Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Upon hearing this, Alka turned his head to look at him.

”No need to look at me like that; I didn’t say you had to leave right now. It’s just that the current stage of the trial isn’t very beneficial for you. Unless your strength increases enough for you to enter the next layer, then this layer will become a challenge. But by that time, you’ll have obtained the 19 Spirals, and you’ll spend even more time in this place. It’s not good to always stay in one spot, moping and training hard.”

Alka nodded. ”Is that so? Thank you for your guidance recently. I’ll come back to see you once I’m stronger. But before that, I have to wait for my companion to enter challenge mode before I leave.”

Upon hearing this, the instructor beside him shook his head with a smile.

”Don’t even think about it; they certainly can’t enter the challenge at the current stage.”

”Why?” Alka turned to look at him, asking with some confusion.

”Your two friends who passed the challenge today did so because they don’t possess Divinity... hmm, or as you call it these days, they don’t possess Treasure.”

”The Difficulty of their challenge was naturally not high, so it was easy for them to reach their bottleneck and achieve a breakthrough.”

He then turned his head again, looked at Alka seriously, and said, ”But it’s different for people like you. Those of you who possess Divinity, meaning you control Treasure, will face a greatly increased Difficulty.”

”For you, the Difficulty will be set to that of a Demigod, requiring you to meet Demigod standards in the challenge.”

”The world has become somewhat strange now, unfamiliar to me. But when the Tower of Trial was built, such changes were certainly not anticipated.

”Demigods are born with special abilities representing their respective Divinities, abilities they can control as freely as their own hands.

”But you are different; you control these abilities through the medium of a Treasure. You require complete mastery of the Treasure just to reach the starting point Demigods once had.

”The freedom and proficiency in controlling power between the two are simply incomparable, wouldn’t you agree?

”How could you possibly overcome such Difficulty right now? Advancing through trials and surpassing oneself is predicated on the Difficulty not being exaggerated.

”If you’re faced with a despair-inducing opponent, one who can easily defeat you, then the so-called trial and advancement become meaningless.”

”Therefore, the instructor responsible for them surely won’t let them waste this hard-earned opportunity.”

Hearing these explanations, Alka finally nodded. So that’s how it is.

Then how did ordinary people without Treasure enhance their strength before the Divine War?

”Then when can they attempt the challenge?” Alka asked.

”I don’t quite understand the expressions of power in this current era,” the instructor said after thinking for a moment. ”But if I had to set a standard, hmm... it would be when they can control their Treasure to the extent you do now.”

Hearing this, Alka nodded, a glimmer of understanding in his eyes. So, like me now? That means one must reach the Fourth Stage. Only at that stage can they fully master their Treasure and, by doing so, pass a challenge intensity specifically designed for Demigods.

Understanding this point, Alka asked no more questions. Instead, he chatted casually about other matters.

”Speaking of which, what was the world like before the Divine War?” Alka couldn’t resist asking.

”That’s quite a question, with much to tell. It was certainly different from how it is now. The world... it’s all shattered,” the instructor said, as if sighing with emotion. The world he had once lived in was now in fragments. A sense of desolation filled his heart at the thought.

Yet he continued, ”In the era I lived in, the world’s size was unknown; we only knew it was vast, incredibly vast. It comprised three massive continents, and numerous islands surrounding them.”

”Back then, the Divine still built their kingdoms upon the land. They walked the mortal world, lived among their respective followers, and spread their individual philosophies.

”And precisely because of this, all sorts of mortal life forms began to believe in these powerful individuals, respectfully calling them ’Divine’ and adhering to the philosophies they imparted.”

”If we were to speak of specifics, there would be far too much to say; we could talk for days and nights and still not finish. Besides, until my death, I was only ever active in the southern part of the Sacred Continent. My knowledge of more distant places was merely hearsay.”

At this point, he looked at Alka with an amused expression and said, ”It’s a bit embarrassing to admit, but I had never sailed the seas before my death. So, I can’t quite appreciate what your life is like now.”

Just as people nowadays can’t truly appreciate what life on a continent was like, though Alka, at least, had experienced it.

”Alright, that’s enough idle chatter for now. I hope I’ll have the chance to see you again. I also hope you won’t be crushed by the goals you’ve chosen for yourself.”

Hearing this, Alka stood up and nodded.

”Don’t worry. I’ll definitely live a full life, live until the day I achieve my goal.”

”Haha, in that case, I shall eagerly await it.”

The instructor said this while looking at Alka. He smiled, nodded, then reached out and clapped him firmly on the shoulder.

His figure vanished on the spot.

Alka, too, returned to the secret chamber where he always appeared upon entry. He gazed at the now-closed door for a moment, then he too vanished on the spot.
