Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 342: Chapter 197: Encountering the Dream Death God Again_2

After all, creatures in the Dream Realm do not possess any so-called physiological structure. When they die, they simply dissolve into countless lights and shadows and disappear entirely, leaving no possibility for dissection.

The best approach is to observe.

After marking everything properly, Alka’s figure vanished, diving into Lucilia’s personal Dream World.

At that moment, Lucilia was in an awakened state within the Dream Realm. Recently, every time Lucilia appeared in the Dream Realm, Alka had to go in and wake her; this was at her own request. By now, Lucilia’s personal Dream World had become unrecognizable, transformed into a series of varied obstacle courses and traps. After diving into the Dream Bubbles, Alka arrived at the safe platform above her Dream. He wasn’t eager to go down and take a few inexplicable hits, although most of these traps were designed by him. If all the trap mechanisms in her Dream World were arranged and viewed on a large scale, they would resemble a kind of level-clearing arcade game. Alka designed these mechanisms based on such level-clearing games, making them even more anti-human, because being anti-human was precisely their purpose. The intention was to get Lucilia accustomed to the puppet’s body, rather than letting her mindset linger on a body of flesh and blood. While dodging, it was best if she could also experience the peculiar effects achievable with the puppet body. These efforts were all part of Lucilia’s goal to create a fighting style suitable for her puppet body.

From below came the sound of an explosion, and a pitch-black figure was blown upward, landing on the safe platform. Lucilia was charred all over. She waved away the smoke in front of her and coughed, expelling a black mist from her mouth. Then, she patted herself and was instantly restored, as good as new. After all, this was the Dream Realm—her own dream.

”Alka? Why are you here?”

”I encountered the Dream Death God outside again. Do you want to observe it together this time? Don’t you need to record it?”

Upon hearing this, Lucilia stood up immediately, her eyes brightening. ”No problem, let’s hurry.”

Lucilia was very interested in the Dream Death God Alka had previously recorded and had specifically instructed him to bring her along if he encountered it again and had the chance. So, Alka had come.

After speaking, she took Alka and flew into the sky. During the flight, Alka enveloped them both with mist, breaking through the layer of Dream Bubbles. Upon reaching the outside, Alka took Lucilia to their previous location, where they hid behind the clouds.

Lucilia looked at the sphere as a notebook and drawing pen materialized in her hands. The reason these objects could appear outside her Dream Bubbles was that Alka had simulated them for her with pink mist. This capability of the pink mist within the Dream Realm was a feature Alka gained after advancing to the Second Stage. These writings and drawings couldn’t be brought out of the Dream Realm. However, they served to deepen Lucilia’s memory, enabling her to replicate them clearly in the outside world.

Gazing at the black and white sphere in the distance, along with the Scythe encircling it, she began sketching its form. While drawing, she asked, ”Is this the sphere you mentioned, the form he takes when resting?”

Alka nodded. Like peeping explorers, they observed in secret.

”What’s that pink mist coming out from both sides? It doesn’t seem the same as yours.”

Soon, Lucilia noticed very faint, light pink mist particles drifting from either side of the sphere. They were almost indistinguishable unless one looked very carefully.

Alka squinted for a closer look. ”That should be the food he’s consuming. This kind of pink mist is usually Dream Energy. I’ve seen them feed like this before.”

”So, is he currently digesting his food, or rather, the Dream Energy? And are those exposed particles the byproduct of his digestion?”

So it can’t achieve perfect utilization? Lucilia muttered to herself as she began to write in her notebook.

Soon afterward, Alka sensed the Dream Realm stirring in the distance. ”Pay attention, something is approaching.”

Upon hearing this, Lucilia, who was observing, looked closely.

It was a Dream creature resembling a serpent, about two meters in length. Its form was more like a serpentine shadow, its surface entirely black with no visible eyes or other features. It moved slowly through the dreamscape.

It seems to be deliberately moving toward the black modules that match its color, perhaps for concealment? It was a Dream creature unlike any she had seen before. Lucilia turned a page and started recording.

”Is it trying to prey on the Dream Death God?” Alka asked, observing with increased caution. The behavior of the shadow-like serpentine creature now strongly resembled that of a predator.

And so, the shadow-like serpent creature reached a position about three meters from the Death God’s side. The shadowy serpent was now extending its body as slowly as a turtle, trying its best not to disturb the Dream Death God’s slumber.

Just as it approached to about two meters, the Dream Death God awoke. As if startled, the sphere instantly transformed into a humanoid figure draped in a Cloak of Light and Shadow.
