Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1077: Chapter 1077: Mia’s Decision

”I’m also investigating this,” David Dalton told her, ”but before we find anything, you must be careful. Your father is very worried about you right now.”

Mia Lane stepped forward, took her father’s hand, and said with a kind smile on her face, ”Don’t worry, I’ll tell Justin Kingston about this. Anyway, he personally picks me up to and from work, and I know a bit of martial arts myself. Dad, you don’t have to worry.”

Then Mia Lane changed the topic, ”Dad, has Ethan been to see a doctor about his condition?”

”Yes.” David Dalton thought of his son, and his mood inevitably turned heavy. He sighed, ”Before he was two, he was still quite normal—very lively and often calling out for mom and dad.”

”What about after he turned two?” Mia asked.

David Dalton recalled and honestly told her, ”After he turned two, we gradually noticed he was different from his peers. His reactions were slow, and eventually, he ignored us and could go a whole day without saying a word.”

”What did the doctors say?”

”Intellectual disability combined with autism. We’ve seen many doctors, tried medicines and injections for years, but nothing worked. The medication probably stunted his growth.”

Upon hearing her father’s words, Mia Lane roughly understood the child’s situation.

”Dad, I can tell you really care about him.”

Mia Lane slightly raised her lips, ”If you trust me, leave him to me. I’d like to try and see if I can get him better.”

”You?” David Dalton looked at his daughter in confusion.

Facing her father’s gaze, she nodded firmly, ”Yes, do you know Ian Shelby? Justin’s private doctor, the genius pharmacist who developed many new medications to benefit humanity.”

”I know, I’ve read reports about him.”

”I’m his mentor,” Mia Lane told him, ”The pharmacist Cora Yates is me.”

David Dalton was utterly shocked, ”At this moment... standing in front of me is an authority, how can I not trust you? If there is even a glimmer of hope, I hope he can be cured.”

In her father’s voice, she heard a slight tremble of excitement.

David Dalton’s emotions were a bit stirred—being a father, the years of heartache and helplessness were hard to express.

”Honestly, I don’t expect Ethan to become successful, just to live like a normal person, earn a modest salary, and contribute to the world, so he’s not seen as a waste by everyone.”

”Dad.”

Mia Lane grasped his shoulder, holding back the sadness resonating in her heart, and comforted him, ”He’s not a waste. He’s your son and has your love, and with all of us giving him warmth, combined with effective treatment, he will definitely get better. Trust me!”

”Stella...” David Dalton, in turn, grasped her shoulders, looking at her with emotion, ”You’re truly kind.”

”A doctor’s benevolence.”

Mia Lane no longer cared about identities; regardless of whose child Ethan Dalton was, he could still bring solace to her father’s remaining years.

Let his father live in this lie.

She really didn’t have the heart to expose it.

And the child is innocent; if Ethan Dalton could choose, he wouldn’t have wanted to be born from Joan Graham’s womb.

Soon, Butler Warren came upstairs to call the father and daughter for lunch.

Today’s lunch was particularly lavish, with 58 delicious dishes laid out on the long marble table.

For David Dalton, this was not an ordinary Mid-Autumn Festival.

Today was significant: he reunited with his daughter, brought back a successful son-in-law, and had a pair of lively, healthy grandchildren.

Trevor was also dining here; he was courteous, spoke little, yet exuded the charm of a mature man.
