Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Northern side.

A towering wall lay flat on the ground like a giant dragon, and a wall also stood on the distant mountain range.

The wide and imposing gate was tightly shut, with some spikes outside to block Zombies. The spikes penetrated the Zombies, stopping them further at the blockade.

On the tall wall stood a man with sword-like eyebrows wearing a Bullet-Proof Vest, holding a Submachine Gun, asking calmly, ”Have those people who just arrived been sent over?”

”Yes, they’ve been sent over. They just mentioned they’re coming from the South, but we don’t know the situation there.”

”Hmm.” The man with sword-like eyebrows nodded, overlooking the Zombies below.

The wall was extremely high, dozens of meters tall. If one accidentally fell, even if not bitten by Zombies, they would certainly die from the fall.

.....

.....

Southern Paradise.

Next to the energy warehouse, inside the power generation room, the generator constantly operated, providing electricity to the base.

Central building, third-floor room.

Mr. Hu looked at the pouring rain outside, his hands behind him, and said to the person behind him, ”Fortunately, you insisted on harvesting those grains with such a storm...”

The Madman poured himself a glass of wine, took a large sip, his eyebrows tightened then relaxed.

Smacking his lips, he said, ”Better than having nothing at all. Mr. Hu, didn’t you ask me to drink with you? Why am I drinking alone? You should have some too.”

Mr. Hu slowly turned around, his brow full of worries.

He walked to the table, saying gloomily, ”There are several teams yet to return. With this heavy rain, I suppose they won’t be coming back.”

Upon hearing this, the Madman also set down his wine glass.

With a sigh, he said, ”Do your best, and leave the rest to fate. This Doomsday, I have figured it out, live one day at a time. It’s better now than it was at the beginning, right?”

Mr. Hu nodded, sighed, and asked, ”After harvesting, how long can the grain sustain the people at the base?”

”At most three months,” the Madman said.

Upon hearing this, Mr. Hu’s worries deepened.

He quickly asked, ”When can we plant again?”

”Hard to say, with weather like this, it’s not suitable, but we can try growing indoors...” the Madman replied.

Mr. Hu pondered for a moment and said, ”Then let’s try.”

The Madman took another sip and said gloomily, ”It’s not so simple. With such a dark sky, crops can’t grow without light, unless we have supplement lighting.”

Mr. Hu waved his hand and said, ”No worries. We just managed to get some fuel recently, so we can generate power for lighting, which should last for a while. You should proceed, our food reserves are too low. If this rain lasts a month or two, our food won’t hold.”

The Madman set down his glass, contemplating for a while before saying, ”Alright, but the scale might be small, and you’ll need to give me some space.”

”That’s not a problem. Furthermore...” Mr. Hu was silent for a few seconds before continuing, ”Starting today, reduce everyone’s food ration at the base by half.”

The Madman asked, somewhat shocked, ”Reducing by half all at once, when there’s barely enough? Everyone’s already not full, reducing by half might cause complaints, right?”

Mr. Hu’s face was dark as water, and he said, ”If anyone has complaints, let them come to me. At times like this, being alive is what’s most important!”

”Reducing by half means eating only once a day, which will greatly impact everyone’s fighting ability. Ah... Damn this Doomsday!” said the Madman, suddenly cursing the heavens.

The two fell silent.

They knew well that further reducing food rations would affect fighting abilities. They’ve experienced the difficulty of prolonged hunger.

However, the unpredictability of Doomsday’s natural disaster left them unsure of how long this rain would last.

The last time it rained heavily, they suffered, starving dozens of people to death.

These were people who starved to death.

Mr. Hu never wanted to see his people die of hunger again.

Rather, eat less, but stay alive.

As long as they survive, there’s hope to overcome difficulties eventually.

Difficulties come and go, but failing means death.

This is the challenge facing everyone in Doomsday.

....

A house near the central building.

Ma Yingxue held a can in her hand, recalling when Xiao Jun secretly handed her this can when she left Oil City.

As she recalled, Xiao Jun’s image grew larger in her mind.

”Was it his idea to give me this, or was it Oil City’s intention?”

”It should be his idea. Oil City wouldn’t be so stingy.”

”Why did he give it to me without saying anything? What do you mean?”

Ma Yingxue held the pork can dumbfounded, this can of pork weighed a pound.

She buried her head under the pillow.

After a while, suffocated, she lifted the pillow, her face a bit flushed.

”What does it mean? Bastard!”

Annoyed, she picked up the Dagger nailed to the table to open the can.

Just as the sharp blade was about to touch the metal surface of the can, she paused.

She looked at the ingredients and the weight on the pork can.
