Hijacking the Timeline

After contacting Bai Fusheng about participating in the Tiger Soul Research Institute’s conceptual competition, Feng Qi received a revised class schedule that same day.

He was now assigned to lead Cultivation Class One of the 22nd cohort in the competition, with one class session per day.

The schedule immediately replaced Cultivation Class One’s body refinement training with a cultivation technique instruction session.

Feng Qi was supremely confident in winning the conceptual competition.

He was entering with a future cultivation system—knowledge that wasn’t merely conceptual but already part of a fully developed cultivation framework.

Even with a field teeming with geniuses, victory would be effortless.

While others relied on talent, he had a cheat code—an unfair advantage.

His first cultivation technique class was scheduled for 1:00 PM. Before it began, he sat at his desk, opened his notebook, and began planning for the future.

His core philosophy for future planning remained:

Survive in reality, thrive in the future.

This was a necessary compromise.

Reality served as the foundation for the future. A misstep in the present could lead to irreversible consequences in the future.

For example, if he were to become a traitor to humanity in reality due to some accident, every subsequent entry into the Dream Realm would begin with his future self already branded as a traitor—a near-certain death sentence.

To ensure his future self had more options and could uncover more useful information, his present self needed to remain grounded and avoid recklessness.

However, ”avoiding recklessness” meant avoiding self-destructive behavior, not necessarily avoiding high-profile actions. For example, he shouldn’t contact the Scarlet Research Institute or investigate sensitive matters like the Mysterious Organization.

As for the risk of assassination that came with being a genius, that was a risk he had to accept.

This was necessary to advance human cultivation studies and pave the way for future scientific development.

If his present self remained inactive, no matter how hard his future self worked, they couldn’t resolve the current crises facing humanity.

By spreading cultivation techniques and related knowledge in the real world, he was driving the overall progress of Human Civilization.

Meanwhile, his future self was searching for the malignant tumors hidden within Human Civilization and devising ways to eradicate them.

Though their approaches differed, both were crucial.

If his present self was the decision-maker standing at a crossroads, his future self was the pathfinder, exploring the paths ahead one by one.

Without the present, there would be no choices to make.

Without the future, there would be no opportunities for trial and error.

Only by combining both could he find a true path forward for the future of Human Civilization.

After a moment of contemplation, he picked up his pen and began writing his plans for the future in his notebook.

He had two potential strategies for the future:

The first was to have his future self lie low and survive long enough to witness Mu Qing’s betrayal and Lin Ran’s creation of the cultivation technique. Then, he would intervene to prevent these events, inevitably causing a cataclysmic shift in the future. This approach would also allow him to uncover the truth behind Mu Qing’s betrayal.

However, this plan carried significant risks.

The primary concern was whether his future self could truly survive until that critical moment.

From his first entry into the Dream Realm, his lifespan had been like that of a condemned man with a noose around his neck, half a foot off the ground, constantly threatened by unforeseen circumstances leading to his bizarre demise.

After careful consideration, he abandoned the strategy of lying low.

Ultimately, he chose the second option: to have his future self take risks to gather more intelligence and information.

This approach had already yielded valuable insights.

From the initial mystery surrounding Mu Qing’s betrayal to the discovery that the Scarlet Research Institute might be a malignant tumor rooted within Human Civilization, the existence of a shadowy Mysterious Organization, and even the presence of hidden undercover students—all these crucial pieces of information had been obtained through his future self’s daring actions.

While writing, five new messages for the future appeared in the notebook:

Continue building the organization, but always remain vigilant. When necessary, provide each student with different intelligence to help me identify the werewolf infiltrator. If death is inevitable, choose someone you trust to inherit your email account and tell them your secrets. Let them continue leaving messages. Please, just have a child! Without offspring, how will I get an authorized account? Every time I ask you to have a child, you refuse. Is it really so difficult to leave behind a descendant? Even if you do nothing else, just give me an heir! The authorized account is too important! Regarding Mu Qing, continue trying to influence her. Regardless of her true motives, you must dissuade her from taking that final step. Study diligently and strive for improvement every day. Losing your external cheat will inevitably cause a sharp sense of loss. While you may never match historical geniuses like Lin Ran and Mu Qing, you must still believe in yourself.

By the time he finished writing, it was already noon.

Closing the notebook, he left the dormitory and headed straight for the Academy Cafeteria.

He always looked forward to mealtime with great anticipation.

This world had many wonderful things, and food was one of them.

Especially when it was free.

After finishing lunch with Lin Ran and Mu Qing, Feng Qi returned to his dormitory.

After a brief rest, he got up and headed straight to Cultivation Class One to prepare for his lecture.

When he arrived, the classroom was already packed with students.

Even the aisles were crowded with students from other classes.

Having learned about Feng Qi’s lecture in Cultivation Class One through the updated course schedule, a large number of students who had heard the news in advance had come to observe and listen.

Those who had attended Feng Qi’s classes genuinely admired his knowledge.

From the initial sensation caused by his Fierce Tiger Fist on the Star City Academy forum to his subsequent explanations of cultivation techniques, Feng Qi consistently introduced students to novel concepts in cultivation arts, deepening their understanding of cultivation techniques.

As a result, his classes had become the most popular among students at Star City Academy.

The topics he covered in each lecture invariably became the hottest discussion points of the day.

Stepping up to the lectern, Feng Qi smiled at the students below and began, ”Good morning, everyone. Let’s get started with today’s lesson. We’ll be covering the theoretical foundations of cultivation technique research.”

With that, he activated the console on the lectern and typed in ”Fundamentals of Cultivation Technique Research.” Instantly, the corresponding subtitles appeared on the blackboard.

Before officially starting the lesson, his gaze swept across the room, and he suddenly noticed a familiar figure sitting in the corner.

It was Lin Ran.

A Fundamentals of Cultivation Technique Research class? Seriously? Does he even know his place?

Thinking this, Feng Qi immediately announced, ”Before we begin, could the third student from the corner of the last row—yes, you, the one hunched over—please leave the room?”

Hearing this, Lin Ran, who had been shrinking into his seat, wore a crestfallen expression.

Under Feng Qi’s unwavering gaze, he reluctantly rose and shuffled out, his eyes filled with lingering reluctance.
