From Arsenal to the Ball God

”What are your expectations for Ma’el this month? Or rather, what achievements do you hope he will reach?”

”I hope he wins his second Player of the Month award in the Premier League and clinches the English League Cup by the end of the month, haha...”

Due to the excellent production quality, all participants in the first episode were heavyweight figures. Shortly after the broadcast, the program received a lot of praise.

Many Ma’el fans who were still observing chose to subscribe, and the number of subscriptions quickly soared from 12,000 to 19,000, and then reached 26,000 by that evening.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s column debuted with Ma’el and the newly joined Kyle Walker.

Originally, Ma’el intended to start it alone, but after several recordings without good results, he invited Walker, who had just joined the team, to attract more attention.

This column included some previously unreleased training footage, locker room speeches, and meetings excerpts, which were quite interesting and enough to attract many fans’ interest.

With Ma’el currently in the spotlight and Kyle Walker at the center of attention, the program garnered significant attention upon its release.

”Did you see his intensity in the defender position? Fack!”

On camera, Kyle Walker looked at Ma’el’s stats from the match against Manchester United, shaking his head in awe: ”Horrible! He’ll astonish all defenders, I guarantee it!”

”Anyway, I’ve surrendered. A couple of days ago, I told one of the assistant coaches that they shouldn’t have too high expectations just because I’m Arsenal’s record signing of recent seasons.

”Even though I’m a pure defender, I might not match Ma’el’s defensive intensity in that match. He’s absolutely terrifying!”

”Haha...!”

This ’unintentionally’ leaked clip quickly sparked interest among Arsenal fans to subscribe to the column, while it enraged Tottenham fans.

Not long after, subscription numbers soared, surpassing 30,000 overnight, outpacing the ’Ma’el’s column’.

The next morning, Ma’el drove to the newspaper office. As he went upstairs, several employees greeted him with happy smiles, seeming in high spirits.

”Morning, boss.”

Amelia was waiting for him at the front desk with a cup of hot coffee. Her face also showed happiness, and before Ma’el could ask, she couldn’t help but smile and say: ”The total number of subscriptions for the two columns is now nearly 80,000.

”It’s not the number of times people subscribed, but the number of people. One-quarter chose to subscribe to both columns.”

Ma’el took the coffee and walked with her toward Peter’s office.

Since Amelia got popular on social media, her style has become more refined. Today she was wearing a dark red business suit, with a pencil skirt and thick nude stockings, looking both sweet and spicy.

”Here you are.”

When Peter saw Ma’el coming in, he quickly adjusted the backend data and offered him the seat.

Ma’el sat in his seat and saw detailed data such as view counts and conversion rates, as well as the current total sales revenue.

”1,284,200 pounds.”

He joyfully slapped the table. This was just from the first day of broadcasting, generated by 80,000 subscriptions.

Imagine maintaining this momentum and having over 500,000 subscribers by season’s end—the numbers would be terrifying.

”Want to see detailed accounts?”

Peter observed Ma’el’s expression and smiled, ”Some people booked in advance for 9.9 pounds, some bought one for 14.9, and some bought both programs for 24.9.

”Every price point is different, so there’s a fairly clear statistical table.”

Ma’el nodded, and after Peter brought it up, he glanced at it and then moved aside, saying, ”Do a good job, if we execute well, this program could bring us 10 million pounds a year.”

”Yes.” Peter couldn’t help but clench his fist and smiled, ”And this is just on the surface, the soft improvement and hidden income it brings to the newspaper is tremendous.”

Amelia, holding her hands behind her back, did some quick calculations and then gasped.

If they could earn 10 million pounds a year, wouldn’t her base salary + bonuses + hosting fees exceed about £300,000?

She suppressed her excitement, thinking she must invite Ma’el to dinner alone to show her gratitude.

...

February 3rd, the 23rd round of the Premier League arrived, with Arsenal playing away against Bolton Wanderers.

The new month’s journey finally began, and the match would reveal whether the team could present a new look.

Since the last game’s fierce play, muscle soreness was significant, so Ma’el sat on the bench for this match, with Henry starting in his place.

”Did you find a personal doctor?”

Philip sat beside him and asked curiously, recommending, ”I know some people over here. If you haven’t found one, I can introduce a few.”

”Found one already.” Ma’el replied with a smile. Mendes had actually already connected him with a renowned sports medicine expert, and they were set to meet and discuss the contract in the coming days.

”Good to hear.” Philip nodded and asked again, ”Mind telling me his name?”

”Lewis.”

”Him?” Philip’s eyes brightened, ”A famous sports rehabilitation and recovery doctor in London. He was among the ones I wanted to recommend to you. He must be expensive!”

”Yes.”

Ma’el didn’t expect Philip to know him too, and said with a pained expression, ”Much more expensive than personal trainers and physiotherapists; even as a part-timer, he asked for a 7,000-pound weekly pay. I’m considering whether to pay per consultation.”
