Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 244: Chapter 241: The Heart of Coordination

Imagining is indeed simpler than actually executing.

Baimu and Mawile made an initial attempt to expand the range of Fairy Wind, and that went quite smoothly.

But adding the reduction in destructive power to enhance stability made it difficult, the latter ensured the range was large enough, with energy output reaching the current limit, but the destructive power and stability hadn’t dropped to the standard he set.

For example, Altaria’s Meteor Shower, mixed within white mist, looks just like fireworks, and touching it only gives a tolerable burning sensation, without suddenly exploding into a choking pile of white smoke.

In comparison, Mawile’s Fairy Wind is strong enough to blow people off balance, even directly blow them away.

Actually, just observing the shape and color of the move makes it quite intuitive.

Fairy Wind creates deep pink tuft-like energy while stirring up a whirlwind, which is the key to causing damage to the enemy.

Currently, Baimu is thinking of dispersing these tuft-like energies, transforming them into pink light points to enhance the move’s stability and facilitate the transition to the next move — this decision isn’t just a whimsical thought, it’s made after witnessing real examples.

For this, Mawile watches the move demonstration video repeatedly, practicing again and again.

After all, this is just the initial move.

After Fairy Wind, it needs to connect with Electromagnetic Levitation to lift itself and the spin-release Flame Fang, ensuring the three skills flow smoothly without interruption poses the second challenge.

In battles, the focus is on exerting all power in a single strike, ensuring every punch, kick, and bite reaches the peak of energy output.

But the Gorgeous Competition is different.

The Gorgeous Competition often limits energy output for the sake of the move’s viewing effect, sacrificing power to ensure timely transition to the next move, making it visually pleasing.

Coordinator Trainers exerting full output aren’t nonexistent, but those belong to more advanced techniques. Because the move’s power affects continuity and stability, a slight mistake can easily cause a conflicting energy explosion.

Explosion isn’t a big deal; the key lies in the smoke produced during move explosion.

Most Coordinator Trainers wish to avoid this; not that the rules prohibit it, but the smoke easily affects the judges’ view of the performance, if well-utilized, it can create a sense of mystery, if poorly-utilized, it merely makes referees miss the highlight of your performance.

Among them, the top Coordinator Trainer in the Sinnoh Region — Xiaowang, Xiaoguang’s former fierce rival, is an expert at creating a sense of mystery using smoke.

”Being a Coordinator Trainer is really not easy.”

Baimu couldn’t help but sigh, deeply understanding the meaning of the word ”coordination.”

It’s not just coordination between Pokémon and Trainer, but also among various move attributes, even coordination among multiple Pokémon’s cooperation.

”Let’s continue practicing, the theme is already established, the rest is to strive to realize it.”

He turned and said.

”Puchi!”

Mawile nodded firmly.

Although there hadn’t been a breakthrough in Fairy Wind for now, the entire theme doesn’t rely solely on it for execution.

”During ball release, landing, and dancing, release Fairy Wind to increase Bling Bling’s light powder effect, then leap up using Electromagnetic Levitation, release Flame Fang into a High-speed Spin forming a Flame Spin Dance, ending with an explosive burst into light particles.”

Holding a drawing board, Baimu utilized the drawing skills he acquired from Smeargle to analyze step by step what Mawile should do for it to see.

Mawile found it hard to understand the Trainer’s idea just through language, but as soon as it saw the diagram, it understood everything.

”Chido?”

”It does seem complex, but in practice, the continuity usage only takes one or two minutes at most... You could try the integration of Electromagnetic Levitation and Flame Fang first.”

He sketched a red and yellow flaming tornado in the booklet, ”The challenge might lie in the coverage of Flame Fang, it might require you to maintain a certain high-speed rotation, this way it can envelop your entire body.”

”Chido...”

Mawile nodded lightly, standing a bit further away, relying on Electromagnetic Levitation to lift off the ground.

”Begin, release Flame Fang first.” Baimu said softly.

Whirr!

A flame almost the same size as its body emerged in the instant the large jaws slightly opened, among the white sharp teeth.

Baimu said, ”Very good, start spinning.”

”Chido!”

Mawile twisted its body, starting to spin clockwise.

It’s undeniable that it indeed has a knack for manipulating Electromagnetic Levitation, during spins, its body seems barely to exert force, spinning faster and faster.

Whoosh—

A gust of wind was whipped up by Mawile’s rotation, mixed with tiny currents and flames, lifting dust off the ground, causing its body to gradually be engulfed in red and yellow light.

”Not fast enough!” Baimu shouted, Mawile instantly spun even quicker!

When the sound of wind became rapid, the flames indeed expanded with the motion.

Not only that.

The fine currents of Electromagnetic Levitation seemed to join in too, as though forming an electrifying flame mixed storm.

But just when he revealed a joyful smile, the surging flames suddenly vanished, like being extinguished by the wind.

Mawile slowly halted its action and covered its mouth, looking a bit unpleasant.

”Chi, chido...”

”Are you alright?” Baimu hurried over to check Mawile’s condition.

Fortunately, it was merely a bit dizzy and wasn’t badly hurt.

”Seems like too fast a rotation also doesn’t work.”

He fed Mawile some refreshing candy to ease the dizziness, ”Take a rest, take a rest.”

The reasons for flame extinguishment first were Mawile’s dizziness due to too fast a spin making sustained output of attribute energy difficult. Secondly was the excess wind affecting the temperature necessary for fire to burn.

Theoretically, wind can aid combustion, it’s the same in the Pokémon World, therefore regulating the spin speed to prevent flames from extinguishing yet aiding combustion is crucial.

At the same time, the order of releasing moves might be adjustable.

Once Mawile rested, Baimu was eager to begin the second attempt and shared this decision with Mawile.

Thus,

The second trial began.

”Spin!”

Baimu issued the command.

Mawile floated in the air starting to spin, slowly increasing the speed.

When it was about right, he urgently shouted, ”Flame Fang!”

Immediately, a spot of flame emerged from the spinning top-like Mawile’s body, then the flame transformed into a bright orange-red fire line, forming a circle like fluorescence.

”Increase firepower! Increase firepower!”

He continued to give commands.

Spinning Mawile instantly amplified the flame output on its huge sharp teeth, causing lightning and flame to spread outwardly from the light circle, resembling a protective layer.

Then,

Whoom!

The flame storm ignited!

Currents mixed within gave a crisp explosion!

”Are you dizzy?”

”Chido!”

”Very good, then maintain this speed! Keep stable!”

Baimu constantly monitored the situation, silently counting in his heart.

One, two, three...

Ten!

”Good! Stop!” he shouted.

Mawile’s body suddenly halted, flames and lightning spread like a curtain to the side, then as if scattered butterflies and orange-red petals slowly dissipated, revealing its bright and cute face, ”Chido!”

”—Success! Twice success!”

Baimu laughed heartily rushing over to embrace Mawile, indifferent to its scorching hot body.

Mawile was stunned, then revealed a joyful smile, gently rubbing against the Trainer’s neck, after full two seconds did it cry out and break free from his hold.

”Chido!”

Ladies shouldn’t be picked up! Too indecent!
