Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 825: Chapter 349: Letting Go and Being Myself

After Minister Clown took off his mask, the scarred face that was revealed made Gao Gong narrow his eyes.

Aramaki!

A young Aramaki, his hair not yet the Mediterranean style.

More like the Aramaki in ’memory’.

”You said Aramaki is the fortress’s avatar, then who are you?”

”I’m Aramaki’s avatar, to be precise, I’m the part of him that embodies humanity, the part that resists the fortress.”

”Then why do you rebel against the fortress?” Gao Gong asked.

”Do humans need a reason to pursue freedom?”

”Trying to achieve freedom under the calculations of the Planet Host is not a simple task, how did you manage it?”

”The Deep Net helped me,” seeing Gao Gong’s peculiar look, he added, ”It was the Deep Net in the form of the Planet Host, not in its Destruction Form state.”

”Oh.”

Seeing that Gao Gong had no particular expression, ’Aramaki’ dropped another bombshell:

”Don’t you want to know what the fortress dispatched me for, to infiltrate under the Deep Net’s command?”

”Undercover? Alright, keep going.”

”What he asked me to do is to promote the fusion of the Planet Host and the Destruction Form, once it reaches a certain level of fusion, he can justifiably suppress the other, becoming the sole Planet Host of this planet.”

”Doesn’t Cybertron still exist?” Gao Gong raised his eyebrows.

”Cybertron is the Mechanical Sovereign’s Mechanical General. Compared to the other two Planet Hosts, it is more responsible for armed garrison duties. Naturally, the biggest benefit from the Deep Net’s troubles will fall into the fortress’s hands.”

Gao Gong pondered for a moment, and then said:

”Let me figure this out, Aramaki is the fortress’s avatar, and you, currently looking at associating with the Deep Net; then why have you come?”

”I hope you can open a path and hand over ’Turing’ to me.”

”’Turing’ is the fortress’s lackey, right?” Gao Gong squinted his eyes, ”Do you want him for yourself? Is it the Deep Net’s intention? Or the fortress’s?”

”It’s my intention,” ’Aramaki’ calmly stated, ”to be precise, I hope to use it to reverse and destroy the fortress.”

”To destroy a Planet Host, do you know what that implies?” Gao Gong asked.

”I don’t intend to destroy it, to be precise, I hope to release the real fortress, the one untainted by ’Punk Clan’,” ’Aramaki’ suddenly showed a strange smile, ”It seems you still don’t believe me?”

”Of course I don’t believe you,” Gao Gong nearly pointed to his nose saying, do you take me for a fool?

”Then, let me introduce myself again, besides being the Minister of Humanity Experiment Department, I am also the Vice Captain of the Six Ministries’ United Squad. I believe Miss Yagami Suuji can vouch for this.”

Soon, a data human shadow pushed the door and entered. The clean and upright posture, along with the valiant and dynamic aura and the sexy tight combat suit, who else but Yagami Suuji.

Yagami Suuji looked towards Gao Gong with a complex expression.

”Minister, First Combat Squad Leader report.”

Apart from in this ’memory’, Gao Gong also heard the same voice in reality.

This indicates that the other party is not deceiving him.

”So, is this the member of your United Squad with no data?”

”Yes, Minister.”

”I thought it was not allowed to have ministers in the United Squad. Had I known earlier, I would have signed up too.”

”If the Minister wants to join, it’s not too late now.”

Gao Gong rubbed his chin.

He suddenly found it interesting; if he really agreed, wouldn’t the ’timeline’ revert to the previous life?

Twelve Cloud Nobility jointly opened the fortress’s gate, then, Turing descended and killed the Fortress Elder.

This ’Newbie Village’ timeline is really stubborn.

”What if I refuse?”

”Then the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division will cease its attack.”

”Ha, you’re threatening me,” Gao Gong calmly said, ”How do I remember that I’m the Minister.”

Yagami Suuji took a deep breath and said:

”Yes, you are indeed the Minister, but all I need to do is declare that you are the mastermind behind the Investigation Squad investigation. With the reputation I have accumulated within the department over the years, at least half of the squad leaders can be persuaded, not to rebel against you, but to maintain a neutral stance.”

”The ambition to challenge the hierarchy is promising.”

Gao Gong gave a thumbs up, not showing the anger Yagami Suuji had anticipated, but instead with a smiling face said:

”Then let’s think from another perspective, if I give up suppressing Turing, what benefits do I get?”

Yagami Suuji and ’Aramaki’ exchanged a glance, both showing a bit of astonishment in their expressions.

Completely unexpected, the other party raised such a question.

”What benefits are you looking for, Minister Gao?”

”Let me think, I’ve already obtained the coordinates of the fortress’s Planet Host. Now I need the coordinates of the other two Planet Hosts. I believe, for the Favored of the Deep Net, and the avatar of the fortress, it shouldn’t be difficult, right?”

”What do you want these coordinates for?” Yagami Suuji tightened her expression and asked.

”That’s not something you need to consider. Perhaps, like your mission to rescue the fortress, it’s to save the Deep Net.”

