RE: LORD OF TIME

(You are being sent to Taboo Realm...)

As he read the notification, William’s vision was plunged into absolute darkness, and he felt as if he was thrown inside a rapidly spinning vortex.

”Fuck.” He couldn’t help but curse as he tried to regain control of his body but failed miserably.

His hands thrashed in the darkness, trying to grab something to stop himself from spinning, but there was nothing that he could hold.

In just a few seconds, despite having extremely high mental power and a strong physical body, William felt his consciousness turning blurry, and a wave of weakness engulfed him.

At the same time, green hair slowly began to grow on him, and his body showed signs of deformation.

”William! William!” Eva’s loud shouts reached William’s ears as she tried to wake him up.

But despite her loud voice reaching his ears, William couldn’t muster any strength to focus on it, and his consciousness continued to fade.

Just as he was about to completely lose consciousness, a burning pain suddenly came from his hand, and the symbol at the back of William’s palm once again lit up.

As the symbol lit up, the green hair that had begun to grow on his body immediately disappeared, and even the condition of his body returned to normal.

The green hair grew and disappeared so suddenly that even Eva, who was trying to wake William, didn’t notice its existence.

The burning pain on his palm grew stronger and stronger, and suddenly, William felt a jolt and his mind cleared a bit.

At the same time, as the symbol’s light grew brighter, William, who had just regained focus saw the notification flashing before his eyes tremble violently.

It was as if a strange power was acting against it, and the notification began to change.

The words Taboo Realm on his status window blurred, and slowly, they changed into Trial Realm under the influence of that strange power.

Just as the word Taboo Realm on his status window changed into Trial Realm, a bright light lit up amid the darkness around William, and he was forced to close his eyes.

Woosh!

A violent force erupted from his surroundings, and he was thrown out from the rapidly spinning darkness.

Bang!

William, who was forced to close his eyes because of the bright light felt his body crash against something and hissed in pain, his internal organs churning because of suddenly being thrown out of the rapidly spinning vortex.

Despite feeling sharp pain throughout his body, William quickly opened his eyes and jumped to his feet, looking at his surroundings warily.

And as he looked around, his eyes could not help but widen slightly.

”What kind of place is this?” He muttered in a low voice, looking at the desolate land around him.

Everything around him screamed of desolation. The rocky, brown colored ground was filled with cracks, as if it hadn’t drunk water for hundreds of years.

There were rocks covered in dust, eroded by harsh winds. Withered trees could be seen everywhere, and the sky was light brown in color, as if the atmosphere was filled with grains of sand.

What stunned William even more was that he couldn’t sense a shred of Aether Energy in his surroundings.

William had visited many Realms in the original timeline, and some of them had very low concentrations of Aether Energy.

But regardless of what kind of Realm he had visited, one thing that he found in common among them was that every Realm possessed Aether Energy.

Even if it was very low, Aether Energy was present everywhere.

But here, William couldn’t sense the presence of Aether Energy at all.

”Just what kind of place was I thrown into? More importantly, why the hell was I sent here?”

As he spoke, William once again looked at the notifications he had received earlier.

(Your existence has triggered a Taboo)

(The Rules of the World are acting upon you)

(You are being sent to Trial Realm...)

”My existence triggered a Taboo?” A deep frown appeared on William’s face as he couldn’t understand what it meant.

His mind raced, and he thought about himself suddenly returning to the past.

’Could it be because I came back in time and not from this timeline that the Rules of the World acted against me?’

William pondered for a few seconds but felt it was unlikely.

Not to mention anything else, he had been in this timeline for quite some time already and had done many things.

If the Rules of the World had to act against him because of this, they should have done so long ago.

Why wait until now?

Suddenly, he remembered what happened right after he came out of the Time Chamber and looked at the symbol at the back of his hand.

’Don’t tell me that Taboo thing is related to its reaction from earlier?’

As he thought of this, William felt it was highly possible.

He was still unclear about this symbol and only knew it was related to the supreme figure he had seen once.

And considering the strength that guy had shown him at that time, he felt it was quite possible for someone like him to be related to things like Taboos.

”Damn it, why is my life so miserable? Everything was going perfectly, but now I have been sent to this place that I don’t know anything about.”

William looked at the last notification, and after looking at the words Trial Realm, he took a deep breath.

He remembered that it was originally Taboo Realm, but it somehow changed into Trial Realm as the symbol on his hand glowed.

”I don’t know what kind of place this is, but it at least sounds better than Taboo Realm,” William muttered and was about to move around when suddenly, a few more notifications flashed before his eyes.
