broken, and the Endless Sea remains chaotic and disordered, there are stable Landmark Islands in the Sea of Clouds.

Thus, the region is divided into prosperous areas and relatively remote areas, and the Broken Sea Region where they appeared can hardly be described as remote but rather bordering.

From what they understand, traversing from the Homeland Sea to the Endless Sea usually lands them in distant areas. This is considered one of the most chaotic parts of the Endless Sea.

The chaos here doesn’t manifest in a disordered direction but in desolation.

The Broken Sea Region itself is a patched-up world formed by fragments of broken worlds and oceans combined.

Despite thousands of years of collective human efforts, it has only stabilized to the more central regions.

The peripheral areas like these are challenging to reach.

For instance, the chaotic sea surface flips and spatial disarray they encountered in the Broken Sea Region could only be experienced in such bordering sea areas.

The ocean anomalies here are more exaggerated than anywhere else.

This can be seen as part of their sailing experience.

On their journey from Border Island towards Gemini Island, it was noticeable that the exaggerated chaotic disasters gradually decreased.

At this moment, Alka notices Simon coming up from the lower deck.

He quickly asks, ”Simon, have you learned anything about that matter I asked?”

Simon nods his head, ”I looked up some information and roughly understand the history and current situation of the Saralan Empire.”

Hearing this, Lucilia also showed some curiosity.

The others on the deck, engaged in their activities, also gathered around, awaiting his explanation.

Simon takes out his notebook, flips through it, and begins recounting to everyone.

”The Saralan Empire, its first founder is the savior Saralans, who was a Chosen One of the Sea God.”

Saying this, he glanced at Pororo nearby.

The crowd also looked at him with curiosity.

Pororo shrugged his shoulders helplessly, responding, ”Don’t look at me. I don’t quite understand what a Chosen One specifically means.”

”Aren’t you a devoted follower of the Sea God? You’re also the Storm Champion,” Jason inquired beside him, puzzled.

At this, Pororo pointed to himself, ”What part of me looks like a devoted follower? I’m a merman. I believed in the ocean since childhood and lived in the ocean, hence naturally becoming a follower of the Sea God.”

”I don’t get things like prayers and hymns.”

Pororo waved it off irritably, unbothered by his actions.

Although most followers of the Sea God are like this, indeed, in this world, ocean storms and such could be considered part of the Sea God.

So the Sea God never proactively evangelizes.

Matilda, standing next to him, rubbed her forehead helplessly.

She explained on the side, ”The concept of the ’Chosen One’, is the same as that in other churches, there’s no difference.”

Matilda too is a believer of the Sea God, and her entire race committed a grave sin, punished by the Sea God to guard the passage door.

Even as Matilda said so, Alka still didn’t understand.

His understanding of religion... let’s just say, was not much unlike Pororo’s, perhaps even less so.

He silently turned his head towards Chadite beside him.

After all, as a former Preparatory Saintess, she should know this.

Seeing Alka’s gaze, Chadite rolled her eyes helplessly and explained, ”The so-called ’Chosen One’ simply means someone chosen by a god.

However, at the Church of Gemini, I gained more understanding. It roughly means being willing to accept the power granted by the Divine, but unwilling to wholly devote oneself to the Divine.”

”Their actions meet a particular god’s needs, akin to an investment relationship,” Simon supplemented beside her.

With such explanations, Alka roughly understood.

If a Deputy or a Saint is a devotee of a Divine, naturally, the Divine would endow their power upon their followers.
