Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 780: Chapter 304: Misfortune

With Miss Ke’s computational power, it’s hard to imagine what happened next.

Gao Gong attacked the Minister of Human Affairs!

And it was a ruthless strike right from the start!

With a swipe at his waist, the Neural Connection Blade - Slaying Red Blade, entered a virtual state.

At the same time, circles of black light oozed from Gao Gong’s body, and everyone present felt terror, darkness, killing intent, and the deepest level of life destruction!

Field of Destruction (Tier 3 Talent): In the process of life’s growth, a form of negative energy imperceptible to outsiders accumulates. This energy is the ’Field of Destruction,’ a complete antithesis to the Life Magnet Field. Any attributes judged by the ’Field of Destruction’ will weaken by 10%/20%/50%/100%.

[You’ve been detected to have a level difference of more than 20 levels from the target, judgment weakened, ’enemy’s’ all attributes -8%]

But even just a moment of distraction was enough.

The next moment, the tip of the blade, like a burning hot iron, drove into the abdomen of the Minister of Human Affairs. In the stunned look in their eyes, a fierce light flashed in Gao Gong’s eyes, and he entered Fusion Mode with the sword as the main body.

An indescribable explosive force filled the ’Golden Collapse.’

”What are you doing!?”

”Minister Gao!”

”You—”

The three holographic projections descending from the Six Ministries’ ministers were all shocked.

A self-destructive conflict between ministers had never happened in the history of the Six Ministries.

Powerful ’Fusion Power’ caused the Minister of Human Affairs’ belly to expand threefold. A flash of black light passed Gao Gong’s left hand, one stab, one pull, and the ’Information Killer’ flashed by in an instant.

In a flash, a mass of flesh was sliced out, clutched in his palm, inside which a mass of golden light trembled wildly, as if trying to break free.

”Punk Group!”

”Punk Killer!”

”It’s it!”

The ministers present turned pale with shock.

As ministerial level dignitaries, they were deeply involved in the evolution of the planet.

Even if they hadn’t encountered the ’Punk Killer,’ this ’Civilization Poison Core,’ they knew of its existence from various encrypted data.

But who could imagine that such a monster was hiding within their minister; just the thought was chilling.

”Minister Gao, how did you detect it?” Misty looked solemnly at Gao Gong, finally treating him as an equal.

”Actually, it was Minister Aramaki’s will that told me this secret.”

Gao Gong unhesitatingly placed the blame on Old Man Aramaki.

”Aramaki, I see,” Misty did not doubt.

”Is there any hope for the Minister of Human Affairs?” the Minister of the Prosthetic Registration Department frowned and asked.

Gao Gong glanced at the other’s blood volume, 1031/150,000.

”He’s not dead, but whether he’s himself, that’s another question.”

Sure enough, the Minister of Human Affairs with a large hole in his abdomen slowly raised his head, looking at Gao Gong with a ferocious expression, golden light flickering in his eyes.

”It’s you again!”

”This must be the second—no, third time we’ve met.”

The first was during the Destruction Form competition, the second in the suppression of the ’Destiny Weaving Machine,’ and now was the third.

Their confrontations were numerous, with Gao Gong currently holding the upper hand.

”Once I reclaim my body, I will show you what true terror is!”

With those words, golden light emitted from the Minister of Human Affairs’ body, while the meatball in Gao Gong’s hand, the power of the Golden Avalanche, also threatened to break free.

’Still want to perish together with me?’

Gao Gong frowned, tapped his foot, and a purple prism appeared, but this time, the mirror reflected only thick fog.

This indicated that even the power of the ’Destruction Form’ could not penetrate the internal and external seals of ’Inspector Island.’

”It doesn’t matter anymore.”

The ’Avalanche Ball’ and the ’corpse’ were both thrown into the mirror.

”Open the view outside the island!” Misty commanded loudly.

The next moment, the five seemed to appear outside the island, within the mist on the sea, where a burst of golden light suddenly appeared, like a rising sun illuminating everything, causing the mist to disintegrate and dissolve.

After about a minute, the power of the ’Golden Avalanche’ was finally exhausted, and the mist once again filled the sea surface.

”What terrifying power!”

The Minister of Memory Supervision spoke, his voice no longer drowsy, now with a hint of apprehension.

”The data mist created by the core of the Six Ministries is second only to the ’Planet Firewall,’ yet it suffers such damage.”

”Instead of worrying about that, worry about why the ’Punk Killer’ has revived. Did Aramaki write about it in the will?” Misty spoke quickly and directly.

”Uh—” Gao Gong showed a momentary look of hesitation.

”The Six Ministries are akin to one body, you don’t have to worry about us leaking this to others.”

”Although not specifying anyone, without a doubt, all clues point to one existence,” Gao Gong paused, ”the Fortress!”

”Planet Host!?”

The Minister of Memory Supervision was the first to respond, speaking in a deep voice:

”Regarding the evolution of virtual personalities, no one on this planet can surpass it. Perhaps it was with its help that the Punk Killer could possess the Minister of Human Affairs.”

”Could it be that Aramaki’s death is also related to the ’Fortress’?” Misty looked equally troubled.

”In the encrypted data, back when the Punk Group was suppressed, wasn’t it the Fortress?” murmured the Minister of the Prosthetic Registration Department.

