Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Even the son and daughter are afraid of me, completely isolating me.

Oh well.

”Alright, I’ll go with you when the time comes. But what’s your plan? Where to lure them? How to lure them? Lure them to where?” Song Tianyi asked.

Lin Zhengzhong was clearly delighted to hear Song Tianyi agree immediately.

He laughed and said, ”Don’t worry, once this rainstorm is over and the sun comes out, we can act. I’ve already made a plan.

Luring to the north and south isn’t effective; even if we lure them away, they return shortly.

My plan is:

There’s a valley west in the middle of Wuyi Mountain. We’ll lure the zombies to the west, and then use a detonator to blow up the road.”

Song Tianyi’s mind was evidently not in the conversation, he didn’t listen clearly and just said, ”Alright, as long as you have a plan, let me know then. That’s it for now.”

”I wasn’t wrong about you, Old Song is straightforward.”

”By the way, last time your wife contacted me via walkie-talkie, I sensed something off in her tone. Are you two having a conflict? She kept asking me when we could evacuate from here. It was awkward to answer her then. Please let her know that the evacuation plan is canceled and replaced with the zombie luring plan.”

Song Tianyi sighed inwardly, he couldn’t help now as his wife completely ignored him.

If he gets close, she acts insane, holding a knife and yelling.

”Got it.” Song Tianyi said impatiently.

The walkie-talkie returned to silence.

Song Tianyi heavily sank back into the couch, staring at the dark ceiling, lost in thoughts.

.....

Big Camphor Tree Base.

First Outer City.

Xiao Jun walked into the Jackals’ room.

”Uncle.” Xiao Jun said as he saw Jackals.

”Cousin!” Xiao Yong looked up at Xiao Jun, showing a joyful expression.

Before the apocalypse, Xiao Yong had met Xiao Jun only once due to various reasons.

But after joining Big Camphor Tree Base, with more interactions, their relationship improved greatly.

Xiao Jun saw Xiao Yong sitting on a stool, writing and smiled, ruffling his hair.

”You’re here, take a seat.” Jackals pulled a chair from under the bed and pushed it forward.

The room was very small, only had a desk, a double bed, and a small wardrobe; there was almost no space left.

Xiao Jun sat down and said to Jackals, ”Uncle, this rain has been going on for too long, who knows how much longer it’ll last. I’m a bit worried about the situation in Oil City.”

Jackals held a small knife, carving wood, somehow influenced by someone, he’d developed a liking for such time-consuming activities as wood carving.

His skills were good, creating a small teacup with patterns on it.

”Ju Tianrui is over there, there shouldn’t be a problem. Besides, didn’t we install the mobile switch blade before we left there? Nothing to worry about.”

Jackals thought for a moment and then said, ”If I remember correctly, you’re on wall duty tomorrow. Rest well today. Though wall duty isn’t dangerous, with this heavy rain and cold weather, being drenched for hours can make you sick.”

Hearing Uncle’s concern, Xiao Jun felt warmth in his heart.

”Understood.” Xiao Jun replied.

He remembered Ma Yingxue who once came from Southern Paradise.

He had secretly given her a can of his preserved food.

Watching the storm outside the window, he silently thought: I wonder how she’s doing now.....

He intended to mention Ma Yingxue to Uncle but felt it wasn’t appropriate, so he remained silent.

Jackals looked at Xiao Jun sitting beside him and sensed something unusual.

Though Xiao Jun visited regularly, today’s visit clearly had something he wanted to discuss.

But he wasn’t saying anything now, so Jackals pondered for a while and spoke: ”Do you have something you want to discuss with me?”

Xiao Jun was taken aback, surprised that Uncle had noticed so quickly.

He waved his hand saying: ”No, no, I just came to sit.”

”Oh? Doesn’t seem like it.....” Jackals chuckled, setting down his knife and looking up at him.

Being a top-notch King of Soldiers, Jackals’ ability to read expressions was strong and his mind agile.

People like him didn’t just have brute strength or superior spear skills, their comprehensive abilities, particularly in mental insight, were strong.

Xiao Jun, exposed by Uncle’s keen observation, felt a bit embarrassed.

He originally wanted to ask Jackals if what he did was okay.

After all, Southern Paradise was another force, and he’d taken a liking to the leader’s goddaughter. Even though Southern Paradise was currently in cooperation, what about the future?

Moreover, he had previously been in charge of Oil City, which was critically important to Big Camphor Tree Base.

He feared if this got out, it could cause misunderstanding with Li Yu.

Yet, it was still early to worry.

That’s why he hesitated to bring it up with Jackals.

Seeing his silence, Jackals understood Xiao Jun was definitely hiding something.

So, he stood up and closed the door, turned around and said to Xiao Jun:

”Go ahead, what’s up? If you don’t tell me, who else will you tell?”

Xiao Jun saw the door was closed, exhaled deeply and said: ”I... I have a crush on a girl.”

Jackals was momentarily surprised, wondering what he was going to say.

At Big Camphor Tree Base, no one mind who you like, you’re free to pursue whoever you want.
