Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 62: Chapter 61: Hellish Beginning

Everything before him was truly beyond Lin You’s expectations.

He hadn’t thought that before heading to the Primordial Continent, he would actually need to test his strength level and choose the duchy territory to go to.

And according to what that person just said.

The area they were in previously was subordinate to various duchies on the Primordial Continent, specifically used to cultivate and accept new lords, strengthening the duchy’s power.

Thinking about it carefully.

This Primordial Continent seemed much vaster than he had imagined, possibly even far exceeding his expectations.

Truly worthy of being the Primordial Continent that could accommodate the Ten Thousand Realms.

He wondered if the blockade of the area he was in before might have been orchestrated by one of those duchies.

Thinking of this, Lin You’s expression grew increasingly solemn.

This matter was something he definitely needed to investigate thoroughly.

But before investigating, it was essential to have enough strength; otherwise, everything would be just empty talk.

The only consolation was that in his region, it would take quite a long time for those people to all advance to Tier Six.

If they could be rescued in the future, it would be ideal.

After wandering around the Void Platform again, he didn’t see any sign of Yan Wu and the others.

Lin You speculated.

They might have finished testing and left the platform, or they might have been transported to another platform.

After all, it was impossible to have just one platform like this.

If possible, Lin You hoped they would be transported nearby so that his revenge plan would have more helpers.

“It seems I’ll have to get to the Primordial Continent first before anything else.”

While thinking, Lin You followed the crowd to the center of the platform.

He saw that above the ten portals in the center of the platform, the names of corresponding duchies were carved.

Names like Flame River Duchy, Feiluan Duchy, Moonlight Duchy… and so on.

And around the portals, many light pillars were set up, guarded by ten differently dressed duchy representatives.

When the lords stood on them, their territory species type and comprehensive evaluation would be displayed.

Each evaluation that appeared caused a stir among the surrounding crowd.

Lin You observed for a while in the crowd and found that most of these lords were evaluated as E-level, with the occasional D-level appearing.

Seeing these evaluations.

Those testers didn’t even bother to blink and quickly told the tested lords to select a country and pass through the portal.

“It’s said that there are nine evaluation levels in total, from the highest SSS to the lowest F-level.”

“So many levels? Then why are we all just E-level?”

“E-level is already not bad. At least you can still be assigned to a relatively normal place. I just saw a poor F-level, directly allocated to the most desolate land, that’s really tragic.”

“Huh? Is that really a thing?”

Clearly, these people nearby had been on the platform for quite some time and had gathered quite a bit of information.

Lin You listened from the side, extremely surprised.

To think that joining a duchy and being allocated land was actually based on comprehensive evaluation.

In other words, the higher the evaluation, the better the land and location assigned?

This was somewhat unexpected for him.

As he was pondering, a shout filled with excitement suddenly came from afar.

“Humanoid Type territory… Comprehensive evaluation C-level!”

C-level!

A lord with a C-level evaluation appeared!

The crowd, previously engaged in discussion, suddenly burst into an uproar.

Amid the light pillar, a young man with a proud expression slowly walked out and came to the center of the crowd.

The duchy representatives, who were previously indifferent, now eagerly positioned themselves before the young man.

“How about it, are you interested in joining our Moonlight Kingdom? We can offer you the most generous benefits.”

“Our Flame River Kingdom can offer the same terms, come to our Flame River Kingdom!”

“The king of our Celestial Bland Kingdom also has a Humanoid Type territory, joining our Celestial Bland Kingdom would definitely allow you better development!”

…

The duchy representatives all vied to invite the young man’s joining.

Apparently, a C-level evaluation was already considered a very good evaluation for a duchy, otherwise, they wouldn’t have been so enthusiastic.

Among the ten testers.

Only one hunchbacked elder continued to sit in the corner without extending an invitation, which was enough to confirm this suspicion.

And under the solicitations of the duchy representatives, the young man finally chose the Celestial Bland Kingdom, which predominantly had Humanoid Type territories.

This decision drew regret from the other duchy representatives, who returned to their original positions.

It seemed they could not decide which duchy the lords would join.

This was good news for Lin You.

Moreover, from the previous conversation, it seemed that the rulers of those duchies were also lords like them, with various species divided among them.

He wondered what level those kings had reached.

If he reached that level in the future, could he also establish a duchy?

This was worth considering…

Lin You couldn’t help but stroke his chin, growing more expectant.

And just as he was mulling over these thoughts.

The representatives who had returned to their places also started chatting.

“Sigh, the quality of the lord seedlings this time doesn’t seem great. It’s taken so long just to get one C-level.”

“Isn’t it? This time, the head office’s task was to recruit ten C-levels, which is impossible just to think about.”

“Don’t even mention C-level, D-levels are scarce enough.”

“Nothing can be done, for the small areas under us, having something to choose from is already good enough. How can we compare to the large areas controlled by empires and kingdoms where A-levels pop up effortlessly.”

“If I had known, I wouldn’t have taken this tough job.”

“Sigh…”

With that said, they all sighed helplessly and continued with the testing of the lords.

After a while.

It was finally Lin You’s turn for testing.

He nervously approached the light pillar and glanced at the tester.

“Step up.”

The other seemed to be in a bad mood, reverting to their previous cold demeanor, not even sparing Lin You a glance.

Lin You had no choice but to slowly enter the light pillar.

As soon as he stood still, a warm current surged through his body, cleansing his spirit.

Simultaneously, a string of data appeared on the light pillar he was in.

“Plant Type territory, comprehensive evaluation F-level.”

“…F-level?”

The tester was stunned.

Lin You, standing in the light pillar, was also stunned.

He never expected that his comprehensive evaluation would be the lowest F-level!

Could it be… because of his low number of species?

Before he could think further, a burst of laughter erupted nearby.

“Haha, look everyone, there’s another F-level here.”

“There’s actually someone who received the lowest evaluation, how did he even reach Tier Six?”

“F-level, that’s too pathetic. How weak must one be to get this evaluation?”

“I guess no duchy would want him?”

Listening to the nearby ridicule, the tester’s face gradually darkened.

F-level, there was no worse evaluation.

Not only the tester beside Lin You but even the representatives from other duchies also bore looks of disdain, fearing that Lin You might choose their duchy.

At this point, Lin You felt utterly hopeless.

He was almost certain that the evaluation was definitely related to the number of species and resources.

After all, he had just traversed the Gray Mist Zone, losing more than half of his species, and his resources were depleted.

With only four Tier Six species and a few Tier Five in his territory, how could he possibly compete with other lords possessing dozens or even scores of Tier Six species?

What a blunder…

Lin You furrowed his brow deeply.

Seeing the despondent look on those duchy representatives, he knew.

If he truly joined their duchy, he certainly wouldn’t face any favorable treatment and might even receive the worst conditions.

This was practically a hellish start!

But if he didn’t choose to join a duchy, he couldn’t go to the Primordial Continent, placing him in an exceedingly awkward position, unsure of what to do.

“If you’re not too particular, you can come to our Great Wilderness Kingdom.”

At this moment, an elderly voice suddenly sounded from beside him.
