Hijacking the Timeline

Feng Qi strode purposefully along the route to Star City Shelter.

Although the surrounding environment had shifted slightly due to the butterfly effect, he could still maintain his general direction by observing the Blood Moon in the sky and distant landmarks, ensuring he wouldn’t get lost.

Suddenly, the Narrator’s voice echoed in his mind:

Your weapon is ravenously hungry and demands to feed to replenish its energy, or it will go on strike.

The Narrator’s warning startled him. He immediately realized he still had the three spirit plants he had harvested with Suction Cup stored within his body, unused.

As for the fiery red fruit, it had vanished during his pursuit by little black, its whereabouts unknown.

He extracted the three spirit plants lodged in his chest cavity and held them out to Suction Cup, who was clinging to his left arm.

Suction Cup instinctively twitched her nose, sniffing the air before opening her mouth and beginning to devour the spirit plants.

”Is it good?” Feng Qi asked with a smile, watching her devour the plants.

Suction Cup ignored him, her puffed-out cheeks looking remarkably springy as she chewed and swallowed the three spirit plants in just a few bites.

Suction Cup’s powerful digestive abilities instantly pulverized the spirit plant she had swallowed, transforming it into energy that surged through her body. The rune crystal on her left arm pulsed with light.

Seeing this, he felt his hypothesis had been confirmed.

Having inherited Mu Qing’s abilities, Suction Cup could repair her body and enhance herself by consuming energy-rich substances.

As long as he continued to find energy-rich materials for Suction Cup, her injuries would rapidly heal.

With this realization, a new idea sparked in his mind. He immediately asked:

”Narrator, would consuming domain creatures have the same effect as spirit plants for Suction Cup?”

As long as her digestion is strong enough, she can even extract energy from special minerals containing spiritual energy.

The Narrator’s response ignited a fresh strategy.

Beyond searching for spirit plants, he could take Suction Cup hunting for domain creatures.

He could finish them off to absorb their qi and blood, gaining new abilities, while Suction Cup devoured their bodies to heal her injuries.

The only problem was that Suction Cup wouldn’t stop until she had killed a domain creature, making it difficult for him to secure the final blow.

”Suction Cup, can you understand me? We’re going to hunt domain creatures soon. Leave them barely alive for me to finish off, got it?”

Hearing this, Suction Cup slowly rested her head on his arm and closed her eyes.

Suction Cup: You talk a good game, but I’m not listening at all.

Feng Qi: ...

Glancing up at the Blood Moon, he continued on his way.

Little black and the Goat-Headed Demon were still locked in combat and wouldn’t be able to catch up for a while, giving him time to strengthen Suction Cup.

The closer he got to Star City Shelter, the fewer domain creatures he encountered. To attract their attention, he began singing loudly, hoping to lure them with the noise.

With Suction Cup by his side, he felt fearless.

Having been in the Future Dream Realm for so long, he had never acted so brazenly before.

This is what they call ”a dog riding on its master’s momentum.” You’re becoming more like that Ah Huang from a thousand years ago. The Meng Po Soup’s effects seem to be wearing off; your true self is about to awaken.

Feng Qi: ...

”Just you wait. Sooner or later, I’ll drag you out of my body and flick a thousand forehead taps on you.”

You’ve spotted a yellow mass approximately 5 meters to your right.

Hearing the Narrator’s prompt, Feng Qi, already frustrated, paused in surprise. He immediately turned his gaze toward the nearby yellow mass.

Approaching the mass, he crouched down to examine it.

”What is this?”

Smell it. See if it suits your taste.

Upon hearing this, Feng Qi suddenly realized the problem, his expression darkening immediately.

He had initially assumed the Narrator had discovered another treasure, only to find it was a trap he had nearly fallen for out of misplaced trust.

”Come on, come out! We’re settling this today!”

Let’s switch to trash talk. Fighting isn’t my forte, but trash talk is my specialty. Using your strengths against your opponent’s weaknesses is the best strategy.

Feng Qi: ...

Just as he was about to unleash his verbal assault, the tall grass to his right rustled violently, as if some creature were rapidly approaching.

Seeing this, he instinctively raised the Suction Cup to his chest.

Body-Protecting Suction Cup deployed! Entering combat mode!

The Narrator announced dramatically.

As he waited, a two-meter-tall arthropod leaped from the grass, lunging straight at him.

The creature resembled a mantis, its entire body glowing with an eerie green luminescence. Its massive forelimbs, like two gleaming scythes, flashed with razor-sharp edges, while its back was covered in a layer of grayish-white material, giving it a truly menacing appearance.

Even before its body appeared, a violent gust of wind slammed into Feng Qi’s face. The creature’s gleaming forelimbs slashed directly toward his head.

At that moment, Suction Cup’s eyes suddenly snapped open. Starlight flickered within her pupils, and for a split second, her eyes seemed to transform into swirling galaxies, radiating brilliant, dazzling light.

Seeing this, Feng Qi decisively hurled Suction Cup at the Mantis Domain Creature.

A crystalline jade-like sheen flowed across Suction Cup’s surface as she executed a diving slash. The strike landed squarely on the creature’s carapace, yet failed to even scratch its hide.

Despite the impact, Suction Cup was sent flying backward by the force of the Mantis Domain Creature’s forelimbs.

But the moment she landed, her legs coiled like springs, launching her back into the fray. With lightning speed, she pounced on the Mantis Domain Creature, seized its lower right leg, and executed a brutal over-the-shoulder throw.

Boom!

