Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 792: Chapter 316: Fate’s Joke

Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, on that towering building filled with pipelines, neon lights flickering, digital silhouettes coming and going, it remains a busy scene.

However, today was a bit different. At the entrance, the natural person receptionist, the sweeping robots, and the brain-machine transformers on massage chairs, enjoying brain cleansing, occasionally exchanged whispers, their expressions somewhat peculiar.

The reason was simple: today, their minister, who had been in office for three months and appeared no more than three times, came to work, and he brought a beautiful female secretary.

The old gatekeeper, who had served four ministers of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, remarked that of the four ministers, he was the only one with a female secretary.

Rare, extremely rare.

If it were before, the hotheads in the department would have blocked the minister’s office again, but now, they stated they couldn’t afford to provoke him.

Going out for a meeting, three ministers were taken down.

Such impressive records are unique not only in the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division but even among the Six Ministries.

More bizarrely, the higher-ups of the Six Ministries maintained complete silence; there was no outrage even though two ministers died and one was injured.

Bizarre, so damn bizarre!

This is also why today’s workplace atmosphere was quite subtle.

...

Meanwhile, in the minister’s conference room, Yagami Suuji was reporting to Gao Gong.

The tall minister of the First Combat Division, with a figure both sexy and heroic, exuded an aura like a sharp sword unsheathed, causing one to involuntarily tremble just by standing there.

For someone like Sister Ji, who wasn’t just into risqué stuff but also into same-sex attraction, this kind of aura was simply lethal for her.

’Wow, what a handsome beauty. Not only handsome, but her gaze is electrifying. I can’t take it. I have to write her into my lesbian novel, and I am the second lead.’

Then Sister Ji shifted her gaze to Gao Gong on the main seat.

This Mr. G, exuding a noble divine aura, had flawless features, especially his eyes, like black gems set in his face. Just a glance, and Sister Ji determined she needed to add a third male lead to her yet-to-be-written lesbian novel for a three-person journey.

Yagami Suuji reported with a calm face.

”By joint agreement of the ’Memory Supervision Department’, ’Humanity Experiment Department’, ’Electronic Network Department’, ’Machine Consciousness Department’, ’Prosthetic Registration Department’, and ’Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division’, a unified investigation team, code-named ’Null’, has been formed to jointly investigate the ’Three Ministers Incident’ and the mastermind behind it.”

Gao Gong nodded, flipping through the investigation team member information, starting with the person before him, ’Yagami Suuji’, a super bionic warrior, master of special operations, with over a thousand missions and failures counted on one hand.

And the other nine members were equally super elites from other departments, level 60 full-level, with at least two boss templates attached to them.

Any one of them was a monster.

With such a setup, insiders knew it was to combat the Memory Mother, while outsiders might think this super team was aiming to shut down the Planet Host.

Gao Gong nodded and quickly signed his name in the electronic signature section.

This meant that the cross-department super operation team, agreed upon by the minister and responsible only to the minister, was officially established.

The team held the highest confidentiality level and had the authority to mobilize all resources of the Six Ministries.

Seeing Gao Gong’s calm expression, Yagami Suuji frowned, speaking solemnly:

”Minister, I need your help on this matter!”

”I will fully cooperate with you,” Gao Gong said.

Yagami Suuji frowned even deeper, although the other party’s attitude was good, there was a subtle indifference deep in his eyes.

This was analyzed by the ’emotion analysis plugin’ in her brainware, as the top ’brain-machine plugin’, which through facial capturing, neural signal perception, and human behavior logic, had a success rate of 91.3% in judging emotions.

Why wasn’t he concerned?

Wasn’t this their investigation target with Aramaki?

That monster in the starry sky!

Yagami Suuji fell silent for a while, glanced at the female secretary he brought along, and said:

”Miss Secretary, come with me for a file registration when joining the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division.”

”Alright!!”

Sister Ji eagerly followed Yagami Suuji out.

...

After the other party left, Gao Gong shook his head with a smile, utilizing ministerial authority, he accessed recent task files, and soon found the encrypted data he was looking for.

Recently, many ’Cybertronians contaminated by the virus’ had fled to Mechanical Split Star, and Cybertron requested the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division to participate in the capture.

’So, the ’Alien Mechanism Chaos’ has been triggered, and the rebellious Cybertronians have become another major source of strength for the Knight Order.’

Gao Gong thought for a moment and outsourced this task to the ’Du Gao Group’ using ’ministerial authority’.

Capturing just one ’Cybertronian’ could not only aid in researching ’Biomechanical Technology’ but also reverse-engineer Cybertron’s mechanical life technology to enhance Du Gao Group’s mecha capabilities.

At this moment, Miss Ke’s voice sounded.

’Minister, the new Six-Ministry meeting will be held in 10 days, this time using an online mode in an absolutely confidential virtual space.’

”I understand.”

’Also, Minister Gu Yitong from the Memory Supervision Department wants to meet with you privately.’

”Not familiar, not meeting.”

’Understood.’

Gao Gong thought for a moment, then said: ”By the way, help me investigate details on the ’Punk Group’, the more detailed the better.”

’Yes, Minister.’

Moments later, Sister Ji returned with a face full of springtime joy, announcing: ”Mr. G, Miss Suzi personally gave me a physical examination.”

