Apocalypse: I Built a City of Sin

Before long, the sounds of an intense “fight” between the male and female performers drifted from the room.

Si Ruoqing stared helplessly at the room Xiao Yi had entered. Once again, the man had completely overturned her worldview.

She was an outstanding police officer, yet now she had to work for a bastard like him...

Worse, she was actually happy about it.

What shocked her most was the jealousy twisting inside her. A part of her wished she had been the one to go in with him.

Si Ruoqing suddenly felt as if her mind were getting dirtier by the day.

“Is this what they mean by bad company corrupting good character?” she muttered. “That bastard is rotten to the core!”

“Big Sister Ruoqing, what did Daddy go in there to do?” Keke blinked innocently. “Those sounds are so strange. Are they fighting? That person sounds like she’s in a lot of pain.”

“But... she also sounds excited...”

“I guess everyone likes fighting as much as I do. Fighting really is exciting!”

Si Ruoqing looked at Keke anxiously. With such a naive mind, Keke would probably pick up every bad joke she heard without understanding any of it.

She sighed. “Keke, their kind of fighting isn’t the same as yours. It’s an adult thing. You don’t need to worry about it.”

Keke hurriedly waved her hands. “I’d never fight Daddy! I love Daddy most. I’ll do anything Daddy asks me to do. Even if Daddy killed me, I wouldn’t fight back!”

Si Ruoqing was left speechless.

She glanced at Keke’s increasingly mature appearance and felt even more worried.

The girl possessed the body and power of an adult mutant, yet her mind remained as innocent as that of a five- or six-year-old child.

If Xiao Yi ever tried to exploit that innocence, Si Ruoqing knew she would have to stop him.

“You really don’t understand anything, do you, little vampire queen?” she murmured.

She resolved to keep Keke far away from Xiao Yi’s adult movies and filthy jokes.

By the time Xiao Yi emerged from the room, thoroughly satisfied after “watching the action movie,” the others had almost finished unloading everything.

He moved the Slaughterer Armored Vehicle away from the entrance and butchered the zombies clustered outside. Then he drove the truck into the courtyard.

As soon as the entrance opened up, another horde of zombies began converging on the villa.

Xiao Yi simply planted the Blade of Sin in the ground beside the gate.

Duan Chengzhi and the others stared in disbelief at the bizarre scene before them.

The villa gate stood wide open, yet the zombies formed a ring five meters away. No matter what happened, none dared take another step forward.

Occasionally, zombies at the back shoved a few across the invisible boundary. Those zombies immediately scrambled backward in terror.

So much time had passed since the apocalypse began, yet this was their first time seeing anything that could make zombies afraid.

Was that man a demon?

Duan Chengzhi trembled at the thought, his heart filling with awe toward Xiao Yi.

The other three women felt the same fear and reverence when they saw their companion limping out of the room.

He truly was a demon!

When Xiao Yi saw how much the group still had left to move after laboring for so long, he finally stepped in himself.

A job that required all four of them working together took him only one hand. He casually lifted the equipment onto the truck by himself.

That terrifying strength frightened Duan Chengzhi and the others all over again.

Suddenly, they understood perfectly why their companion had come out limping.

That man was terrifying.

After everything he needed had been loaded, Xiao Yi gave them another order. “Search the villa again. Bring anything else that might be useful. And make sure you don’t leave any of the good movies behind!”

He truly could not afford to leave them.

In Xiao Yi’s eyes, those movies might become one of the few forms of entertainment available to the women of the City of Sin.

This was the apocalypse. Being able to watch a movie was already a luxury.

“Also, everyone who can drive will take one vehicle back. I’ll clear the road in front. The rest of you follow me.”

After giving his instructions, Xiao Yi directed everyone into the vehicles.

Duan Chengzhi and the others were all experienced drivers.

The five of them took five separate vehicles: two modified off-road vehicles, a modified truck, a modified BMW X6, and the heavily modified RV Xiao Yi liked most.

With that RV, he effectively possessed a mobile castle.

Led by the Slaughterer Armored Vehicle, the convoy of six modified vehicles returned to the City of Sin in a mighty procession.

By then, most of the people inside the city had moved into the women’s dormitory in the Outer City.

The Inner City was empty once again.

Xiao Yi had the solar-power equipment removed from the villa unloaded, then summoned the three Unsullied youths.

Duan Chengzhi and the others became visibly excited upon seeing them.

The three youths, however, showed no reaction at all. They merely obeyed Xiao Yi’s orders with numb expressions.

“You three will assist them in installing the solar-power equipment and the water-purification and pumping systems in the castle. I want electricity and clean running water in the castle within three days!”

After ordering the three Unsullied, Xiao Yi turned to Duan Chengzhi.

“You’re in charge of this project. Whether the five of you get to live well depends on your performance.”

“We won’t need three days!” Duan Chengzhi declared confidently. “I can finish it in one!”

With that, he energetically led his students to roll up their sleeves and get to work.

Once everything there had been arranged, Xiao Yi drove the Slaughterer Armored Vehicle to the school’s smashed iron gate and blocked the opening. Then he swept through the surrounding area and cleared out the zombies.

After returning to the City of Sin, he leaped onto the wall.

“System, show me how many Apocalypse Coins I have.”

【Apocalypse Coins: 1,205】

All six Tombs were operating at once, and most of the corpses being buried were C-rank zombies. His Apocalypse Coins were accumulating extremely quickly.

“Expand the Outer City Wall!”

Xiao Yi decided to expand it again and construct more buildings.

【Please select the area to be enclosed.】

A map appeared before his eyes once more.

This time, Xiao Yi extended the boundary around a landscaped area and one of the classroom buildings.

It was a sizable expansion.

According to the System, it covered more than eight hundred square meters.

【Confirm.】

Xiao Yi confirmed without hesitation.

His Apocalypse Coins were pouring in. He could afford to be generous.

【Outer City construction area selected. Requirements met.】

【856 Apocalypse Coins consumed...】

【Construction in progress...】

As the synthetic voice sounded, a tremendous rumble rose outside the City of Sin.

The classroom building and the entire landscaped strip were enclosed within the Outer City Wall.

When it was done, Xiao Yi turned and looked at Lu Yurou in the Inner City.

Her Loyalty had already reached 92%.

Now that the classroom building was entirely under his control, it was time to take Lu Yurou there.

He pictured the delightful scene that could take place inside one of its offices.

He even intended to choose a few people from the city to accompany them and recreate the atmosphere of one of her classes.

That would make it feel much more authentic.

But first, he needed someone to clear the zombies out of the building.

If several zombies suddenly barged in at the wrong moment, they would completely ruin his fun.
