From Arsenal to the Ball God

That day was the first time she met Ma’el; before, she had only heard of him and never clearly realized what kind of player he was.

Plus, she had some morning grumpiness, complaining nonstop along the way, with lots of disdain and offense.

It wasn’t until she accompanied Isabella to watch the awards ceremony that she finally gained a clearer understanding of Ma’el, a superstar ranking in the world’s top ten of the world’s number one sport... Such a person, even his parents wouldn’t dare disregard him.

That he could wear clothes from their store was their honor, and it might very well elevate their store’s value to another level.

”Four hundred thousand pounds a piece.”

Isabella felt a tremor in her heart; this was no different than a money machine, right? A little over a year ago, she had signed Ma’el for endorsement at a similar price.

”Here he comes, here he comes.” Aisha saw a Ferrari appearing across the street, instinctively nudging Isabella with her arm, face even more flustered.

Unlike her good friend, she had long known Ma’el and had a good foundation of relationship.

Knowing the other’s value made interactions a bit reserved, which was normal... After all, they were just a bespoke shop, not a big brand like Puma.

Isabella glanced at her, lifting her small chin slightly, a curve forming at the corner of her mouth, somehow finding a few elements of enjoyment.

She stepped forward a few paces, signaling Ma’el to just park the car at the store entrance.

”The next heartthrob!”

Behind her, Aisha’s family was whispering, all discussing Ma’el.

”Exactly.”

”What luck did Aisha have exactly, this counts as hitting the jackpot... If she hadn’t gotten up that day, we wouldn’t have had this opportunity.”

”We should properly compensate her and her good friend; I heard it’s because her friend has a good relationship with Ma’el.”

”Oh~ That kind of relationship?”

”Stop spreading rumors.”

Isabella’s heartbeat uncontrollably sped up, feeling that quite a few people behind her were watching, which sparked a bit of pride within her.

”Ma’el.”

Seeing Ma’el get out of the car, she, as usual, raised her chin revealing a sunny smile, ”Congratulations, you’re close to the goal.”

”Haha...” Ma’el closed the car door, knowing she was referring to the agreement they made in the car, ”Yeah, almost there.”

He stepped forward, shared a cheek-kiss greeting with Isabella, tightly hugged a bit, then greeted Aisha.

”Sorry.” Aisha was a bit flustered, unexpectedly choosing an inappropriate opening line, ”Originally, it was just me; my family insisted on coming after hearing the news, really sorry.”

Ma’el lightly hugged her, seeing the people behind her, smiled shaking his head: ”No worries, I quite enjoy the bustle.”

That’s actually the truth; he didn’t like things too quiet, seemed to be accustomed to this.

”Ma’el.”

A person around fifty years old came forward; those standing by the entrance were about the same age, all wearing suits today, ”I’m Aisha’s uncle, honored you could come here, please come in.

”Coffee or tea? Or would you like to enjoy some red wine in the store?”

”No need for anything.” Ma’el smiled, waved a refusal: ”I have training in the afternoon, will stay just a bit longer.”

He walked towards the store with everyone, instinctively turned back, found Isabella naturally beside him, very close.

”Oh.” Aisha’s uncle was quite the speaker, seeing this scene, hurriedly said to Isabella: ”Also honored that Aisha has a friend like you, otherwise we wouldn’t meet this year’s Golden Boy.”

”Haha.....” The group smiled, welcoming Ma’el and Isabella as they headed upstairs.

Isabella’s face slightly reddened, yet she politely nodded to them, during which she naturally linked arms with Ma’el.

Upstairs, they chatted for a while; due to Ma’el’s afternoon training, they quickly had him wear a set of the store’s clothes and took a few photos together.

”Really, truly thankful.”

Aisha’s uncle seemed to be the true head of the store, with one hand covering his chest and the other spreading open expressing gratitude, ”We just were very earnest in doing one thing well, never thought of anything else.

”Unexpectedly, thanks to my niece’s lucky move, suddenly had this opportunity.”

”We’ll purchase one of your Twitter ads; everyone knows we can’t afford to have a world top ten star leave these for free, so please don’t decline.”

He remembered Isabella, hurriedly pointed at her to add: ”Ah, even though Aisha has a very... romantic relationship with you, but we don’t dare take advantage of her status to do this.”

Ma’el exchanged cordial words with them, then prepared to leave; the whole time Aisha didn’t say much, just followed with a smile from behind.

After coming downstairs and getting into the car, everyone came to see him off; Isabella also approached his car window, sweetly smiling and waving goodbye.

”Emm.....”

Ma’el rolled down the car window, glanced at Aisha in the distance then at Isabella, ”She has a very good relationship with you?”

”The best.” Isabella nodded, explained: ”Played together since childhood, we will definitely be lifelong friends.”

”Good.”

Ma’el flashed her a smile, ”Then tell her, since she’s your friend, Mendes and I won’t charge her advertising fee.

”I will post those photos as casual shots and also casually mention the brand name.”

In this past year, he has owed Isabella quite a lot, such as signing with Puma before his contract was up... She not only didn’t mind but also continually treated him well, taking care of a lot of things in life.