If Gao Gong was lying, it would not have escaped the attention of those present.

But the problem is, Gao Gong was not lying.

What he said was about a plot that had not yet occurred.

Aramaki was indeed investigating the connection between the Fortress and the Twelve Nobles.

The Fortress indeed had issues.

As for whether the Punk Killer was related to the Fortress, at least in Gao Gong’s view, the possibility was quite high.

”If that’s really the case, we need to send a crisis signal to the ’Dominator.’”

Misty’s words stirred something in Gao Gong’s heart; does this mean the Six Ministries have ways to communicate with Advanced Civilizations?

”Don’t rush, Misty. We should investigate first,” said the Minister of the Memory Supervision Department, glancing at Gao Gong, with a sharp glint flashing in his old eyes. ”I wondered how Aramaki would nominate an outsider to become the Minister of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division. Turns out, it’s the Destruction Master. It seems he had a premonition, right?”

Gao Gong wanted to say something when he was suddenly struck by a thought.

The ministers of the Memory Supervision Department and Humanity Experiment Department were both Favored by the Fortress, so—

”Heh, the new minister underestimates this old man. Although I’m a Favored, in the face of great right and wrong, I can still make distinctions. What’s most important is, the new minister probably isn’t yet clear about the operational mode of the Six Ministries and the Mother City.”

The holographic projection of this one became increasingly real, a massive spiritual power descended onto the island, and then evolved into a transparent old man figure. The entire body of the old man was transparent, yet the thick beard and hair on his head were actually tentacles.

A Tier 3 Virtual Life?

And an Alien Life form!

Gao Gong did not sense any life element from this planet from the other party.

Moreover, Gao Gong felt an indescribable pressure emanating from the other side.

”Indeed I am a Favored of the Fortress, but forgetting is actually a good thing.”

A faceless visage appeared on his face, then was slowly taken off and handed to Gao Gong.

[You obtained a special item: Virtual Personality of the Fortress]

”Put it on, and you’ll gain the power of the Favored of the Fortress. Of course, there is also the possibility of being possessed by the Fortress.”

Gao Gong was silent for a while, took it, and asked another question:

”How did you get here?”

”That involves some of my special abilities. Forgetting doesn’t mean disappearing, but another form of projection. When I forget it, ’forgetting’ itself becomes a coordinate, and then, I came over.”

Such a peculiar ability.

The Minister of the Memory Supervision Department continued, ”My external domain name is too long, so I won’t tell you. On this planet, I’ve taken another name, ’Guu Yitong.’

”Don’t doubt it, within the Six Ministries, the former Aramaki could only be ranked second; the first is our Minister Guu,” Misty said.

”I know you’re hiding something, Aramaki hid something as well, but aside from the parts you both concealed, I can tell you haven’t lied, so it appears the Six Ministries need to jointly organize a highly confidential investigation team.”

”You shouldn’t have come,” said Gao Gong abruptly.

”Hmm?”

Gao Gong severed the connection with the Sword of Scarlet Red, and in the next moment, the massive sword shrank directly into Gao Gong’s waist like it suffered acute renal failure.

Gao Gong turned his head, looking at a certain forgotten elderly black-skinned woman in the group. At this time, the Minister of the Machine Consciousness Department was trembling all over, inexplicably standing up, the insect eggs on her body breaking out of their shells one by one, falling to the ground, and seemed to be absorbing something, growing rapidly.

Gao Gong turned his head towards Guu Yitong, noticing that the insect eggs on the alien minister’s body were also rapidly increasing.

”Some things feed on memory.”

”What do you mean?” Guu Yitong was still somewhat puzzled.

”Miss Ke, help me open the data fog!”

”Okay, opening the Inspector’s channel... opening the Inspector’s channel... due to previous damage, the data fog cannot be used temporarily, under emergency repair, repair time, 300 seconds, 299 seconds, 298 seconds, 297 seconds...”

Gao Gong looked up, seeing that memory worms had already crawled all over the ceiling, covering nearly four directions, and accordingly, the insect eggs in the two of their bodies were also rapidly increasing.

”Minister Guu, run while you can; if not, you won’t be able to escape.”

Though Guu Yitong didn’t know why Gao Gong said so, he sensed something wrong from the other’s expression.

And when he tried to leave, he encountered a problem similar to Gao Gong’s.

He couldn’t get away.

Every time the ’forgetting’ ability was activated, a large number of memory worms would swarm up and devour it.

At this moment, around Gao Gong, the Purple String Space had fully opened, one prism after another activated, but the bug-level ability of space teleportation was completely invalid here.

The Six Ministries level data fog was already equivalent to a low-end version of the Planet Firewall.

Solely relying on the power of a Destruction Form, it couldn’t be broken through.

”Is it really this coincidental?”

Gao Gong muttered to himself.

From entering this Inspector Island to detecting the issues with these two ministers, and coincidentally, the monsters on these two would mutually affect each other.

The result left him with no way out.

Step after step, it seemed like these were steps he took himself, yet upon careful reflection, it was as if there was some malevolent scheme behind it all.

When the times are favorable, everything supports you; when fate turns against you, heroes have no freedom.

Gao Gong inexplicably thought of this phrase.
