RE: LORD OF TIME

”This monster is similar to the one I had seen inside...” William looked at the severed body of a monster that was three meters long and had a body shape similar to a lizard.

Its entire body was black in color, completely blending with the surrounding darkness, and its goat-like head had two small horns coming out from the top of it.

William glanced at his status window and narrowed his eyes.

(You have killed a Lesser Night Crawler and earned 1 Merit Point)

”So this monster is really a Night Crawler,” He muttered under his breath and noticed that a section showing Merit Points had appeared on his status window.

”What do I use this Merit Point for?” He scratched the back of his head and tried to focus on the Merit Point section to see if he could get more information about it.

But unfortunately, his status window did not show anything.

Shaking his head, he was about to focus on moving away the last boulder when suddenly, his expression changed, and he immediately stepped aside.

Bang!

The instant he stepped aside, the ground beneath his feet sank, and a sharp claw gleaming with chilling light emerged.

William looked down with narrowed eyes and saw a Night Crawler similar to the one he had killed just now emerging from the ground.

Bang! Bang! Bang! ——

The ground around him continued to sink, and more and more Night Crawlers emerged around him. In just a few seconds, he was surrounded by more than thirty of them.

”It’s an entire group of them.” William looked at the monsters as green saliva dripped from their mouths.

As the saliva came into contact with the ground, smoke rose, and the hard ground was corroded as if it were made of paper.

Soon, his gaze fixed on one of the Night Crawlers at the back, and his grip over Blood Moon tightened.

Unlike the other Night Crawlers, this one was a bit different. It was about nine meters long and nearly four meters tall. Moreover, a faint brown light glowed around its body, making its body sink slightly into the ground.

’So these monsters are able to move underground because this one has the ability to control the earth...’ William immediately realized how these monsters had emerged from under the ground.

Suddenly, the monster at the back let out a low growl from its mouth, and all the Night Crawlers surrounding William rushed toward him.

A four meter long crawler was the fastest and reached him first, jumping at him to bite off his head.

’I need to end this quickly to save as much Aether Energy as possible...’

The Blood Moon in William’s hand gleamed with a chilling light, and he took a step forward. ℯℯ𝑙.

Crackle!

Arcs of Blood Lightning suddenly crackled around William, and the Night Crawler that had jumped to bite off his head only saw a cold red light brush past its head as William’s figure disappeared.

Crackle!

Amid the pitch-black darkness, a streak of blood red lightning brushed past the group of Night Crawlers, and a second later, William’s figure appeared right outside the encirclement of the monsters.

Growl?

The giant Night Crawler at the back let out a confused voice when William’s figure suddenly appeared right outside the encirclement.

But the confusion did not last long, and it once again growled at the Crawlers, ordering them to go after William.

But what confused the Crawler was that no monster listened to its command, and their bodies remained frozen in the same place.

Just as it was feeling angry, its deep yellow eyes widened in horror as a thin red line appeared around the neck of every single Night Crawler.

The next second—

Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! ——

The low sound of heads falling to the ground one after another echoed, followed by fountains of black blood.

Bang! Bang! Bang! ——

The headless bodies of the Night Crawlers fell to the ground one after another, the look on their severed heads still showing confusion as they did not understand how they had died.

The leader of the Crawlers was horrified when it saw this, and the brown glow around it intensified as its body rapidly sank into the ground.

It was planning to run away.

Crackle!

”Where are you going?”

But before its body could disappear inside the ground, a cold voice came from beside it, and the next second, one of its legs was grabbed by a small hand.

”Get out here!” William shouted, and immense force erupted from his small body, forcefully pulling the giant body of the Crawler out of the ground and lifting it into the air.

The Crawler let out a sound full of fear, and its limbs thrashed wildly in the air.

BOOOOOOM!

William slammed the body of the Crawler onto the ground, making it cough out mouthfuls of black blood.

Before the monster could recover—

Bang!

A heavy punch landed on its head, making its head spin.

Bang! Bang!

William delivered two more punches to the head of the monster, and it’s eyes rolled inside its head as it lost consciousness.

Taking a deep breath, William looked at the headless bodies around him, and his lips arched upward.

’Blood Lightning, combined with the passive effect of the Child Of Blood skill from Blood Moon... It’s really not something these small fries could take.’

After seeing Liam use the movement battle art of Blood Lightning in the Battle Class, William had also learned all the battle arts related to Blood Lightning from him during the next few days.

The movement battle art that he just used was the same one that Liam had used in the Battle Class.

However, because of his higher cultivation level and the passive ability of Blood Moon, Child Of Blood, which enhanced the power of all of his blood-related abilities by 50%, the power he could display was far higher than what Liam could show.

’Good thing I was sent to this place after my breakthrough to Star Commander. If I were to be sent here when I was still at Star Warrior, it would have been dangerous even for me.’ He thought and casually glanced at his status window, seeing that he had received more Merit Points for killing these Night Crawlers.

Just as he was about to shift his attention back to the leader of the Crawlers, whom he had not killed yet, his eyes caught something glowing amid the dead bodies of the Crawlers.

William raised an eyebrow and walked forward, coming before one of the dead Crawlers.

He bent down slightly and saw that the glowing object was actually a palm-sized orb, with a milky-white substance swirling inside it.

”What is this thing?” William didn’t rashly touch the orb with his hand.

Instead, he first poked it with his sword, and only after confirming that it wasn’t anything dangerous did he pick it up.

The glowing orb felt warm in his hand, and he didn’t know why, but just holding the orb made his mind somewhat clear.

Feeling curious, William focused on the orb, and its information appeared before him.

---) Spirit Orb: A rare energy that sometimes drops upon killing Crawlers. Absorbing the Spirit Orb can directly enhance the user’s soul power.

William’s pupils contracted when he read the details of the orb, and a look of disbelief appeared on his face.

”Directly enhance soul power...” He muttered under his breath, his eyes filled with excitement.

Soul power was something that an Evolver could only enhance after reaching Star King Level.

Before becoming a Star King and condensing their soul, it was very difficult to increase one’s soul power.

But the information of the orb stated that it could directly increase his soul power.

Taking a deep breath to calm down, William suppressed the urge to use it immediately and spoke to Eva.

”Eva, can you check out this thing? I feel like directly enhancing soul power is just too good to be true. See if there is some kind of hidden side effect of this thing.”

”Alright,” Eva responded to his words, and the Spirit Orb disappeared from his hand, taken away by Eva.

William looked at the dead bodies around him, and his eyes narrowed.

’If there is really no side effect, I will try to hunt down as many Crawlers as possible to gather more of these orbs...’ He thought and walked to the boulder of the last closed hut.

He put his hands against the giant boulder and pushed it away, revealing the hut’s entrance.

William stared at the hut and took a step forward, walking inside the last closed hut.

As soon as he stepped inside, William immediately noticed something different about this hut.

”That is...” He narrowed his eyes, and a surprised look appeared on his face.

Right at this moment, his status window flickered slightly, and the next instant, the notification about his trial finally updated, and new information appeared there.