The ground trembled as the Mantis Domain Creature crashed down, its body convulsing from the impact. The creature’s ferocious gaze dissolved into dazed confusion.

”Suction Cup, remember to leave me a bite!” Feng Qi shouted, retreating several steps to avoid being caught in the crossfire.

After all, he couldn’t withstand the Mantis Domain Creature’s slashes. One wrong move and he might end up with his head lopped off while watching the fight up close.

Life is precious, worth 880,000 credits—he couldn’t afford to waste it.

Coward!

”Shut up. If you’re so brave, go fight it yourself.”

His gaze shifted forward. After slamming the Mantis Domain Creature to the ground, Suction Cup gave it no chance to retaliate. Her clenched fists erupted with jade-colored light as she punched through the creature’s spine, sending green blood splattering.

Realizing it had met its match, the Mantis Domain Creature hissed and struggled desperately to escape.

But Suction Cup’s second punch followed immediately, piercing through its chest and creating a crater in the ground.

Recognizing the creature’s inability to resist further, Feng Qi rushed forward, shouting:

”Suction Cup, stop! Leave it some life!”

Suction Cup ignored his plea. Her third punch targeted the creature’s head, crashing down with brutal force.

Like a watermelon shattering, a mixture of white and green fluids exploded outward. The Mantis Domain Creature, which had been flailing its limbs in its death throes, instantly went still.

Approaching Suction Cup, Feng Qi watched her devour the creature’s carcass, feeling helpless.

”Couldn’t you have left me some?”

Retreat about 300 meters. I’ve saved that yellow lump for you.

Feng Qi: ...

Sensing Feng Qi’s emotional shift, Suction Cup paused her feasting, glanced up at him, then detached a forelimb from the Mantis Domain Creature, raised it above her head, and offered it to him.

”Here, you eat it. I can’t finish it,” she said with a hint of resignation.

Suction Cup held the limb aloft for several seconds. When Feng Qi didn’t take it, a flicker of confusion crossed her face. She then bit off a large chunk of the limb, chewed demonstratively, and swallowed, as if to assure him it was non-toxic and edible.

Hearing the ”crunch” of her powerful jaws, Feng Qi couldn’t help but admire Suction Cup’s dental fortitude.

After swallowing, Suction Cup raised the limb again, seemingly eager to share her ”delicacy.”

Feng Qi: ...

Just eat it. If you don’t, you’ll lose face with Suction Cup. And beware of weapon rebellion.

”You talk too much. If you’re so brave, you eat it,” Feng Qi retorted, rolling his eyes.

He suspected the limb was as hard as steel. Only Suction Cup, with her inherited abilities from Mu Qing, could possibly consume such a thing. He certainly couldn’t stomach it.

Noticing Feng Qi’s continued refusal, Suction Cup abandoned her offer. She swallowed the massive limb in three quick bites, then pounced on the Mantis Domain Creature’s carcass, resuming her voracious feast.

As Suction Cup devoured the creature, the shattered rune crystal on her left arm flickered with light, and the jade-like luster of her skin intensified.

For some reason, watching Suction Cup feed was deeply satisfying.

It truly felt like his own ”weapon” was gradually growing stronger.

Weapon absorbing food energy: Strength +1, Body Defense +1, Endurance +1, Stamina +1, Injury Recovery +1. Striving to become stronger...

The Narrator’s voice chimed in, ”attribute-izing” Feng Qi’s sense of momentum.

In less than five minutes, Suction Cup had devoured the two-meter-tall Mantis Domain Creature, leaving behind only a rune crystal.

With a quick push of her feet, she reattached herself to Feng Qi’s left arm.

Weapon enhancement complete! Projectile launcher installed!

Feng Qi: ...

Glancing at Suction Cup’s flat stomach, he gained a renewed appreciation for her terrifying digestive capabilities.

He had always been curious about the origin of the rune crystal embedded in Mu Qing’s body. Its associated abilities were truly terrifying.

As long as she continued to feed, her strength could increase almost without limit.

Since entering Star City Academy, Mu Qing had entered a phase of rapid growth, with free food serving as her primary source of power.

While others had to toil through arduous training to improve their strength, Mu Qing simply needed to eat diligently and then undergo adaptive training in the Body Refinement Chamber.

This kind of growth pattern was practically cheating.

However, the Star City Database classified the origin of the rune crystal embedded in Mu Qing’s left arm as confidential information, making it impossible for him to access.

Perhaps even Mu Qing herself was unaware of the rune crystal’s true source.

Continuing his journey with Suction Cup, Feng Qi encountered two more domain creatures along the way.

But against Suction Cup’s terrifying power, these creatures proved as fragile as toys, typically dispatched with just two punches.

One punch crippled them, the other delivered the killing blow.

This left Feng Qi no opportunity to land the finishing strike.

Feeling both helpless and awed, he couldn’t help but marvel at Suction Cup’s overwhelming strength.

In this region, aside from little black, he hadn’t encountered a domain creature stronger than Suction Cup.

If not for little black’s near-bug-like immunity to all damage, even little black might not stand a chance against Suction Cup.

Following the route etched in his memory, Feng Qi and Suction Cup eventually emerged from the abandoned city and entered a desolate area strewn with withered bones.

This was undoubtedly his domain. Positioning Suction Cup against his chest, he began violently advancing, punching living dead and kicking death worms aside.

Throughout this, Suction Cup’s eyes would repeatedly open and close, activating whenever he entered combat.

His task was to swiftly eliminate the living dead or death worms before Suction Cup could steal the experience with a single punch.
