Hijacking the Timeline

After lunch, Feng Qi returned to his dormitory.

During the first month of new student orientation, special training was required, so no regular classes were scheduled for him. He also didn’t need to meet the other freshmen in Combat Class Three beforehand.

Now seated at his desk, he began reviewing the roster of Combat Class Three.

The class had eleven students in total.

He had already met the monk, Huixu. Perhaps due to prolonged suppression, the monk’s personality struck Feng Qi as somewhat unreliable. Despite being called an ascetic monk, Huixu showed none of the steadfastness or willingness to endure hardship typically associated with such a figure.

The roster’s description section revealed that the monk’s real name was Huixu, and he hailed from Jinxian Temple, the largest Buddhist institution in Star City. He was the current abbot’s only direct disciple.

Such a pedigree was undeniably impressive.

Jinxian Temple was most renowned not for its temple itself, but for the Prajna Domain Combat Team it had established.

In this era, cultivation techniques were shared globally, and the future system of restricted access hadn’t yet emerged. Consequently, many formidable domain combat teams thrived in the civilian sector, and the Prajna Domain Combat Team was among the most prominent.

Throughout the long years of resisting Domain Invasions, this combat team had made numerous outstanding contributions and earned an S-Class Combat Team rating, placing it among the world’s elite domain combat teams.

As he continued reviewing the new student roster, one name caught his attention: Liu Yue. Yet, the detailed information section for this student was completely blank.

Among the eleven freshmen in Combat Class Three, Liu Yue’s background was the most mysterious, with no recorded information whatsoever.

Even Mu Qing’s origins at Star City Academy weren’t entirely confidential. Her general information could be found on the academy’s forum.

This ”Liu Yue” student sparked his intense curiosity.

After reviewing all eleven freshmen’s profiles, he closed the roster.

Apart from Liu Yue, the other Special Enrollment Students all came from influential backgrounds: children of high-ranking officers in the Star City Garrison, heirs of business tycoons, offspring of top domain combat team commanders, and children of prominent technology research institute directors. In short, it was a class of well-connected individuals.

Having examined the new students’ profiles, he suddenly felt a surge of anticipation.

If their character and talent proved satisfactory, he believed he could recruit this entire cohort into the organization fighting against the Scarlet Research Institute.

After all, these freshmen had powerful backers. While they couldn’t directly confront the mysterious Scarlet Research Institute, they could provide significant support for the organization’s growth.

But these were merely his initial ideas.

Before confirming the reliability of these new recruits, he wouldn’t reveal any information. Otherwise, the organization opposing the Scarlet Research Institute might be undermined from within before it even formed.

Closing the list of new recruits, he sat at his desk, retrieved his tablet, and began browsing shopping websites.

He then purchased another Dusk Wolf Rune Crystal.

Watching his bank balance shrink again, he couldn’t deny the pang of regret.

That’s why he needed to meticulously plan each entry into the Dream Realm, maximizing his gains in the future dream.

After placing the order, he opened his notebook and began outlining his future plans.

As he pondered, he constantly added his thoughts and messages for his future self to the notebook.

His future self held the key to understanding the future.

Without his future self, he would never have learned about the Scarlet Research Institute’s infiltration by domain creatures during his previous Dream Realm entry.

He might still be futilely copying future cultivation techniques, unaware of the internal corruption, ultimately failing to avert the inevitable end of Human Civilization.

The series of secret experiments currently underway within the Scarlet Research Institute were like poison corroding the very foundations of civilization.

If these toxins aren’t eradicated, even if humanity grows into a towering tree, it will eventually collapse.

Communicating with the future also grants him access to crucial information unavailable in historical databases.

Lost in thought, Feng Qi jotted down four new strategies in his notebook:

Form an organization capable of countering it. Lin Ran, Mu Qing, Old Wang, and your future students will all contribute to this force. But until you possess sufficient power to challenge it, never reveal yourself. Continue investigating it, but avoid unnecessary risks. You might seek assistance from Mo Fei, who will later work at the technology research institute and could provide support in covert reconnaissance. I hope you live as long as possible, ideally until the Great Demon King forms the Dawn Rebels. Do everything you can to stop her and uncover what truly happened. Oh, and if you live long enough, you’ll definitely be able to prevent Lin Ran from publishing his cultivation technique. Perhaps, with your guidance, he’ll create an art magic school even superior to the Handseal Flow. So please, live on with unwavering resolve. If possible, please leave behind descendants and pass down our ancestral teachings. Do everything you can to help me obtain access to the database account. This is of utmost importance to me.

After writing these four points for his future self, he fell into a long silence.

He knew that after his departure, his future self would suffer greatly. The arrogance he had cultivated would be a debt his future self would have to repay.

Having lost the ability to enter the Dream Realm, he had also lost the opportunity to continue copying future cultivation techniques. The path ahead for his future self would be fraught with hardship.

With a sigh, he added a final paragraph to the end of his four points:

Never doubt yourself. You were the most outstanding graduate of Star City High School. Even without external advantages, you can achieve great things through your own efforts. Since there are no shortcuts, then forge your own path through thorns and brambles.

Closing the notebook, he sat at his desk, lost in thought.

Though he called it a dialogue with his future self, the words he had written were merely an extension of his own thoughts.

In other words, even if he didn’t record this information, his future self would still follow this path, because their thoughts were aligned.

The value of recording these details lay in ensuring he wouldn’t forget them.

After entering the Dream Realm, his mind on this timeline would inevitably be flooded with new ideas, potentially altering or erasing his original intentions.

Therefore, writing down crucial information in the notebook served primarily as a reminder to his current self on this timeline: Don’t forget.

Lost in thought, time slipped by unnoticed.

It wasn’t until Lin Ran called that he realized four hours had passed, and it was already lunchtime.

Closing the notebook, he stood up, stretched, and prepared to head to the Academy Cafeteria for a meal.

Although the energy he gained from food was minimal, even a small amount was still sustenance. More importantly, eating was a genuine pleasure for him.

Regardless of circumstances, he couldn’t forget to eat.