’Aramaki’ said, ”Okay.”

Yagami Suuji hesitated briefly, but after ’Aramaki’ whispered something, she reluctantly nodded and agreed.

After obtaining the two coordinates, Gao Gong looked at Yagami Suuji and suddenly said:

”Given the situation, you probably also know the process Aramaki used to create you back then.”

”Yes.”

”But you’re still like those ’dismantled’ Suzi, always thinking about saving humanity. Is the life on this planet worth risking your life for? Because of Aramaki?”

”Naturally, not because of him, but because of the vow I made when I joined the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division,” Yagami Suuji said calmly: ”The unyielding can traverse the world, granting rest to the righteous.”

Minister Clown and Yagami Suuji left, the memory images were confusing, and those ’clones’ reappeared, only to wither away one by one.

Gao Gong pondered briefly, muttering to himself.

”Aramaki, what exactly is your plan? I’m quite puzzled now.”

The only thing he was certain about is that under ’Divine Knowledge,’ this ’Aramaki’ is still the previous Aramaki, just that his current state is incredibly baffling.

Yagami Suuji was still part of his plan.

...

Gao Gong promised to forsake Turing, but that doesn’t mean letting him achieve Divine Throne Ascension. Already a Level 102 giant, any further ascension would make him uncontrollable.

He unleashed ’Folding Space,’ Black Port and seawater, seawater and energy, energy and space, space and radiation energy, endlessly folded together, like a repeatedly rotating colorful box.

Golden light covered the sea surface once again, washing over this folded space, and on the sea surface, that golden giant ship appeared once more. The advanced believers aboard burned like torches, turning into ashes one by one.

When all the believers’ power was exhausted, the overlapping space unfolded again, and the golden ship vanished, replaced by a hundred-meter-tall golden human form, its platinum eyes calmly gazing at Gao Gong from afar, an even older aura of destruction instantly suppressed the Purple String Space.

But soon, Gao Yuanyuan’s ’Rewind System,’ Gox’s ’Mutant Fusion,’ and ’Soul Armor,’ ’Destructive Intelligence,’ ’Spirit of Ecology,’ united the aura of destruction into one, resisting the opponent, even suppressing the adversary.

And under Fusion Mode Gao Gong’s aura was entirely comparable to this ’Deity,’ directly showing a provocative expression toward the foe.

If you dare to fight, come on, although now is not the most suitable time to suppress you, in a real fight, the unlucky one won’t be me.

Soon, Turing chose to retreat, his form slowly disappearing into the space.

Gao Gong looked up at the sky, no golden sun.

Great!

The global electronic sacrifices were destroyed, all advanced believers perished, making No. 3’s ascension impossible.

’Turing’s Eastern Expedition’ this Cyber Tide was half-suppressed by Gao Gong.

Globally, AI probably won’t be as miserable as in the previous era.

However, Turing is likely to participate in the Fortress destruction event.

This is the consequence of not completely suppressing it.

Suppress!

...

One day later, Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division Headquarters—

”I didn’t expect your calculations to be so accurate, it’s fortunate you suppressed it, otherwise, we’d have to launch nuclear missiles.”

In the holographic projection, Misty, the head of the Electronic Network Department, suspected to be Aramaki’s old flame, praised Gao Gong greatly, her tone full of flattery.

If Turing truly completed the ’Divine Throne Ascension,’ the first to suffer would be her, because her Electronic Network Department, with ninety percent of its employees being advanced AI, would see half of its members dead.

”All good, all good, I have several plans next that might need your department’s cooperation.”

”Of course, the Six Ministries are closely tied together and will certainly cooperate!”

After sending Misty off, Gao Gong, without lifting his head, said: ”Miss Ke, are there any meeting requests next?”

”Yes, the deputy minister of the Memory Supervision Department requests a meeting.”

”Deputy minister, does the Six Ministries actually have a position for deputy minister?”

”It’s not an official title, rather a successor.”

”Oh, a successor.”

Gao Gong remembered Guu Yitong saying in their final meeting that if he was dead, what he said would be true, but if he wasn’t dead, then who spoke to Gao Gong would be an awakened Memory Worm.

He hadn’t received Guu Yitong’s ’death notice.’

So, the answer becomes clear.

Gao Gong hesitated and said:

”Tell them I’m busy recently, not seeing anyone.”

”Yes,” Miss Ke replied.

”Let’s go, time for a meeting.”

When Gao Gong arrived at the meeting room, a group of people was already waiting, the Five Shells and Ten Departments, except for the front seat representing Yagami Suuji, were all fully seated, even Mechanical Mountain, this large creature, attended via holographic projection.

Without wasting words, Gao Gong snapped his fingers, and Miss Ke immediately distributed the virtual documents.

’Memory Loss Emergency Plan’

’Personality Stability Plan’

’Neurotheft Defense Measures’

’Conceptual Body Search Squad Recruitment’

’Pheromone Virus Countermeasures’

’S-Level Beast King Hunting Plan’

’Player Gathering Plan’

...

Without any evidence against him, Gao Gong let himself completely loose.