Gao Gong appraised the bionic-skinned Sister Ji; indeed, she had a high attractiveness rating, except for her overly aggressive personality.

If not for this, being a small secretary would be quite nice.

”Do you remember what just happened?”

”What happened?” Sister Ji was stunned for a moment, and said, ”Wasn’t it just Miss Suzi Yagami informing me about the medical check-up?”

Gao Gong shook his head with a smile, so cautious, deleting memories so quickly.

Unfortunately, this trick isn’t very useful against players. Once offline, everything that happens online is known again.

In a place unseen by Sister Ji, a girl in a white dress and white clothes sat on the sofa, obediently holding a book. Whether Suzi Yagami or Miss Ke, they seemed unaware of her existence.

After mastering the ’Authority of the Mother of Data’, the current Gao Yuanyuan had truly reached the state of being unnoticed.

Quite the Zhenzi!

Little Zhenzi, no, Gao Yuanyuan raised her head, curiously examining Sister Ji, and said, ”Brother, this Destruction Form is in such a strange state. Is it the ’Destiny Weaving Machine’ you mentioned?”

Gao Gong chuckled lightly, ”No. 4 really got caught this time.”

”Mm, Minister Gao, what are you talking about?” Sister Ji said coyly, with a demeanor as if inviting him, but unfortunately, this game prohibits any indecent actions; otherwise, she really wanted to develop something with him.

”Pour me a cup of tea, please.” Gao Gong patted her on the shoulder and said.

”Okay, Minister Gao.”

After she left, Gao Gong opened the system panel and looked at her attributes.

Name: Sister Ji (??? Possessed)

Race: Silk Thread Life (Forbidden Transformation)

Level: 41

Personal Attributes: Power 50, Agility 57, Endurance 31, Intelligence 101, Perception 102, Personality -51 points

Blood Volume: 12000/12000

Physical Strength: 3000/3000

Personal System Transformation Rate: 87% (200%)

Just a brief glance revealed many interesting things, for instance, this female player underwent ’Life Form Transformation’, removing four systems and retaining only movement, nervous, digestive, and reproductive systems, with the limits of these four systems raised to 125%.

This transformation is called Forbidden Transformation, which would be a high-priority hunt in any normal civilization, but in the Cyber Test Field, it’s just considered a dangerous nature of transformation.

The advantage of such transformation is that for the remaining human body systems, the utilization rate is very high, able to approach 50%.

You know, reaching 30% is the standard for frontline players.

And more interestingly, are those three question marks after her name.

There’s no doubt that these three question marks are the ’Destiny Weaving Machine’.

The ’Destiny Weaving Machine’ not only acted on Gao Gong but surreptitiously acted on other Destruction Forms as well.

So, in the crucial transformation rituals of Gao Yuanyuan, Eliza, and Gox, ’destiny’ coincidentally took action, and No. 0 also moved.

According to ’destiny’s plan, No. 0 would take the lead, escaping the shackles of the ’Golden Rule’, and then ruthlessly strike at the three of them, Gao Gox.

The reason is very simple; he must eliminate everyone who knows about his ’escape’.

But at the critical moment, ’destiny’ created another joke, which was the appearance of ’No. 3’.

The nemesis of all Artificial Intelligences.

And ten ’Big Data Conceptual Bodies’ became its feast, absolutely not allowing anyone to vie for them.

So, the battle of 2vs1 began.

In the end, Eliza successfully reincarnated, Gao Yuanyuan and Gox safely escaped, but No. 0, transformed into the ’King of Information’, was devoured by No. 3.

Thus, early in the morning, players wailed again because the dog planner had strengthened the Enhanced Version once more.

[Big Data Conceptual Body, fall of the King of Information, all AI, Cyber Hackers, Neural Editors, experience gain -20%]

As for the one who stirred ’destiny’ once again, it was naturally Gao Gong.

If it weren’t for Gao Gong’s ’Monitoring Window’, he really might not have discovered the opponent’s handiwork, much less capture them.

As the ’4th Destruction Form’ ranked just below the top three, this ’Destiny Weaving Machine’ had a very bug-like ability.

It doesn’t need a ’host’, or rather, the ’host’s’ death doesn’t affect its power, and it itself is a ’conceptual’ existence.

As the saying goes, fate is fickle; after the ’host’ dies, it merely needs to find another ’host’ to weave destiny anew.

So, containment is out of the question.

Even if Gao Gong gave it his all and severely injured it, it could recover to its prime just by finding a new host.

However, it should never have, by any means, parasitized a player.

The reason the 4th Celestial Calamity is the 4th Celestial Calamity is because they are immortal.

Confronted with a monster that does not die, the ’Destiny Weaving Machine’ was stumped.

No matter how it weaves destiny, it can’t truly ’kill’ the player!

When Gao Gong found Sister Ji, she had just died for the third time due to an accident, furious enough to kill.

Then, she was recruited by Gao Gong.

There’s nothing that an Advanced Task can’t solve.

If there is, then just have a few more tasks.

With Sister Ji’s cooperation, they quickly detected the various abilities of the ’Destiny Weaving Machine’.

Destiny played a joke, turned into a joke, and fell on itself.
