Apocalypse: I Built a City of Sin

Song Junshuang assumed Dong Haobiao was lying. Blinded by hatred, he ignored every word and continued attacking like a madman.

BANG!

Song Junshuang suddenly stopped. Blood streamed from his forehead before he collapsed onto Dong Haobiao.

Meng Xiuwen rushed forward and helped up his badly wounded leader.

“Big Brother, something is wrong! Lin Chengxun’s people are fighting us like lunatics. They have no reason to be this desperate!”

“That bastard Song Junshuang claimed I touched his woman. When did I ever touch any of their people?” Dong Haobiao was equally baffled.

Lin Chengxun and Ma Gang were confronting each other with the same confusion.

They had once worked in the same government system and knew each other well. Though they belonged to different factions, Lin Chengxun had always been Ma Gang’s superior.

“Old dog Lin! Stop playing tricks! Where did you take my son? Release him now, and I may spare your life!” Ma Gang fired twice and shouted.

“Fuck! I’ve never even seen your son! How could I release him? Dong Haobiao is using you as his weapon!”

The words made Lin Chengxun’s mind buzz. He suddenly sensed something was wrong and instantly calmed down.

He was normally an extremely cautious man. Only what happened to his precious daughter could have made him so impulsive.

Now that the initial rage had passed, he realized the matter was not simple.

“What? You didn’t capture my son? Then where is he?”

Ma Gang froze as well.

They had fought until more than half their people were dead, only to discover that events were not what they had believed.

“Why would I capture your son? Dong Haobiao raped my daughter last night! I had no time to deal with your son!” Lin Chengxun cursed. “Who told you I captured him? What evidence do you have? Dong Haobiao must have deceived you!”

“Fuck your mother, Lin Chengxun! My son was murdered last night! When would I have had time to rape your daughter?” Dong Haobiao shouted. “You killed my son, framed Ma Chenbin, and now accuse me of attacking your people?”

“Then why was your belt beneath my daughter’s bed? You animal! You still refuse to admit it?” Lin Chengxun threw the belt into the open ground.

“Fuck!” Dong Haobiao finally understood. “Someone plotted against us! The person who killed my son stole that belt and left Ma Chenbin’s ring in my son’s hand!”

The three leaders instantly quieted.

“Everyone stop! We’ve been tricked!” Meng Xiuwen stood and shouted at the blood-crazed combatants. “Stop fighting!”

“Stop! All of you fucking stop!” Lin Chengxun yelled as well.

Their men reluctantly halted, staring at the leaders in confusion. After so much killing, none of them cared about right or wrong anymore. They wanted only to kill the enemy.

“I understand now! We all fell into someone’s trap...” Lin Chengxun climbed atop a vehicle and raised his arm.

He had pieced everything together. Someone wanted the three factions to destroy one another, then profit from the aftermath.

BANG!

Before he could finish, a bullet pierced his head.

Everyone froze.

“Who fired?” Meng Xiuwen roared at his men. “Who ordered you to shoot?”

“Meng Xiuwen! You pretended to negotiate, then assassinated our commander! Shameless bastard! Die!”

Covered in blood and consumed by battle frenzy, Chong Guoyuan opened fire and riddled Meng Xiuwen with bullets.

The battle erupted again.

This time, no one could control it. Every person had lost himself to bloodlust.

From a nearby villa, Xiao Yi watched the fierce street fighting and occasionally used the Type 88 sniper rifle to shoot a key figure for entertainment.

Before long, only Dong Haobiao, Ma Gang, Chong Guoyuan, and several severely wounded followers remained alive on the battlefield.

“Heh... Hahahaha!”

Watching his followers die one after another, Dong Haobiao laughed wildly.

“Die, you fools! All of you can fucking die! Even if I die, I won’t leave such a wonderful shelter to you. Every one of you will be buried with me!”

He raised his radio.

“All our brothers are dead. Blow up the wall!”

“Dong Haobiao, have you gone insane?” Ma Gang shouted in horror.

Out of ammunition and covered in wounds, Chong Guoyuan desperately crawled toward him.

“Tell your men to stop! There are still women and children here. They’re innocent!”

BOOM!

The tremendous explosion shook everyone. Thick smoke rose from the eastern section of the perimeter wall.

“Too late! Heh... Hahahaha!” Dong Haobiao grinned and stabbed himself in the throat.

“It’s over! Everything is over!” Chong Guoyuan screamed in despair.

Ma Gang used his last strength to howl at the sky.

“Who was it? Come out! Which shameless bastard did this?”

“Me.”

Xiao Yi slowly emerged from behind a tree, smiling.

“I did all of it. Ma Gang, your son is in my hands too. Surprised?”

“Fucking hell...” Ma Gang closed his eyes, feeling that life had lost all meaning.

“Fuck!” Chong Guoyuan roared before collapsing.

“Ugh... Ugh...”

“Hrrr...”

A massive zombie horde surged in and swallowed every survivor on the battlefield.

With the Blade of Sin resting on his shoulder, Xiao Yi leisurely searched the area, storing every corpse, firearm, and weapon inside the Spatial Pouch.

When infecting the male celebrity earlier, he had discovered that humans bitten by C-rank zombies had a high probability of becoming C-rank zombies themselves. These corpses would be extremely useful.

Their equipment was valuable too. Song Junshuang and the others still wore full SWAT gear. Once stripped from the bodies, it would be enough to arm an entire women’s assault team.

No one in Lily New City could threaten Xiao Yi anymore.

Most combat-capable men had died in the internal conflict, and their weapons now belonged to him.

After Dong Haobiao blew open the wall, countless zombies also poured into the compound.

Lily New City was no longer a paradise-like shelter. It had become a dangerous hell.

Xiao Yi’s next task was to appear as a savior and take every remaining survivor back to the City of Sin.
